So sorry to hear she has lost all her contacts like that. Sounds like you are saying the device completed a factory reset on it's own. Is that right? I have an LG and have lost my contacts and pictures. My daughter tried to unlock my phone and kept trying to unlock then she turned off the phone and when the phone came back on all my contacts, pictures and other data were gone. Is there a way to recover them?

HELP! I have an Iphone 4. I wanted to use my ipod feature and went to my husbands computer to take songs from his itunes. Somehow, all his information (i think restored) went to my phone, I have all his information. I lost all my contacts and pictures. Is there any way of getting them back! Thanks.
Sync with the computer you normally sync with. You cannot share songs that way with iTunes. If you sync with the computer you normally sync with then all your stuff will go back to your phone and your husbands stuff will be removed from your phone.

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service. For some reason, are you not using the device as designed?
As for other issues... basic troubleshooting from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Has any of this been tried? -

All contacts, calendars, photos etc should be on your computer as the iphone is designed to be synced to your computer.
Just sync them to your new iphone.

If updating to iOS 7 caused your contacts to disappear, please call your AppleCare number and tell the advisor your issue. He should have you escalated to a senior advisor in which they can further assist you as far as trying to get your contacts back to you.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

Reboot your router. You by chance dont have a netgear N300 WNR2000 router do you? I had one of those and would lose wifi on it constantly, Switched to a Cisco wifi router and it works much better.

Our exchange server crashed and we lost all contact and calendar data. We found an app to get the contacts off of people's phone to import but can't find the same for calendar. How do I get my calendar info off my phone and in to new exchange server?
You'd have to think through this, but it seems like if you are using Outlook, and the items vanished from the Outlook client as well as the server,that you could re-populate Outlook using iTunes.

You should be syncing your contacts to your computer regularly. They should be in Outlook or whatever program you chose to sync your contacts.
You should be importing all pics taken with iphone to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.
If you failed to do this, then it is all likely gone.
You can try restoring from backup. -
