When I try to update to the newest version of itunes it won't let me. Why?

It also says 'the path cannot be found. Verify you have access to this folder and try again or try to find the folder 'iTunes.msi' from which you can install the product iTunes' I have found this folder and entered it in but the same thing comes up.

Just updated to the newest version of iTunes, when connecting it prompts me to update my iPhone to the newest version of IOS; however, when I hit download it says I have purchases that need to sync but where and how do I do this on the newest version? It isn't doing it automatically and I am unable to find the sync button that was available on previous versions of iTunes. I know this sounds like a newbie question, but I have been using iTunes for over five years now. I recently updated to the newest version of iTunes (10.5 I think) and ever since that I have not been able to access the iTunes store. It has been over a week now and I am really confused. The status bar will just freeze and then it will disappear when I click to go on the store. I have tried reinstalling iTunes and that hasn't worked. Not sure what to do. Thanks for any suggestions.

I've got the same problem, and have reinstalled my entire system and haven't installed any Anti Virus or Spyware programs yet, and still can't get into the stores.
When I wrote last week to tech support they couldn't help me via email, and to me that I might need to go to the fee based support to get this resolved.

Had same problem and solved it without having to reinstore any music or movies:
1. Delete old Library file
2. Go to the 'Previous iTunes Libraries' folder and copy one of the earlier files - note, they have a date extension, e.g. 'iTunes Library 2011-11-01'.
3. Paste this file in your iTuners folder and rename file by removing the date extension - 'iTunes Library'
You should have all your music and paylists in tact, unless it was a really old previous file.

I would like to update to the newest version of itunes. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling. It simply won't update. Everytime I plug in my iphone it says the iphone can't run because it needs the updated version of itunes.

Is there an update for the newest version of iTunes. This option "File > Display Duplicates" no longer appears as an option under "File." I just got a new PC and copied my music files onto a portable drive from my old PC and pasted them into the iTunes folder on the new PC. It appears there are several duplicate files. Looking to delete my duplicate songs as simply as possible instead of single track by singe track. Any help would be appreciated.

So earlier today I updated to the newest version of itunes and ever since I've been having problems syncing devices. I have plugged my iphone in and it will say its sync in the menu list on the left side of itunes but isn't working

I downloaded the newest version of itunes and ever since I've been having problems. When I connect my iphone to itunes, it will say its synced up, however when i'm trying to add music its just not allowing it to happen.
Also when I try to restore the Iphone or check for updates, It says connect via USB to check for updates or restore. The same with attemting to sync apps
I've reinstalled itunes several times and removed and reinstalled my portable devices. And still nothing. When I first plug the iphone in, it will to that auto play Windows 7 does and allows pictures to be saved onto the PC.
It seems like the syncing is working with some things and now others. Any idea's would be delightful??

I feel its more of my sync drivers for itunes/iphone not working if that makes sense. Its not my itunes that stops responding, its more of that if the phone syncs up it fails to anything further.

When I plug in the USB to my computer, it makes the proper sound, but I do not see the device identified in iTunes and therefore cannot sync it. Instead, it opens to the file location for my iPad. The following is applicable:
If you have iOS 4.2.1 or later on the iPod and there was version compatible with that version, then you should be able to get a compatible version by:
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

The screen with an iTunes logo and cord indicates the device is in recovery mode, and will need to be restored by using iTunes. Take a look at the articles below for more information.

I can get it downloaded onto my computer, but when I try to install it I get this error message:

right click the download link and click "save target as" and then choose the location u want iTunes installer to be in. Right click the installer file then select 'run as administrator' to install.
