When starting up, the application insists on opening the Firefox Welcome page rather than the homepage specified in the preferences panel. (The latter opens nearly simultaneously, behind the Welcome Page.)
Working on an iMac, running OS 10.6.8. This problem has started fairly recently. (I also experienced a problem with "places," starting around the same time, which I was able to resolve using the Troubleshooting page.)

1) Please use the code tags when posting code or JNLP/HTML. It helps to retain indentation and avoids asterisks and plus sings being interpreted as formatting marks. To do that, select the code/JNLP etc. and click the CODE button seen on the Plain Text tab of the message posting form.
2) That launch file is invalid. You might check it (and the project in general) using JaNeLA.
3) The only place that SimpleSerial class could be, that the JRE would find, is in the root of aeon.jar. Is it actually there? -
When I am listening to the radio (streaming through itunes) my macbook pro will log me out, quitting all the applications I have running (often firefox, word processing, itunes, etc). Why?
It's very frustrating and I don't understand why it happens. It might happen other times, but I notice it the most when I'm streaming the radio through itunes, though I think it's also happened when I'm streaming music or shows from NPR, so I don't actually know if it's an itunes thing, or an internet thing? Or just my computer being stupid? But how can I fix it?

It seems clear to me that sometimes, seemingly randomly, software will access the video card (flash player, quicktime, Safari's HTML5 video player, etc) and it will cause a freeze and then log out.
However - it could just be video card + processor under load.
This didnt happen before 10.5.8 and I'm thinking it's not the new 27" display causing the issue.
I'm going to attempt to find time to revert back to 10.5.0 and then combo update back up to 10.5.7 which may be difficult as our IT is remote and we don't have access to Snow Leopard discs.
I may just have to bring my own in. -
When I have my Firefox browser running, if I bring up a document from my computer, it appears briefly, then disappears behind the browser. It shows in the taskbar, but won't stay on top until I minimize all other windows.

According to your description ,we seem to suffer a performance issue here.
Have you tried to open the task manager to check the system performance ? Is there any specific process occupied many system resources ?Will the issue occur only with the specific applications ?
We can try to restart the Windows Explorer process to have a check.
If it only occurred with the spefcific two applications ,we can try to end the other application processes manually from the task manager to have a check .
If this is caused by the specific application ,we may need to look for help from the third party support considering they are all the third party applications .

There is an option called Force Quit, which you can find under the apple ion in menu bar. open and select and force quit the VLC. what ever the application it should respond to force quit!

I am creating a form on LiveCycle Designer and I am trying to create a form that has a e-mail submit button. When the button is utilized it attaches the form to the e-mail in an plain text .xml format rather than the pdf format. Is there a quick fix?

You have the choice between xml or pdf, in later versions of designer you can choose with a dropdown on the email button Object palette, the "Submit As";
In earlier version you had to edit the XML Source and change the format from xml to pdf (or vice-versa);

Want to be able to open tabs in multiple rows, rather than in a single row. I used tab mix plus before, but it says it is not compatible with New tab Homepage. The older version of Firefox allowed this very easily.

The basic answer is that Apple has not programmed the capture routine with this capability. As such, you can always send QT feedback requesting this feature be added as a future enhancement. -
My IPhone 5, was backed up and restored. Music doesn't sync, when reconnecting device each time, it only offers restore or new phone rather than sync option. I have reinstalled ITunes but still this hasn't worked. Can anyone help please?
This problem started last year when ios 8 was released. I think apple is trying to force users to buy music on iTunes store and that's why it's impossible to sync other music and also that's the reason why they haven't solved this serious problem. That's really disappoints me and i'm angry with apple because i have like 10 gb of music in mp3 and i can't sync music from iTunes to my iPhone.

BobI am having trouble when my Edge Animate composition (banner ad) appears on a web page that uses jquery version 1.8.23. Some of the functionality of the host page no longer works. This occurs only when my composition is present & the functionality returns when another ad is displayed (either a Flash ad or a gif). It happens in Chrome Version 31.0.1650.63 m, Chrome Version 33.0.1738.0 canary & IE 11.
I had edited my Edge Animate files to use the Adobe CDN option & to point to another server (mine) so only the html file was needed to be placed in the ad rotator & on the host's server. I now have edited them again to include the Google CDN locations for version jquery 1.10.2 (http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.2/jquery.min.js). I am waiting for the host site to try this updated html file. When I visit just this new page & the old one that pointed to 1.7.1 for that matter, it works fine.
