When using pop up editor windows on a Joomla 1.0.15 website the URLs selected in the pop-up are not passed back to the main window

The Joomla content management system version 1.0.15 provides a content editor which uses pop-up windows to select images and files. When using any of these pop up editor windows since 3.6.9 the URLs selected in the pop-up are not passed back to the main editor window.
Up until FF 3.6.8 there were no problems, but FF 3.6.9 and 3.6.10 both exhibit this same problem, as does FF 4 Beta 6. (Support Question raised on this forum in early September when 2.6.9 was released but no response)

Our iOS devices use a capacitive touch screen and with it being winter in most places, a buildup of static electricity can cause the touch screen to act erratic. Start with closing all applications open in multitasking and power cycling the device. If using a screen protector, remove it and test without it installed. Some cases that include a screen protector can cause this issue as well. Try the remainder of the steps in the attached article below. If the issue persists, a restore as new may been needed. Make sure to backup your data prior to a restore.

Is there a way to paste an URL into the file selection dialog box?

Hi,
I would like to share on Friendfeed.com images that I find on websites. On Windows, I click on "Add - photos" and I can paste the URL of the image directly into the dialogue box.
On my Mac 10.6.6, I can't find a way to do that: the dialog box only allows me to click on a file's name, I can't paste anything. So I have to save the image on my disk, and then upload it on Friendfeed.
It's not a big deal, but still more cumbersome.
Is there a way for me to avoid saving the image on my hard drive?

Thomas, you really need to relax I just asked a simple technical question: is X technically possible?
There were only two meaningful answers to that: yes and no.
But, no, you and others started to imply there were some dark issues of image copyright infringement, which - if I was not very relaxed myself - would be offending. You don't know what images I'm talking about, so why in the world did you start by assuming that I was infringing copyright?
(read again my previous answers to you, and you'll see I was not condoning infringement. I was simply saying it was not an issue here). Are you going around the web entering any discussion about how guns work, warning that killing people is a crime? What about knifes? Car forums and speed limits? (I could go on, as you can imagine).
But, since we're talking about copyright, you may want to lower your expectations about how "easily" you could sue me. The world - and its legal systems - is quite a different thing from the USA, you know.
Finally, about Friendfeed. Read again what I wrote (leaving aside all the copyright concerns that are distracting you ) and you'll see I mentioned that of course there's a "normal" way to enter the Url. It's just two different actions, with two different results. One of these actions is apparently not possible with a Mac. Too bad. As for Friendfeed being a crappy website: I see you're a web developer. I wish you to be as successful a developer as the people who created Friendfeed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bret_Taylor). Some of its functionalities were years ahead of the competition, which is why they have been acquired by Facebook, and today - after more than a year with no development whatsoever - they still make for a very good social network. Go and have a look at it, you may learn a thing or two.
(I wrote finally, but I was wrong). One more thing: I couldn't resist, and I took a look at your webpage and resumé. I'm not going to write here what you did from "August 1997 to August 2007" (although it's public, so it shouldn't be a problem). But let me express my full appreciation for that! (I'm serious).

I want to put my iTunes library on an external hard drive but leave my favourite songs on the computer to access without the external hard drive and when using iMovie. Is there a way to do this?

I have filled my hard drive, half with music, half with photos. I want to take my music off, and put it onto an external hard drive. However, I would still like to have access to favourite songs and playlists when the external hard drive isn't plugged in. I would also like to access this music to use with iMovie. Is there a way to do this?

You will have to engage a split library which means you will have to start answering questions on this forum because you will need to learn a lot about how iTunes works in order not that have a big mess at the end of it all. It also won't be easy when the time comes to relocate it all to different drives.
You can go to advanced preferences and turn off organize media and copy to items to media folder when adding items to library. Next read about how to selectively consolidate items to the external drive.

Remember that when you start iTunes without the external drive turned on iTunes will present you with a bunch of broken links. If you have automatic downloads enabled with iCloud you may have to turn that off to prevent iTunes from repopulating your drive trying to deal with those "missing" tracks.
If you add tracks in bunches to iTunes and want them to go to different media folders you will need to either add them by holding down the option key while dragging if the desired media folder is not the one set in preferences, or by changing the media folder in preferences. Changing media folder preferences only applies to new files added, not old ones.

Since downloading Lion when checking mail it will automatically open the next email. This has gotten me in trouble a couple of times as I wanted to not open them until a later time but once opened I needed to respond. Someone mentioned shrinking the screen but not sure what that meant.

Another solution, perhaps -
With the message you did not want to read as the selected message, go to the Message menu and select "as Unread" from te 'Mark' submenu.
Also, if it is a matter of deleting a message and not wanting another message to automatically be opened next -
Select the message you want to delete. Hold down Option and press Delete - the selected message will be immediately deleted (not moved to the Trash), and no other message will be opened.

Is there a way to NOT add "_X4" to the pdf file name after batch processing conversion?

whenever i convert a pdf file to a certain profile in batch processing, the pdf file duplicates with the other one having an "_x4" in the filename. i already tried removing in fixups (preflight) but i can't. do you have any ideas? thanks!

I want to be able to make custom tones for receiving text messages and emails... Blackberries can do this and I would like to be able to have my Iphone do this also.

ITunes 8 does not automatically advance to next track in album or playlist

iTunes 8 was recently installed for me by the company on my company laptop. This was done automatically by LANDesk. (We call this being LANDesked. I was forced by LANDesk to reboot my computer twice yesterday, but I digress.)
iTunes does not automatically advance to the next track in an album or playlist, either in list view or grid view.
List View: I can play any song in an album by double-clicking it or by selecting the track and pressing the play button. When it gets to the end of that track, it does not automatically advance to playing the next track. Pressing Ctrl-Right stops the current track and does not play the next track. The Next button is active and it, too, stops the current track and does not play the next track.
Grid View: Play Album button appears to be active but does nothing.
Is there some setting I'm missing that was set to do this in iTunes 7 but not in 8?

I thought the check boxes were for selecting which tracks get synced to my iPod or iPhone. I must have unchecked them all (before the installation of iTunes 8) when I was trying to figure out how to sync a 2nd computer (this one) to my iPhone.
I can't find anything in the iTunes help about this necessary fact for playing your albums and playlists. If you look on the Index tab of the help, neither check nor uncheck are found in the list. If you search for check, you eventually find, amongst all the pages, that you need to have tracks checked in order to burn them to a CD and to import them from a CD, but I find nothing about checking to play tracks. Also, the help is very confusing on the difference between selecting one or more songs and checking the check boxes of one or more song. These seem to be used interchangeably occasionally.

Thanks. So there's no means of knowing whether a text message has been delivered, not to mention time of delivery. Perhaps I've gone for the wrong phone. It might do a lot but seems to miss out on some basics.

When shopping for music, is there a way to play the results like playlist?

This pertains to shopping for music on the Apple store. When I display all the songs by a particular artist, it becomes real OLD to click 100 songs. Is there a way to play them ALL in the same manner as a playlist? That is, when the 30-second sample ends -- to start playing the next.

You need to arrange that with the carrier since they are the ones that disabled it.
