Back up all data, then boot from your recovery partition (command-R at startup), launch Disk Utility, select your startup volume, and run Repair Disk (not Repair Permissions.) If any problems are found, repeat. Then reboot as usual.

IPhoto has crashed on a number of occasions, but on 2 occasions also seems to delete several events, including the one I'm editing. When I go to reimport the last event, it shows them as already there. But I can't find them.

iPhoto on my iMac keeps crashing. On 2 occasions its also deleted several events. When reopening, the event boxes & dates are there but have no pics. Can anyone help with stopping the crashes please? Also are the pics still accessible or do I have to go to back up?

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #3, followed by #4 and then #1 as needed.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Since I have difficulties working with the mouse (as a lot of people have), it would be nice if I can use the keyboard for as much as possible when working with applications on the computer. I frequently use Tab, Ctrl-Tab, PgUp/Dwn, Alt-<menu-item or key-to-accomplish-something> etc. Lightning could be more user friendly in that respect.
This way of designing the user interface should, in my opinion, be applied as much as possible. And it shouldn't interfere with - but complement - other ways of navigating in applications, such as by the mouse, scroll bars etc.

When I click on text in a page, an I-bar appears where I click which then can be moved with the arrow keys, just like a Word document.

I have reinstalled Firefox twice, each time downloading a new installer exe from the website. I have also updated all plug-ins. This is a continual problem, as this makes normal scrolling impossible because the arrow keys move the I bar.

I think your problem is the fact that your friend is not registered through iMessage, just text messages. I would look around and check out how to set up iMessage on iPhones.

Using the arrow keys to move objects in photoshop issue

When I move objects around in Photoshop using the arrow keys something odd to me happens. When I press the left arrow key it seems to move 2 pixels then when I press the right arrow key it seems like it moves 1 pixel. I noticed this when I had 3 objects. One was centered and I wanted to move both the other objects 20 pixels away. One looked twice as far away. I looked closer and I found out that was the problem. This also happens when using the up and down arrow keys. Is that supposed to happen and is there a way to fix it? Thanks

Thanks to Fruhulda and Peter for their comments regarding the refusal of Pages to let me make 3D charts.
In answer to the questions put to me in this regard :
1. Pages version : Pages '09 v.4.1 (923)
2. Mac O/S :          v.10.6.8
3. 3D chart :          Can't find a 'name', but upright bars with rounded corners ???
4. Moved apps :    Not that I'm aware of! All should be as installed off the disc.
5. A note :              I have been able to create these in the past - related to a SW update?
                      and ... can create these charts perfectly in Keynote (go figure).

Sync them from your iTunes library:

Note that you can only sync apps from the one syncing computer/library that yo can have. If the iPod was synced to another computer/iTunes libary or set up via wifi then to make this computer/itunes library your syncing computer/library:
