When I open firefox, the browser line & file etc. don't appear

my computer is very slow & I keep getting a message from Norton that I have high memory usage with Firefox

The app tabs feature is still in a relatively early stage of development. The option to remember app tabs independently of sessions has not yet been implemented, but it will be part of the release version of Firefox 4.

• When I open Firefox, the browser does not open. Instead I get a small window that says: TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined. How do I fix this?

I tried to uninstall AVG antiviral software, but it did not uninstall. Next, when I try to open Firefox I get a box popup that says:
TypeError: Components.classes[cid] is undefined.
If I click OK in that box, I can then open Firefox.
Also I can no longer update Java.
Help!

Possibly you have "AVG Safe search" extension installed as part of "AVG Free", solution involves reinstalling :AVG Free" without the Link Scanner component see

If you want to remove saved form data from a drop down list then use these steps:
#Click the (empty) input field on the web page to open the drop down list
#Highlight an entry in the drop down list
#Press the Delete key (on Mac: Shift+Delete) to remove it.

• When I open iPhoto5, the list (albums, trash, etc.) next to pictures has disappeared. How do I get it back?

When I open iPhoto5, the list (albums, trash, etc.) next to pictures has disappeared. How can I get it back?

You can move your cursor to the far left of the iPhoto window and grab side of the source pane and drag it open - or
A good general step for strange issues is to renew the iPhoto preference file - quit iPhoto and go to "your user name" ==> library ==> preferences ==> com.apple.iPhoto.plist and trash it - launch iPhoto which creates a fresh new default preference file and reset any personal preferences you have changed and if you have moved the iPhoto library repoint to it. This may help
This does not affect your photos or any database information (keywords, faces, places, ratings, etc) in any way - they are stored in the iPhoto library - the iPhoto preference file simply controls how iPhoto works - which is why renewing it is a good first step.

• When I open Mail the screen flickers random blue and gray appeared on the screen. I took a video too. Will that happen again? Is it hardware problem? This ipad2 32GB was replaced yesterday and I think it is refurbished. Are replace product refurbished?

I got my ipad2 replaced yesterday. And this new ipad started giving me problem by crashing aps. Then I restored the ipad twice but the problem was still there. I called apple and they fixed it by doing Reset All Settings. But now I have this weird problem. When I open Mail the screen flickers random blue and gray appeared on the screen. I took a video too. Will that happen again? Is it hardware problem? This ipad2 32GB was replaced yesterday and I think it is refurbished. Are replace product refurbished?

There is no way for anyone here to know if your replacement iPad is a refurbished unit. Per Apple's replacement policy, replacements can be refurbished units. If you feel the unit is not working correctly, take it back, let them check it out and if found defective, they will replace that unit.

• When I open firefox, the web address ishows my chosen home page but the window shows "untitled" and I am unable to connect to any site to the internet.

I chose the New York Times site to be my home page and when I open Firefox this address appears in the web address panel. But in the tab box it says "untitled" and I don't connect to any web page. I have tried reloading firefox, nothing seems to work. How can I stop this?

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox without informing you about that, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process.

• When I open FireFox the 'Security Password' window opens TWICE both must be typed in to open FireFox, Why?

When I load FireFox the Master Security Password window opens 2 times. Both must be filled in for FireFox to access passwords. Why and how do I correct this?

Are you using Firefox Sync or reopen pages that you've saved a password for?
*https://support.mozilla.org/kb/what-firefox-sync
Try one of these:
* StartupMaster: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/startupmaster/

In Mac OS X v10.7, the $HOME/Library folder is a hidden folder.
Open Finder and use one of these:
* Go > Go To Folder (Shift-Command-G) and in the dialog type: ~/Library
* Open the "Go" menu and hold down the Option key to make the Library appear
You can also use this command in a Terminal window to remove the hidden flag.
* Mac HD > Applications > Utilities > Terminal
* chflags nohidden ~/Library

• After updating firefox I can not open the shortcut browser icon, but can open IE, and my whole system seems to be slow. solution please? Now when I open firefox the task manager says the process firefox is running 100% CPU in the background

Updated firefox to latest version with custom install, no task bar or startup (in past I think I usually included startup) late Friday nite. Then when trying to open Firefox shortcut on desktop Sat. could not, would freeze up. Then if I tried to open IE same would happen. After rebooting a # of times, opened IE 1st and worked but still could not open Mozilla within IE or the desktop. Also all our 3 wireless laptops including apple have no problem with this.

You said you tried the recommended solution, but didn't mention what that solution was. Try, from the Firefox menu bar:

Tools -> Options -> Content
where you will find an option to block pop-up windows. If that box is checked but there are sites from which you would like to allow pop-up, click the button "Exceptions..." to add sites to your exception list.

hello jay25, [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/940393#answer-377118 from another user] we found out that this might be related to malware active on your pc. please close all firefox windows and try [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode|running firefox in safemode]] (by pressing the shift key while you're starting it). in firefox safemode go to firefox > addons > extensions and remove the entry named "Codec v1.0" or any other addons that look suspicious & you have not installed intentionally. afterwards see if you can run firefox normally again...
please also do an in-depth scan of your system with the security software already in place and/or a different tool like the [http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free free version of malwarebytes] & keep firefox and your plugins up-to-date in order to stay safe on the web.

• When i open firefox, the, i think it's called the history menu, opens in the left had side too and i would like this to stop.

it's the bar that runs from the top to bottom of the left hand side of firefox. i have no idea how this started, it didn't do this before, and i am starting to get annoyed. i looked through the settings, and google and couldn't find how to stop it. could someone give me the step by step?

*CTRL+H opens or closes the History Sidebar (it says "History" at the top)
*CTRL+B opens or closes the Bookmarks Sidebar (it says "Bookmarks" at the top)
*For either Sidebar, clicking the small "x" to the right of "Histtory"/"Bookmarks" will close the Sidebar
*If the Sidebar is open when you close/exit Firefox, it will be there when you open/re-start Firefox.
