You have to have 10.7.2 to have the iCloud icon appear.
You need to upgrade to Lion, via download from the app store, $29 (US).

I have a MacBook Pro. When I go to system preferences, the external speakers option does not appear on the input tab and, of course, the external speakers do not work. Help?
When you plug headphones in, or external speakers, where it states "internal speakers", it will rename that "headphones", say. Unless you are running an external sound card.

My iCloud contact list does not contain all the contacts listed in my iPhone 5S. If I delete a contact from the phone it instantly deletes it from the iCloud on my PC. But my PC iCloud list is lacking many of the contacts on my phone.
And which account did you enter these contacts in?

Does anyone know why the airplay TV icon has moved from the recents bar, mine has now gone to the top of the screen. How do I get it back to the recents bar?
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

I've tried buying new chargers and plugging them into different outlets around the house but the iPod will not respond to anything. The home button is broken so I can't reset the iPod by holding both the home and lock screen buttons down, and it won't even connect to iTunes when plugged into my computer. How can I fix this issue? The iPod never overheated or anything, and it still had charge left before it quit responding.
Unfortunately for you, the home button is necessary for reset and also to put the device into recovery mode or DFU mode. Since that is not working, and the device is not recognized in iTunes, check the charging port area. There could be dust, lint, etc, that is blocking the connection for charging, and connecting to iTunes. If nothing seems wrong there, then make an appointment at the Genius Bar of the nearest Apple Store or Authorized Apple Service provider, depending on your location. There is no other option.

After I upgraded my iTunes to versoin 11.1 a number of my songs suddenly showed that they were unavailable for download, but that I could play them from iCloud. I verified that I actually can stream and play them from the iOS devices that I own; but that's only useful if I'm in range of a router or cell tower (not always the case!).
In the past, I could right-click on a song and choose Download from the context menu. That has disappeared. The online help says to use the Download button, but that button is not present. How can this functionality be restored?I had this same issue after I upgraded. Have iTunes re-scan your library for iTunes Match (Click "Match" along the top row of your library -- Songs Albums Artists... etc.). After it finished re-scanning my library I could download songs again from iTunes Match.

how do you stop apps with out deleting them i have looked for something like a task manager and nothing and researched about it and it says to go into your settings and then click applications but i dont have one can someone please help[ me thank you
Double click the Home button. The bottom row shows the recently used apps. Touch and hold the app until they all start to wiggle then tap the circled minus sign by apps you want to remove. Press the Home button to return to normal.
However, that is recently used apps not apps doing something. Some apps will do things all the time/periodically like checking for Notification, new mail. Yu can turn those off in the apps themselves.
Just what are you trying to accomplish? -
I updated Firefox and the "homepage" button is gone, how do I get it back?
I need to be able to hit that cute little picture of the house, but it doesn't seem to exist in version 4.0.1
By default it has moved to the right hand side of the navigation toolbar.
If it is not there use the method in the following link to add it back - https://support.mozilla.com/kb/How+to+customize+the+toolbar -

When using Safari the scroll bars no longer appear on the right hand side. When I go into System Preferences the option to Always have the scroll bars displayed is NOT there. How/Where do I go to get these to show all the time?
It SHOULD be under the General tab in System Preferences:
(Note that this is a Mavericks screenshot, but it should be there in Snow Leopard, too, if indeed you're still running 10.6.8 as your profile says)

You can go to spotlight by swiping your finger to the right on the home screen and enter Settings in the search box. Tap on the application, tap on General, scroll down and tap on Reset, then Reset Home Screen.

I have an icloud account which I can access via the web but when I go to systems preferences and click on the icloud it sends me to the mobileme closed site?? How do I get it to go to my icloud log in?
You're saying that when you click on the iCloud preference pane button it sends you to the defunct MMe
rather than giving you this?
Is your profile up to date, i.e. are your running 10.7.5? Make sure you click on the iCloud button and not the MMe button.

I just bought an ipad and it had icloud and when I attach the ipad to the macbook pro (running lion; up to date) it is not even recognizing that it is attached. I want to put the icloud on the macbook pro because it is not on there. When I go to system preferences and look for the icon for icloud it is not there. The instructiions said that you have to go to system preferences and click on the icloud icon and follow the instructions but I show no icon. Help!
You are most likely running Snow Leopard or an older version. Did it say what your current software is? If you are upgrading from Snow Leopard (10.6) to Lion (10.7), it needs to be purchased from the Mac App Store.
