When I try to open Photoshop it says it can't start my subscription, even though it's being paid for. How do I make it work again?

I have a PC computer and I've had my subscription since January or February and it's been working fine until a few days ago, when it randomly stopped working and gave me that message when I tried to open it. Then just yesterday, it sent a confirmation that my Photoshop subscription bill had been paid, so I know the subscription is still intact--it's just not letting me use Photoshop.

Well no, it's just been installed on my computer forever and so I tried to open a document into Photoshop like usual, but it didn't work and kept saying it couldn't connect to my subscription. And no matter how many times I hit "try again," it doesn't work.

    Are you running a Managed or a Referenced Library?
    A Managed Library, is the default setting, and iPhoto copies files into the iPhoto Library when Importing. The files are then stored in the Library package
    A Referenced Library is when iPhoto is NOT copying the files into the iPhoto Library when importing because you made a change at iPhoto -> Preferences -> Advanced. (You unchecked the option to copy files into the Library on import) The files are then stored where ever you put them and not in the Library package. In this scenario you are responsible for the File Management.

    That depends on why it won't open.  Most of the time it means the file is corrupted and unlikely to be recovered. If you saved it right after adding or copying a LOT of layers - then it might just be the layer limit and we can attempt to recover it.

    Hi Steadyalberta,
    Something might be preventing Photoshop from being able to save your selection on the dialog window properly. You might try right clicking and choose Run as Administrator on the Photoshop icon when launching (Windows) or test if the behavior persists when using a newly created admin user account.

    I have researched Internet - ADOBE and others - to find a solution, but no luck! (see under)
    The problem started around one year ago but I was able to open Bridge and go to Photoshop from there until recently.
    Now I get "Error Code 16" in Bridge too when I am trying to go to Photoshop.
    I have tried everything I could think of (including creating a new Administrator-user) with help from my Internet research and my own pretty good experience (I started working with computer systems as a Systems Analysts 1968...... - now it is only PCs)
    I miss my Photoshop and Bridge a lot - it is very frustrating to have this problem, but I can see I am not the only one!!!

    This happens to me as well. However, I have a shortcut on my desktop as well as my quick start bar. When this has happened to me, I can usually log back in without restarting, by using the shortcut on the desktop rather than the usual quick start bar.
    I know this sounds weird, but it has worked for me about 80% of the time.

    It sounds like you've restored Windows on your PC and iTunes is no longer opening and running normally. 
    I'd recommend using the instructions found at step 4 and 5 in this article to repair or remove/reinstall your iTunes installation:
