the mute button is a switch you need to flip, not touch. if you look at it and see color, its on.

99.9% of the time, the cause of this issue is the fact the phone was jailbroken/hacked to unlock it for use on networks other than the network the phone was originally locked to. Apple maintains a database of officially unlocked iPhones, and when Apple's servers detect phones such as yours, activation stops & you get the message you got.
So, you need to get a sim card from the carrier the phone was originally locked to, or get it officially unlocked, if you want to activate it. Because it appears that it was not officially unlocked.
Apple has started to get "tough" with hacked iPhones, & simply won't permit their activation.

If you log into your email account at your providers web mail page are the emails in your Inbox there? Thunderbird downloads messages that are in your Inbox. If the messages are not there it cannot download them.
Check the spam folder at your providers site. They might be there.

Your phone is not charging you. I think you may want to go and change your password on your apple id as it might be comprimised. Also talk to apple about any erronious charges.

AppleWorks is a very old application and requires Rosetta to run under recent systems.
Lion does not include Rosetta.

My font totally changed after the last Firefox update. It is a little smaller, less bold and very much less clear. Please tell me how to fix this.

The default font used on websites like Facebook, Craigslist, Google etc. has now become much worse since the last update. It is much less clear, it almost looks choppy and transparent. As if part of the letters are missing. Less bold and just a tad smaller as well. I would like to go back to the way the font used to look like, the way it does in Internet Explorer and Chrome.

my computer upgraded from 3.6 to 5 and crashed and will not now open any pages with firefox. I have tried to reinstall many times with same result. What is the problem? Try going to the Tools menu item, and choose Options.
In the popup, select the Advanced screen (cog icon) and under that, the Update sub-tab. On that tab, uncheck the various boxes for checking for updates, and see if that helps?
