What version exactly did you buy? If you bought CS6, then the license is perpetual and doesn't need any extension. If you bought CC, then you need to renew your plan every year. You can install each Adobe software on 2 machines with a single license for non-concurrent use.

I have aperture 3.2.4 on my laptop and have the serial number, but just bought a new MAC and I can't get the Ver 3.0 link to work. Anyone know how to move it from my laptop to our new mac?

That link is no longer available. Use "Migration Assistant" to copy your Applications from your old mac to the new Mac, then immediately run software update. Aperture Version 3.2 will not run on your new mac with Mavericks, you will have to Upgrade to version 3.4.5 at least - you can download this update from the Support page: Aperture 3.4.5
Then launch Aperture and enter your registration key and try now too update from version 3.4.5 to 3.5 from the AppStore. The AppStore will change your Aperture registration to an AppStore version, so you will able to reinstall by downloading from the AppSTore in future.
If you want transfer only Aperture and no other applications, do it manually: You will have to copy not only the application but folders from the libraries as well:
/Applications/Aperture.app
/Library/Application Support/Aperture/
~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/

I've just opened an Adobe ID and tried to download the 30 day Captivate 8 trial. The download obviously didn't work and it's now stuck going nowhere in my system, calling itself "Resume Download etc". I've looked at all the trouble shooting pages to no avail. Anyone know how I can find a real person to talk to about this?

I`m `propping` up this thread to to the top of the forums again as it`s been three months and not a single community member or Apple support personnel have replied, which I find discouraging.
I`ve tried everything - both the iOS device(s) and Apple TV have been upgraded (albeit reluctantly) to the latest versions, since iOS 7 looks like crap compared to iOS 6. Both use the same WiFi network. Bluetooth is set to `off`, as per the online tutorials on the Apple Support page.
I also tried shutting all of them down, including the router, waiting 30 seconds and turning the router, then the Apple TV then the iOS device on sequentially with 30 seconds in between each, again as per this discussion forum, and still nothing.
Why can Apple not make a technology, such as AirPlay, work with greater than 10%?
Any other ideas?

Hi I am a new iPad user and would like to know how to ensure I am using wifi instead of my network provider. At the top of my screen it is showing my providers name and a signal strength. I have a router at home that I want it to use. I will also be traveling to Italy tomorrow and want to ensure it automatically hooks up to the wifi where we will be staying. Any help would be much appreciated.
I copied this from another thread. I made the important line bold. Make sure that WiFi is turned on if you want to use WiFi first.
After successfully connecting to a wireless network, the network and network settings are saved on your iPad. If wi-fi access is on, when returning within range of a wireless network you have successfully connected your iPad with, your iPad will automatically connect to the wireless network, or it should. If 3G access is on, when leaving the range of an available wi-fi network you have access to, it will switch to AT&T's cellular network automatically. If both are on, your iPad should switch between the two automatically and seamlessly. Your iPad will always connect to the fastest wireless connection available at the time as long both options are enabled. Between an available wi-fi network that you have access to and are in range of and AT&T's cellular network, it will or should be the wi-fi network.

I recently broke my 2008 macbook. i was able to use an external hardrive to back up my data onto My Passport. I was going to buy a new computer but a friend told me sher had an older version of the iMac. (not sure how old but it doesnt have a camera if that helps) i was able to hook it up and turn it on but i ran into a few problems. 1) the "authentic" user or whatever it says is someone who previously used the computer. i added me as a user but im not sure how to make me the main user. 2) after hooking up My Passport, i was able to drag my files and copy them to the desktop.(i think i did it correctly) now, i dont know how to make my hard drive and applications and iformation the "main " info. The current apps on the iMac are super old versions of iTunes and iPhoto and such. 3) while trying to open the apps from my macbook on the iMac, it said it didnt have the right software to open these apps.
I am so computer illiterate so someone please help!!! Also, i do not have internet in my new apartment yet so if there is a way to make this happen without using the internet that would be preferred. sorry for the horrible spelling and poorly written paragraph.

I have an ipad and it's been refusing to connect to the wifi lately no matter where I go,

Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
when I go to "settings" on my iPhone 5 and hit the "Bluetooth" tab, the circular icon next to "Devices" is constantly spinning, ans now I can't get the phone to sync with the bluetooth in my car, etc.

Anyone know how to make a QT .mpg? (mpeg2 with sound)
I have a gig making QT file for this display that plays from a flash card, it just loops the content on the card but it needs a .mpg(mpeg2 file with sound) I can not seem to figure out hoe to make this kind of file. Compressor only makes m2v files and I can not play then in QT for some reason.
I have QT files that work in these devices so someone made them.
Any one know how to do this?

'How do you make MP2 audio in compressor' I hear you ask. Choose the DVD : MPEG-1 preset & turn off the video encoding, resulting in an audio only file (pay no attention to the file extension).
Combine this with the MPEG-2 video in BitVice Helper and the resulting .mpg is good to go.
Creating the files with compressor like this is handy for jobs that have multiple destinations.

No. You have to restore and thus erase the iPod. You have to options:
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone and use Remote Wipe to erase the contents of your device. If you have been using iCloud to back up, you may be able to restore the most recent backup to reset the passcode after the device has been erased.
You can also wipe the iOS device by installing the FindMyiPhone app on another iOS device and using that app to wipe the device.
