windows thinks my itouch is a camera and itunes says this ipod can't be used because the software isn't installed - reinstall itunes. i've done that and continue to get the same error. can someone please help?

Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:

Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, does your device connect without that message now? -
I had issues with the new update to itunes. I did as the website instructed and uninstalled all components.
I went back to download and it acts like everything has downloaded
by stating congratulations but nothing had downloaded.
Please help/.

Click on that, and it will present you with a list of options. From there, you go to the third option down, which says "Itunes Store," hover over it with your mouse, and it will give you another set of options. From there, you can see the two options, "Authorize" an "Deauthorize computer. Just click on "Authorize," enter in your apple ID and password, and your computer will be authorized! When trying to update apps an invalid apple id show up and I cannot get the apple id to update to the same id, I have restored, restored as a new phone, I have been into the manage I am at wits end after 7 hours on hold and working with techs.
Finally got through to tech support and found someone who seemed to know what was going on, he walked me through and using appleid.applesupport got me to a point where i could get a new password for the apple id that kept showing up.
I think you were on the right trail and I want to say thanks for your help. Much appreciated

I have a black Apple TV that has recently stopped working. It loads the Apple Logo on screen then goes off and starts again. It's as if it is stuck in a loop. I've tried a re-boot and this has failed. I have tried a restore using a USB cable on 5 different computers, including a Mac Book Pro and it downloads the update file but when it tries to restore I get the error code 9 showing on screen. I just can't get it to do anything.

I'm sure I will be calling AppleCare, but the problem is, they charge for the phone calls don't they? Because I don't have money to be spending to be on the phone with a support service.
In other things, it seemed like the only time my MacBook was working was when I had Snow Leopard without the 10.6.8 update download that was supposed to be done to prepare for OS X Lion.
When I look at the information of my HD it says that I have 10.6.8 but that was the install that it claimed to have failed and caused me to restart resulting in all of the repeated problems.
Also, because my computer is currently down, and I've lost all files how would that effect the use of my iPhone? Because if it doesn't get fixed by the time OS 5 is released, how would I be able to upgrade?! -
I have already tried to recover my ipad but it still keeps coming up that it is disabled and to connect to itunes. When i go to itunes it says that I require to put my passcode in on my ipad but i cant because its still disabled. Please help, I have no clue where to go from here. I though by recovering it that it would work but it didn't. Help! Thanks in advance.

Recovery Mode:
1. Turn off iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, slide to turn off.
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune (make sure you have the newest version of iTune)
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad -

I had the exact same issue, being on a mac. If you are on a mac and the connection error message occurs, then use this link http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg
It allows you to download it offline, which is what I used.

I'm having trouble getting into my ipad. There is message on the screen in a small box saying my subscription to a film has expired. When I press 'ok' in the small box nothing happens and I cannot use the ipad. I have tried turning it off and on but the same message is there and I cannot use the ipad. Any suggestions, please?

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons -
yesterday i downloaded dead trigger and asphalt 8 and transferred them to my iphone 5c via itunes downloaded to my laptop, but whenever i log in again to itunes store it starts downloading those applications again which i want to stop, how to do that by keeping the downloaded apps into my account?
Is this on your computer's iTunes ? If it is then do you have downward pointing arrow at the top right of the iTunes screen :
If you do, then does clicking on it open a popup window, and if it does do those apps show on it ? If they do can you select and delete them from there.
Not sure what you mean by 'keeping the downloaded apps into my account'. If it's that you want to keep them linked to your account then as long as they remain in your country's store and you don't change countries then they will remain linked to your account - you can't delete any item from your purchase history. -
I tried to run the new update to iTunes and I got the error....iTunes was not installed properly. Please reinstall iTunes. I have tried that twice with no success. Anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

Try a reset (click on that down pointing arrow) and also if you have a Mac, toggle the green resize button. It usually forces Bridge to resize to the screen.

I accidently unplugged my iphone thinking it had finished backing up, i lost everything and had to restore. Everything came back except my music. I have tried to put it back but cannot get it to sync back hope someone can help!

With your device connected to the computer, click on the Music tab, and uncheck the Sync Music box and sync. Then go back in and reselect the Sync Music box (and any other filters you want), and re-sync. See if that will download your music.
