Sonny3300, your signature says "Aperture 2" - is that correct? Then you need this trouble shooting guide:

  • When I try to update an app in the App Store i get a message "There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (13)"  I have tried many many times and keep getting the same message.  How do I resolve?

When I try to update an app in the App Store i get a message "There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (13)"  I have tried many many times and keep getting the same message.  How do I resolve?

First take the steps recommended in this support article. If there's no change, continue as follows.
    Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
    ~/Library/Cookies/com.apple.appstore.cookies
Right-click or control-click the line and select
Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Quit the application if it's running. Move the selected item to the Trash. Relaunch the application and test.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination  command-C. In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

  • Library recovery: how can I recover a library after I get this message: There was an error opening the database for the library "/Users/Jim/Pictures/Libraries/K2 Library.aplibrary"???

Library recovery: how can I recover a library after I get this message: "There was an error opening the database for the library “/Users/Jim/Pictures/Libraries/K2 Library.aplibrary”???

Thanks a lot, Frank. The lsregister did the trick! I am testing this on 10.8.2.
http://support.apple.com/kb/TA24770 : I deleted the "com.apple.LaunchServices.plist", and restarted the Finder, even logged off and on again; did not change anything. The file has not been recreated, so it may not be used anymore.
    http://itpixie.com/2011/05/fix-duplicate-old-items-open-with-list/#.ULZqa6XAoqY
The direct "copy and paste" from the post did not work: I had to retype it :
/System/Library/Frameworks/CoreServices.framework/Versions/A/Frameworks/LaunchSe rvices.framework/Versions/A/Support/lsregister -kill -r -domain local -domain system -domain user
but then it worked like a charm!
    Cheers
    Léonie
And btw: I turned on the "-v" option for the lsregister to see, what was going on, and saw plenty of error messages (error -10811); so I repeated the command with "sudo". After that I still saw five iPhotos. Repeating as regular user finally got rid of the redundant iPhoto entries. It looks like registering as super user may be causing this trouble.

Help, i'm unable to update anything in the app store and get this message: There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (20)? I updated my account info and still no luck...
And yes, I have tried later.

I have this problem with the APP store.  There was an error in the App Store. Please try again later. (null)  Any idea as to how to fix this?

Does this happen when you try to update?
These guys have a cool solution that has helped with that error when you can't update an app: http://support.iawriter.com/help/kb/mac-questions/the-app-store-fails-with-there -was-an-error-in-the-app-store-please-try-again-later-null
NOTE: the instructions are specifically for their app but the solution has also worked for other apps too. They are, however, more advanced steps so proceed with caution.

  • The required folder cannot be found. There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later.

So this is the message I am getting in iTunes. This appears everytime I open the software. It also happens everytime I try to download new apps, films, music, etc. Stangely enough this does not happen with podcasts and iTunes U content.
This started happening after updating to Lion and adding a second hard disk instead of the DVD player. I also transfered my 'Users' folder away from my SSD boot disc into the new hard drive.
I've tried changing the iTunes media folder location and then reselecting my actual iTunes media folder. No success!
I've tried reinstalling iTunes, then upgraded to 10.6. No success!
I've tried deauthorizing the computer then authorizing again and I get this message:
"There was an error storing your authorization information on this computer. The required directory was not found or has a permissions error. Correct this permissions problem and try again, or deauthorize this computer if the permissions cannot be changed." No success!
I've contacted the Fast Lane Mac support. No one knew what was going on. And no email as promised. No success!
I've now run out of ideas... Any help is appreciated!

    Homer Leon wrote:
Why can't I connect to WiFi when asked for a password
Judging from what you wrote, because there is something wrong with the settings or the password or passphrase. Make sure all devices use the same type of encryption, and make sure you enter the correct password. WRT to this, read
AirPort: Joining an encrypted WEP or WPA Wi-Fi network
    <http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1126>
AirPort: How to enter a hexadecimal 64-character pre-shared key for WPA

I have removed the password requirement from some of my WiFi options
    Bad idea.

  • While playing tv shows offline, an error message pops up. "we could not complete your itunes store request. the network connection could not be established. there was an error in the itunes store. please try again". It interrupts the viewing

I'm running Leopard and whatever the latest iTunes is. Any help appreciated.

I've got an Apple ID problem, too. All of the sudden in the midnight between August 31st and September 1st, the new apps I picked up on the App Store hung forever 'Waiting..' in my iPhone and never turned 'Loading'. When a substantial amont of time had passed, they reported, they 'could not connect to the App Store' and .. disappeared! Well what they told was not perfectly true because I could however connect to the store as I could browse and pick the apps, but the apps just didn't load. I tried to log into my account in iTunes on my Windows 7 laptop, too, and there got exactly the message in the topic title.
It appeared later my Apple ID did not completely fail because when I switched from my home WiFi to the phone 3G, everything worked just as nothing happened. Logically, this intimated my WiFi had flaws. Or, some place between my WiFi router and Apple servers did, to be precise. My router was not to blame because I did no changes to it whatsoever.
All right, it is Saturday today and my ISP is running in unmanned mode meaning no hotline, but I call them on Monday unless the problem disappears by itself. I just wonder what I say, because from non-i-world point of view everything works well, and I know for sure guys in the ISP support don't own any i-stuff, (because they are all android fanatics) . I'm not telling them my Apple ID to let them reproduce the problem on their home equipment, which means I come almost totally proofless.

  • I can't open aperture-  I get this message:  There was an error opening the database for the library "/Users/Kristy/Pictures/Aperture Library.aplibrary". :

I can't seem to open Aperture, don't know how to back up the library (I have pics I just put on Aperture last week that aren't backed up) so I can just rebuild the library.  Will I lose all my pics if I choose to rebuild the library?

don't know how to back up the library
Simply drag your Aperture library to an external drive with enough free disk space to make a backup copy for now.
What happened before you first got this error message? Did you import new images into Aperture? Did you install new software? Or update software?
Did you move your aperture library to a new location?
Does the panel with the error message show an error log? What does it say? The first 50 lines will suffice.
Will I lose all my pics if I choose to rebuild the library?
Rebuild is a save standard trouble shooting operations. But it may take a long time, and if your mac has other problems, in interruption of the rebuild may make things worse, so don't do it without copying your library some where safe.

What do you mean by reinstalling the library? Did you reinstall Aperture?
You might start the trouble shooting with using the Aperture Library First Aid Tools - repairing the permissions, repairing the library, and rebuilding, if necessary, see:
Aperture 3 User Manual: Repairing and Rebuilding Your Aperture Library
Before rebuilding the library, make a backup of the Aperture Library, if you do not have one.
