When I update a cell in one file folder I want that same cell
When I update a cell in one file folder called (X) I want that same cell to updated in a different file folder called (Y). Can this be done?

thanksYour device can hold apps from multiple IDs, but to update them you have to swicth identities which is time consuming. If possible use only the one ID. If you need to reset the password for your old ID visit My Apple ID.

I have iCloud on my iMac, macbook and iPhone. However, when I update my contacts on one, it does not update on any of the other devices. The calendar seems to be working. Any suggestions?
On the iMac and MacBook open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Contacts, then reselect it then restart the Macs.
On the iPhone tap Settings > iCloud
Switch Contacts off then back on then restart the iPhone.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears. -
I wish to link or send a cell from one file or "shell" with a specific quantity or text to another cell in another file or "shell". For example. I wish to send all general ledger (one data enty File or "sheet") entries into their specific individual accounts. (in seperate files or "sheets"). Is this possible in Numbers?

I'm wondering if you have to Apples IDs or iTunes IDs and have puchased apps on both accounts.I have the same issue, and must supply both accounts' passwords in order to update apps. From my research here, there's no way to merge the two accouts. It is aggrivating, indeed.

My husband bought an iPad 2. I have a Mac. ITunes is in my name but I have turned sharing on. When we updated to OS5 we lost all the free apps that he downloaded in his user name. Is there no way to update using my iTunes without losing his software. He is frustrated using the iPad because he never knows whether to use his user name or my user name.
Apps are only tied to one account... You can set up two iTunes accounts on your computer, however, and let his iPad sync to his account. If he has never backed up his apps to a computer, however, he will have to redownload all the apps. Afterwards, he can backup to iCloud instead of your computer.

Ideally you need to boot from the disk as you have no other media advisable. (e.g your hard drive)
Without some form of system disk or restore you wont be able to diagnose the problem with your hard drive.
By using a Mac OS X system disk you can load up the Disk Utilities and repair the hard drive if shown it's available. If it's not available you would need to replace the hard drive and reinstall Mac OS. Without any disk to support you, you are going to struggle.
You can obtain replacement disk, both retail copies or system disk on the Internet.
If you know what version of Mac OS X you had install (I'm guessing that it would have been 10.3, but would recommend 10.4) A retail disk is normally black with a colored 'X' on it, while system disk are always.
Always try and obtain a copy of the system restore disks (Gray) for your iBook
Ebay is another outlet that has genuine system disk for sell, but like any auction site, it's as and when someone is selling them.
The only other thing you could do is take it to a Apple repair agent who could check the hard drive on your behalf. That way you can get confirmation if the problem is the drive or some other fault. They may even help restore the OS for you.
I can't think of anything else to try without some form of disk to help you.
There maybe just one other small thing you could try.
When booting up, firmly rest your palm of your hand on the iBook next to the tracker pad on the left side.
If it works then it's another fault that I'm aware of. -
None of the above have worked. Ipad completely bricked. This began when merely updating IOS software as instructed. Now Apple want to charge me for using their crappy software as directed. Surely this is not only immoral but potentially illegal.

That procedure eventually leads you to the need to restore it.
Make sure you are following the instructions in this procedure to the letter. Here they are, with emphasis on some easily overlooked requirements:
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release only the Sleep/Wake button.
Continue pressing and holding the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.Note: If you see the "low battery" screen, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears (iTunes icon and USB connector) release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the "recovery mode" alert ("iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode").
Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you do not see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. Be patient since it sometimes takes several of these attempts before you are successful.
If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Select the iPad in iTunes and choose "restore from backup". This assumes you have a backup. If you do not, you will have to download all your purchased iTunes content again. You do not have to pay for anything you already purchased.
If you still can't get it to work, you have done all you can and only Apple will be able to help. -

Downgrading iOS levels is not supported by Apple.
iOS 6 levels should run fine on your iPod Touch 4g but you should first update to iOS 6.1.2 which is the latest to see if that helps your problem. -

It is not intended for the iPad. It would be somewhat cumbersome to have to use your iPad at a kiosk or a movie theater to print a boarding ticket.
The app was designed to be used on the iPhone and the iPod Touch. -
JSP page messes up when there is an error with one file.
Good morning/afternoon/evening.
I am not sure if this a JSP or error handling or XML type question and so I have posted here only.
I have a JSP page that loads a series of XML files, the only problem is that if one file has incorrect syntax then the whole page fails, I was wondering if there is anything in the way that I should structure my JSP code, or if there was a way to test if my xml file was vaild before trying to load it, many thanks in advance.You could also put try/catch statements around each individual xml import.
That way if one fails, you print an error message for that one, and then continue.
If you use JSTL it has a <c:catch> tag for exception handling, and several powerful XML handling features. -
What this does for me is allow me to find rarely accessed websites by looking under different kinds of categories of favorite places. If I'm restricted to only one location for the data it makes it harder to find.

In the past, if I created a new file folder and saved a webpage to the new folder, it would persist even after I saved it a 2nd time to a different folder. Now, if I save it to a 2nd folder, it will disappear from the 1st folder.You can do a Copy & Paste in the Bookmarks Manager (Shift+Ctrl+B) to create a copy of a bookmark.<br />
You can also drag the website's favicon on the left end of the location bar to a folder into the Bookmarks menu drop down list or to a folder in the Bookmarks side bar (Ctrl+B) or onto the Bookmarks Toolbar.<br />
In the side bar you need to click to the left of the icon to prevent Firefox from opening the bookmark.

I found the solution to a Mavericks bug on the Mail program. How can I share it? Several of my mail boxes stopped functioning properly when I updated to Mavericks. The title of the mails stored in the mailbox appear, but the content was unavailable.
After 4 long hours at the phone with the Apple staff unable to help me, I discovered that if I change the name of the mailbox, the contents of the mails stored there become available.

My ipod 4th gen won't update to the new one with imessage and all that.
I got my ipod touch in march 2011. So its not ios 5. But everytime i plug it in this is what happens step by step.
1. Itunes comes up like usual and asks me if i want to updated my ipod to 5.0.1.
2. The tag your pictures come up.
3.I tag the pitures and say ok to the updating.
4. the sound comes up to say that my pics are uploaded.
5.it contacts the apple people.
6.it says the are some pucheses that haven`t been transefed. but i click continue
7.it says that it will restore and backup.(update too)
8.it starts backing it up.
9. it says and error occurered while backing it up.(-43) but i hit update anyways and continue
10. its says that it cant be restored because the ipod cannot be found.
it never axctually gets to the state of updating. in wont restore. I have tried updating itunes to 10.5 and putting the iopod into recovery mode. when i put it into reconvery mode and plug it back in, itunes says you have to restore it. i hit restore but then itunes says it cant and then the ipod is sunddenly normal again, like it was never put into recovery mode.Try:

When I start my macbook a flashing file folder with a ? mark appears in the middle of my screen.
When I start my mac book a flashing file folder with a question mark in the middle appears in the middle of my screen.
That folder with the question mark icon means that the MacBook can't find the boot directory. That can either mean it can't find the hard drive or the Operating System data on the hard drive is somehow corrupted.
Put your install DVD into the optical drive and reboot. As soon as you hear the boot chime, hold down the "c" key on your keyboard (or the Option key until the Install Disk shows up). That will force your MacBook to boot from the install DVD in the optical drive.
When it does start up, you'll see a panel asking you to choose your language. Just press the Return key on your keyboard once. It will then present you with an Installation window. Completely ignore this window and click on Utilities in the top menu and scroll down to Disk Utility and click it. When it comes up is your Hard Drive in the list on the left?
If it is then click on the Mac OS partition of your hard drive in the left hand list. Then select the First Aid Tab and run Repair Disk. The Repair Disk button won't be available until you've clicked on the Mac OS partition on your hard drive. If that repairs any problems run it again until the green OK appears and then run Repair Permissions.
If your hard drive isn’t recognized in Disk Utility then your hard drive is probably dead.
