when i updated my iphone 4 to the latest software, it warned me that i would lose the "purchased" items on the phone. i agreed with this and carried on, but when i had updated it, everything on the phone was lost!! contacts, pictures everything!!!!!! is there a way that i can get these things back? when i agreed with the notice, it didnt say id lose everything else that i did not purchase!!

I'm trying to update my iPhone 5 to IOS 7 through iTunes. I get a pop up saying I need to update my iTunes to 11.0.5 before I can update my iPhone. The problem is my iTunes is current, and no update for iTunes is found. Any one have any suggestions?
I had the same problem. My phone wasn't finding it so I tried plugging it into my laptop and it said I needed the latest iTunes which I already had.... I unplugged my phone from my laptop and did a soft reset to my phone (hold down the lock button and home button at the same time until your phone turns off) once it turns back on you should find the update... Click general... Software update. Worked for me!

I cannot install the latest version of itunes as I have old versions of bonjour and quicktime. I can't remove these programs either. Help please as I have tried almost everything I have found so far on the the web.
Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (The results from mydigitallife and Major Geeks are worth checking.)
After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour and QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp. Restart the PC, and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time? -
I was Updating my Iphone 4s to iOS 6 through itunes. an error happended now iphone stuck on connect to itunes logo screen . tried tukrning on and of it connects but itunes does not recognize so i can restore .. any ideas?
Dont know if accidently fixed it or not i got it to be recogniced by itune im restoring it now. i held the power/sleep button till turned off. then while holding the home button under the screen connected it to the usb wire .. also i change the usb port i was using on my computer dont know if it was luck or what but glad i got my phone back.

With the latest version of itunes, are you able to search your library by purchase date? My prior itunes software had Name, Time, Artist, Album, Genre, Rating, Plays and Purchased. With Version 11.0.3 of itunes, 'Purchased' is not a tabbed option to sort. Can this be added?

Great question, we simply need to check "Purchased Date" from the View Options menu.
In iTunes 11, click the "View" menu and choose "Show View Options". Located under "Stats" is the "Purchase Date" option.

I am trying to get the latest version of ITunes on my laptop, but the download gets "interrupted" every time. THen I can't synch with any devices. I've tried recycling ITunes and downloading again. I am not sure I've actually uninstalled the old version though. How should I proceed?

She plugged in my phone to update through iTunes (which took all night) and in the morning it was completed. We backedup to the icloud but now mu pictures and contacts are missing. hello, i have updated my iphone 5 black 16 gb to ios 7.0.2 (11a501) and my battery life of my iphone has become worse it gives 9 hours of usage with out doing anything, i have done everything every tip that is available online i had 3gs and 4s so i know how to save battry life,i even tried not using my iphone as well but still no change at all!. i have upadted to ios 7.0.3 then downgraded it , i thought battery may be an issue ,so i put brand new battery still no change , so what should i do ? , update to the latest version which is ios 7.0.4 or wait for the ios 7.1 , i was using iphone 4s running on ios 6.1 it gave me 3 days of battery timing , iphone 5 seemed to be very bad for me ,help ! ?

iTunes compelled me to download the latest version, before I could complete a transaction (which, needless to say, was botched). I have Windows XP, and I cannot open iTunes now without freezing or crashing my computer. This is utterly frustrating, since I can't even play any holiday music, much less update my iPod.
Can I uninstall, and reinstall the older version? I do not need all the bells and whistles, and I detest the new format (even if it were to run on my computer)?
I'd love to be able to access my Xmas playlist someday.What didn't work? Removing everything or just the older version of Bonjour? Did you follow the instructions in the link I provided above to walk you through the process?
Perhaps it would be a better idea to post this in the iTunes forums, since it is an issue with iTunes and your iPod Shuffle.

I have 4 computer systems, 2 of which run under Windows XP w/ Service Pack 3. I have dedicated these systems to the task of reading all of my PDF Files which I have collected from my recent college career. The desktop system I want to use is an old Dell Optiplex GX240 with Acrobat Reader 4.0. The other Windows XP system I have is an old HP Laptop with Adobe Reader 8.1.4 installed.
