Ok, it's a 4 year old picture, but taken with a digital camera as jpeg...! This cannot be the problem really, but I'm despaired after trying since days...! Thank you all for any hint you've got for me!

If you asking me, I would suggest to additonally use a second storage service which also allows you to store your pictures over the 30 days period. I personally use Dropbox with automatic upload for that (https://db.tt/cMEgDUFZ), but there are also other storage services like Flickr for example.

  • Computer shuts down and reboots when downloading ios 5

my friend its trying to update his ipod touch 4th gen 64gb to ios 5 but both his i mac pro and windows 7 computer shuts down and reboots with the download gets to 50%

Searching the forum before posting is a good idea. This subject has been covered ad nauseum
Bottom line: Uninstall the Google Maps update by going to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications>Maps and hitting the Uninstall Updates button.
There is a bug in the GPS driver.  Lenovo claims to be working on it.  Do not install the maps update until Lenovo fixes it.

  • I have ipad mini 2 updated to ios 7.1.2.  Now ipad keeps shutting down and rebooting to the apple logo. I factory reset and redownloaded software in recovery mode.  Still happening.  What else can I do?

I have ipad mini 32gb.  I updated to IOS 7.1.2. Since then ipad keeps shutting down and rebooting to the apple logo.  It happens so many times I cannot use the ipad.   I have tried factory reset and reinstalled software in recovery mode. Ipad is only 1 1/2 years old and in great condition.  Is there anything else I can do besides soend $200 to fix it?

Sounds like a hardware issue to me going by the CRC error you mentioned. I'd make a Genius Bar reservation (you'll need your Apple ID) if you have a nearby Apple Store and get it evaluated. The evaluation is free but repair/replacement could incur other charges.

My Ipod Touch have a black screen when an app shut down and I can not shut down the Ipod. The screen is still black and I did the press two buttons solution and it doesn't work. What I have to do now?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • X shuts down and reboots

Has anyone experienced the phone shutting down and rebooting. I can have my phone sitting next to me and it will go to a black screen and the eye pops up and reboots.

Rebooting of the DX was the major point why I returned that phone.
I had my DX for 4 days and it was rebooting constantly, about 7 - 9 times a day.
VZ tech told me that it is a known issue with DX and therefore I returned it thinking to get Incredible.
However, my brother-in-law that has Incredible and his phone reboots too (though not as often as my DX). That makes me thinking what if problem is not a phone (Droid X) in particular, rather than Moto Blur skin or Android OS in general.
I was reading that rebooting may in fact be related to Advance Task Killer if it is being set to Auto-Kill mode as it could be killing some running processes which are required by OS.If Auto-Kill is disabled and applications are being killed manually it should resolve reboot problem.
DX hardware has 512 MB of RAM but in my case I was ending up with less than 50 MB (less than 10%) of RAM only after an hour of phone just sitting there without single application being touched by myself. I understand that about 200 MB is being used by OS and another 100 MB is being used by all essential subprocesses (Moto Blur) but that should leave me with 200 MB of RAM not 50. Those little pesky bloatware programs that VZ forces on you should be either disabled, uninstalled, or not being loaded into memory constantly.
In regards to controversy of needed or not Advance task killer, I am personally felling that I needed that just to kill all of the bloatware that VZ placed on that phone and which is being loaded constantly into memory. So as far as I am concern, issue with reboot is all VZ fault and that is why this is a "known issue" for them.

  • Hi, while listening to a song my iPad music shut down and I can't open it any more. Do you know how to fix this? iPad 2

Hi, while listening to a song my iPad music shut down and I can't open it any more. Do you know how to fix this?
    iPad 2

Try closing the Music app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Music app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Music app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My Iphone 4 shut down and I can`t turn it on

    Hello,
my Iphone shut down and I can`t turn it on.
I`vd tryed Press and Hold the Sleep/Wake Button and the Home Button at the Same Time.. It dosen`t works
I`vd tryed the same thing except doing it while the iPhone is plugged into the computer with iTunes open. It doesen`t works
    Now I`m helpless.
    Can someone help me?

    Hey Muddi from Germany!
I have an article with a few suggestions for you regarding this issue:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
If you are still having this issue after attempting these troubleshooting steps, you will want to see the advice at the end of the article:
My issue is still not resolved. What do I do next?

    Helpful Links Regarding Malware Protection
An excellent link to read is Tom Reed's Mac Malware Guide.
Also, visit The XLab FAQs and read Detecting and avoiding malware and spyware.
    See these Apple articles:

OS X Lion- Protect your Mac from malware

If you require anti-virus protection Thomas Reed recommends using Dr.Web Light from the App Store. It's free, and since it's from the App Store, it won't destabilize the system. If you prefer one of the better known commercial products, then Thomas recommends using Sophos.(Thank you to Thomas Reed for these recommendations.) If you already use Sophos, then be aware of this if you are using Mavericks: OS X Mavericks- Sophos Anti-Virus on-access scanner versions 8.0 - 9.1 may cause unexpected restarts
From user Joe Bailey comes this equally useful advice:
    The facts are:
    1. There is no anti-malware software that can detect 100% of the malware out there.
    2. There is no anti-malware that can detect anything targeting the Mac because there
is no Mac malware in the wild, and therefore, no "signatures" to detect.
    3. The very best way to prevent the most attacks is for you as the user to be aware that
the most successful malware attacks rely on very sophisticated social engineering
techniques preying on human avarice, ****, and fear.
    4. Internet popups saying the FBI, NSA, Microsoft, your ISP has detected malware on
your computer is intended to entice you to install their malware thinking it is a
        protection against malware.
    5. Some of the anti-malware products on the market are worse than the malware
from which they purport to protect you.
    6. Be cautious where you go on the internet.
    7. Only download anything from sites you know are safe.
    8. Avoid links you receive in email, always be suspicious even if you get something
you think is from a friend, but you were not expecting.
    9. If there is any question in your mind, then assume it is malware.

  • Shutting down and rebooting from xfce4 (SOLVED)

I am wanting to shut down and reboot my system via xfce4. right now the two buttons are grayed out. I tried added myself to the power group by doing
    gpasswd -a username power
That didn't seem to do anything at all. On the wiki, it talks about using dbus and hal (as an alternative to doing the sudo method) but i already have dbus and hal started by default and the two buttons are still grayed out.
if there is already a message like this please guide me there. Any help would be appreciated.
CORRECTION: adding myself to the "power" group did work.

Strange - I used the sudo-hack and it worked for me. But after it stopped working, I saw the new instructions and enabled both hal and dbus and voila, everything worked.
I did not add myself to the sys-group, so it should be something else. Did you install the whole xfce4-package or did you select certain packages? check if '# /etc/rc.d/hal restart' and '# /etc/rc.d/dbus restart' change anything...
    Zl.
Fyi: i installed xfce4 and xfce4-goodies. I'll try your codes now.

Hi, while listening to a song my iPad music shut down and I can't open it any more. Do you know how to fix this?

Did you try quitting the Music app and then restart the iPad?
Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
