I had e-mails that I was saving, but are now gone. I wonder if there was malware or a virus that did it. Can you help?

When I close and reopen firefox, it restores my tabs, but it restores tabs from hours or days ago, not the ones that were open when I closed the window - why?

I normally keep my Firefox window open for long periods of time because I have a lot of active tabs. When I close the window and reopen it, I am still able to restore tabs, but as of a few weeks ago, it has stopped restoring the most recent version. Normally, when I would close and reopen, the tabs would be the same ones that were open when I closed the window. Now, it restores to a version from a few days ago instead of the current version. I have to revert to pulling my more recent tabs out of the recent history. I checked my options and I can't figure out any way to control this. How can I fix it so that I can count on my Firefox window to restore the tabs that I actually care about?

You can check for problems with the sessionstore.js and sessionstore.bak files in the Firefox Profile Folder that store session data.
Delete the sessionstore.js file and possible sessionstore-##.js files with a number and sessionstore.bak in the Firefox Profile Folder.

Deleting sessionstore.js will cause App Tabs and Tab Groups and open and closed (undo) tabs to get lost, so you will have to create them again (make a note or bookmark them).

Pay no attention to iinami, the amount of replies to people saying their handsets must have been jailbroken everytime iTunes throws out an error is tremendous. (Clearly you don't need to have any real knowledge to get to level 3 on these forums, let's hope apple's geniuses know a lot more than some of their customers.)

If you catch it right away - and I mean right away - there is an Undo bottom on the keyboard. If you tap the ?123 button in the lower left corner, that will bring up the Undo button. Try that next time.
That has worked for me from time to time. And yes, shaking the iPad will bring up an Undo Typing box as well.

No. All imports go into a new Event. How many new events are created is determined by what you set in iPhoto's General preference pane in regards to how Events are autosplit during import:

when I close my browser and then reopen it, it does not go to the selected home page, but reopens with all of the previous tabs. reviewed the available knowledge based answers, but none seemed to fix problem. I'm not certain that I did everything correctly, but I believe I followed the directions properly. problem persists.

Assuming Firefox is set to start up with your home page, there are two common reasons for this:
* You have a user.js file instructing Firefox to ignore your previously saved settings and restore the earlier session. See this article on tracking down and removing that file: [[How to fix preferences that won't save]].
* Firefox is crashing, and doing an automatic crash recovery. As a diagnostic, you can change what Firefox does during a crash recovery, from automatically restoring to showing a list of windows and tabs from your previous session so you can pick and choose what to restore.

(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.

Is there any way to recover files from the guest account on a Mac, after the machine has been logged out?

I had uploaded some photos onto iPhoto on the guest account for my visitors, intending to burn them on departure.
I updated my Mac with a system software update, which required reboot so I of course types in the admin username/password to do so.
I received no warning message "caution: all temporary files in guest account will be deleted if you logout" as if you logout directly from the guest account, so I had forgotten about the guest account wipe.
Just today I switched to the guest user, and was dismayed to find the files gone.
Surely there must be some way to recover these files? Can anyone help?!

They possibly still exist on the hard drive if you haven't overwritten that space already.
Your only hope is to try a file recovery program like Data Rescue 3 or some sort like that.

I then removed the old account (assuming that it would stay in my inbox and just not try to send or receive) and all of the old incoming and sent emails that I had been saving under that account in my inbox and sent files folders disappeared. As you may know, you can set up accounts using two different protocols: POP3 and IMAP. With POP3, you actually download copies of all mail and Sent messages are stored locally. Removing your account should be no problem. With IMAP, you are viewing a mirror of your mail which really lives on the server. Removing an IMAP account might remove the folders, although I can't recall ever trying it.

Yes. I tried the refresh and checked the uninstall tab. Still nothing. Another thing though - when I entered my Blackberry ID, it would not let me use my screen name because it was supposedly already in use. But I knew that because it was in use by me. iCloud email supports 'plus' addressing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_address#Address_tags
So your friend could just add '+research' to the username part of your email address, and you setup a rule at icloud.com to put all emails sent to that address into a particular folder.
For example:
[email protected]
There's no way to do it without rules on the server though.

follow these steps to unblock images:
*Go to Tools > Options. Click the '''Content''' tab.
*In the Content section, next to '''Load images automatically''', click the '''Exceptions''' button.
*Now, find the site you want to re-allow images for, click it and hit the '''Remove''' button.

There is nothing wrong with my yahoo email or password.

The phone will automatically re-appear when it connects to the Internet. However, don't get your hopes up, as thieves know this & will make sure your phone never re-connects so you can locate it.
