Try using /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility to repair file permissions.

When I try to setup my new iPad air, I go through all the steps for the iCloud sign-in and choosing security questions and what not. But after I hit the agree to the terms and conditions... I just got an iPad mini, when I try to upload my iPhone backup from my Mac i get the message to upgrade my iTunes. I can not seen to find where the download link is for iPads on apple website. Can anyone help?
The message is referring to iTunes on your computer, not the iPad : http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
The built-in apps on the iPad can only be updated via iOS updates, so if your iPad mini is on iOS 6.0.2 then its up-to-date -
When I try to put an audiobook on my iPod, I get message the "iPod may only contain content fro two Audible accounts." I had an old Audible account, which I used to download books. I cancelled that and recently opened a new Audible account and downloaded the book that will not transfer to the iPod. I also have an iTouch which I bought second-hand, and the previous owner may have had an Audible account.

How to play pencast PDF files from a Livescribe pen like the normal computer software can?
I would love my students to open and play a pencast PDF file from a Livescribe pen on their iOS devices like the normal computer software can. Any help? Other apps that could play the audio and video of these types of files?
If it's a PDF with multimedia, it won't play in Adobe Reader. It doesn't support multimedia.
You might try the (paid) PDF Expert app. -
When I try to download a PDF from Adobe DC, I get an error message: "Adobe Acrobat Reader DC could not open 'nrneph.2015.33.pdf' because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)"
I am using a Macbook Pro, OSX 10.9.5, Safari browser. Previous versions of Adobe Acrobat have worked fine for years.
WGCWhat's the name of the file you are attempting to open? Is it "ScreenFlow_4.5.2.dmg"? If it is the correct name then the message is correct and you are attempting to open a file with DMG files extension and not one with a PDF file extension. Adobe Reader opens PDF files an not any other file type.

Normally you will be asked to confirm software installation and updates, which is what that window should be for. However, the "Name" is the "User" name as shown in System Preferences > Users & Groups. Is "apple" your User name? If not, try entering what your User name is and then the password that goes with it. -

Of course you could try and fix all user privileges.
Also: do you save to harddisk? You should.
Try and delete preferences.
Did you uninstall, run the Cleaner tool and then reinstall Illustrator after updating the OS? -
When I try to make a new or open a podcast in GB the program quits.
Everytime I try anything to do witht the podcasting part of GB it quits. However, the music part does not. Also, I looked this up os discussions already and repaired my permissions but I could not find and .plt or .cs files in my GB folder. I was able to use the podcast part of GB when I changed user but I would like to use it in the current user.
I hope someone can help out thereIt's ".plist", and they are not in your GB folder, search your entire home directory.

I keep about 5 pages open at all times in the tray and when I open a new page all open with the new one on the top of the stack. My computer did not do that in the past. What did I do and how do I correct the problem? Any help would be appreciated.

When I try to restore my iTunes library from DVD, iTunes stops copying the files after some minutes
On 2 of my 9 DVDs, iTunes stops copying and I can't do anything with iTunes anymore. I have to reboot my computer. So I'm not able to bring back all my files. Has anyone got help?
Thanks but I already did read all of the help notes, which aren't very helpful for this. I did find out the problem- Apple.....they evidently changed one of the major upsides to their old software- being able to back up your entire library onto dvd's- so you can longer do that or restore from the dvds created from older versions of itunes. I suspect greed is at play in that Apple now wants you to pay $24.95 per year to use a "cloud" service where they back it up for you. I can buy a lifetime supply of back up dvds for one year's worth of cloud. So I am now looking into other music software as I am Appled-out. There is no reason for them to take away the back up portion of the software other than to sell you thrir cloud service. As we have already given them a ton of money for 5 Ipods and a bunch of music, I think we have contributed enough. Time to look to solutions outside of the Apple money tree. But thank you for reading and replying.

My 2009 macbook pro has 'kernel panic' - it is running Lion - I have visited the nearest Apple Store twice, & tried repeatedly to re-install Lion, then recover from Time Machine.
However, the problem persists - anyone have any ideas??

When I try to connect my iPhone to iTunes it comes up with the error code 0xE8000004
I have just finished restoring my iPhone 4 and upon trying to connect to iTunes to set the phone up I receive the following pop up message:
"The iPhone could not be activated because of an unknown error (0xE8000004). Please try again later"
I have tried switching the USB ports and even tried on another computer so I'm not sure what to do next.Hey eventsjordan1,

After doing the initial restore function, I'm trying to delete phots from the system. The itures instructions says to click the photos button the unselect photos or albums, but see no photos button. How can I delete the photos to gain some storage space?
1, you can't at the moment, though with iOS 5 in the Autumn, from http://www.apple.com/ios/ios5/features.html#photos :
Even organize your photos in albums — right on your device
2, by removing it from you synced from and re-syncing. Only photos taken with the iPad, copied to it via the camera connection kit, or saved from emails/websites etc can be deleted directly on the iPad (either via the trashcan icon in the top right corner if viewing the photo in full screen, or via the icon of the box with the arrow coming out of it in thumbnail view)
3, the location of the photos that you synced to the iPad should be listed on the iPad's Photos tab when connected to your computer's iTunes.
4, you can copy the photos from your iPad to your computer : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 . You should also be able to delete them from the iPad as part of the transfer process to your computer, and it's then your choice whether to add them to your sync photo list so as to copy them back to the iPad. Copying them to your computer would allow you to organise them into folders and therefore be able to sync them back into separate albums.
5, I don't use Dropbox either. There are some third-party browser apps in the iTunes App Store that allow you to download pages so that you can view them when offline e.g. Atomic Web (the whole page is saved within Atomic Web, it doesn't place a photo into the Photos app)
6, deleting content should help. If you remove an app from your iPad then you also remove the content that it's got on the iPad - so if you then decide to reinstall it back onto the iPad then you will need to manually add back any content that you want in it. None of the Apple built-in apps (including Photos) can be removed from the iPad
