I get an error when trying to install updates in Photoshop CS6. It says "Update Failed; Updates could not be applied." Anybody else have this probelm?

Brooks Potteiger I would recommend also reviewing the installation log for the update you are trying to apply.  You can find details on how to accomplish this at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

when trying to install update 10.5 it says the download has invalid signature and won't install. I run XP

I'm having similar problems with 10.5. I managed to install it but when I try to run itunes it doesn't open correctly and when I view my account the screen is not presented in the correct format. When I try to search for music it finds nothing. So I ran the diagnostics option but this came back with an error ' secure link to itunes failed'. It also said that the internet connection was verified but when I went into the help option it said I wasn't connected to the internet but as you can see I was and am. I've now uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, each time I uninstall I've followed the correct sequence as recommended:-
    1. Itunes
    2. Quicktime
    3. Apple software update
    4. Apple mobile device support
    5. Bonjour
    6. Apple application support
I've noticed now that 'quicktime' didn't get reinstalled, not sure if that's the problem. Also when I rebooted after the last Uninstall I received a new error message ' Applesyncnotifier.exe - unable to locate component'. I've also noticed that my CPU is running at 50% according to task manager when I've got apple loaded, but it goes down to less than 20% when it's uninstalled and even goes down to 0%. Clearly, there are a number of people with similar issues and Apple need to sort it quickly.

It appears Apple’s download servers are ‘overwhelmed’ today.  I couldn’t download the newest iTunes update or IOS 7 and there are a lot of discussions today about not being able to download. One poster said they had chatted with App Store support who confirmed the problem.
What updates? Here is a link for iTunes which worked for me.

  • Receive the message "unable to connect to itunes store" when trying to install updates for my apps

trying to install updates available for a number of app on my phon and keep getting the same message "unable to connect to itunes store"............

A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Error 0x8007F0F4 when trying to install update KB2686509

    Hello:
I have tried several times to install the recent security update KB2686509. Each time it fails with error 0x8007F0F4. Fixes that other people have reported online have not worked for me. For example, there is no file on my system called "faultykeyboard.log".
I also do not have a registry key named "Scancode Map" that I can delete. Any advice would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Richard Koett.

Hi Richard (and anyone else here!!),I run the WSUS server at a school of only around 700 computers. Some Win 7, some XPSP3.
ALL of the Win XP computers would not install this update.
As mentioned below, this was to do with a keyboard mapping problem...I.E. some keys disabled, such as the Windows Key.
I eventually found that removing the registry entry for the mapping, installing the update and then putting the reg back worked.
I have included here a .bat file script which will install the KB for you (assuming you fix the file paths within it of course :)
    First script:

I downloaded the KB file from: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29804 and called it "install.exe", and it uses the following commands for silent install: "
    /quiet /passive /norestart
The changes I made to it force the PC to reboot after install (I chose norestart before because the script needs to put the reg keys back in before anything else). Once it has restarted, WSUS should pick it up as being installed.
Hope this helps, and makes sense!!!! :)
I want to say I did NOT create this script in the first place, but I have modified it to make it my own and do what I like it to do. Origin:

  • My iPhone 5 went to recovery mode when trying to install update 6.1.4

A couple of hours ago, I got a prompt on my iPhone 5 to install update 6.1.4 over wifi (for the speakers). I turned on wifi in phone settings and clicked install and saw a tiny message saying 'Verifying, ..'
The next thing I saw was a symbol for connecting iphone usb to iTunes. When I did, Itunes said that my phone was in recovery mode and needed to be restored. Trusting that Apple would know what it is doing, I clicked okay, but stopped short of actually resoring when itunes warned me that my data would be lost and phone will be restored to factory settings. Data is everything!!!
I have important family pictures that haven't been backed up and I don't want to lose them. What do I do? It would have been so much better had Apple update warned me to backup before starting update. iPhone does not even turn on now. Help please!!! Very disappointed in Apple. Their own updates should not crash their own devices, and without any warning of data loss whatsoever.
Apple has become a big bully!!!
    Please Help..

firstly dont panic my friend..  if your phone is not turning ON, try a hard reset
Press and Hold down the Lock button [wch is on top] and the Home button...hold both of em together for 10 secs or till the time you see tghe apple logo
once you see the apple logo release the keys the phone will come back to life
if you find the the handset is in recovery mode you have no other option but to restore the device. Sorry but tht is the only thing you can do.  good luck

  • NSURLErrorDomain error -3001.)(102) when trying to install updates

    Good day,
I am receiving the above noted error message when trying to download the latest update for Mountain Lion (Aperture 3.4.2, Safari 6.0.2)
A search of the forums turned up a couple of ideas, including renaming the /var/folders/ directory and rebooting.  Sadly, none of these have worked.  Would anyone have any further suggestions?
    Thank you,

  • I'm trying to download Flash Player to my Macbook, and it keeps on stopping in the midst of downloading and saying "you need to quit safari" even though all of my Safari windows are closed, what do I do?

    Thanks for any help

    Cofeebean wrote:

Keep in mind that on the Mac, even if you close all windows of an application, the application itself may still be running with no windows open. If you have closed all Safari windows, look at the Dock to see if there is a glowing dot under the Safari icon. If there is a dot, Safari is still running, so click the Dock icon and then choose Safari/Quit Safari.
As an alternative to looking for the dot under an application in the Dock, I often use the Command-Tab keyboard shortcut to display the Application Switcher so I can see which applications are still open.
You don't have to open Activity Monitor to quit a program unless there really is no way to way to do it from the normal interface.
The only applications that quit when you close the window are the ones that only have one window, like System Preferences.

  • I keep getting an error message when trying to install updates

"Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw. Please visit the Camera Raw help documentation for additional information."
But when I try to run the updates, I get another error code, and absolutely no explanation why the updates won't install.  I'm working in CS5.  Normally importing RAW files from Nikon D 90, now trying to import RAW files from Canon 5D Mark 3.

This is the error message I get when I try to run the updates....

  • Repeatedly (daily)when trying to install update is not connecting to server

every time i restart my computer and connect to firefox, it "strongly recommends " that I install the latest update which I click ok to. When it tries to do it, it keeps running in the background with a screen and across the top it says connecting to server but it never does. I am having no other computer problems so I have no idea why this is happening. It has permission and it would keep spinning a little blue circle for hours without ever saying it cannot connect but it obviously can't. how can i either stop this or actually update. It is very annoying. I have tried to update manually and I get the same result. Thanks, Clair47

    Greetings maremma7171,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that you are trying to perform an update on your iMac and are prompted to enter your administrator password. When you enter your password; however, it is not accepted. In this case, you may want to consider changing your password for that user account. To complete this process, please refer to the attached article.
