Make sure that you do not run Firefox in compatibility mode.
You can open the Properties of the Firefox desktop shortcut via the right-click context menu and check the "Compatibility" tab.
Make sure that all items are deselected in the "Compatibility" tab of the Properties window.

Desktop is too big for the display

Some how this morning while on my Mac a display setting or something was changed. If your on the desktop, with all windows closed, the background, icons, dock.....everything is too big for the display. If you move the cursor all the way to left it will 'slide' the desktop in that direction. Move it all the way to the right edge of the display and it 'slides' the desktop to the right until you reach the edge. Also the same for the up or down directions.
At first I thought it had something to do with the multi-touch track pad, but I don't think so. I have checked all the display settings I can think of and have tried re-sizing the desktop to all other settings in an attempt to fix the problem. Additionally I have restarted/shutdown the computer totally to see if it would fix the issue. No success. Please help.

I had the same problem, but the zoom was already off. So I went under "options" and unchecked "use scroll wheel with modifier keys to zoom," and that took care of it.

Have you tried resetting Preferences?
A logical next step would be to reset your Preferences.
To reset Preferences:
If Photoshop is already open on your screen, close it (Quit). Then hold down Shift+Ctrl+Alt (Win) / Shift+Command+Option (Mac) on your keyboard and start Photoshop.
A dialog box will pop up asking if you want to delete the existing Preferences file (the "Settings"). Click Yes in the dialog box. The existing Preferences file will be scrapped and a new one will be created.

Recently, when I delete files, I am getting a message stating, ""[Filename]" is too big for the trash. Would you like to delete it permanently?". This recently started showing up for no reason and in the past I have deleted files significantly bigger and not recieved this message. nbar, it seems that this trash issue is a reoccuring issue and that it is resetting itself. I followed the article that provided a link to, but after following the steps and finding success, it started doing it again.

I have the exact same problem, I think. I was on my iPad 3's home page swiping R-L to locate a certain icon when all of a sudden the screen appeared to get HUGE. So big I could only see one or two icons. I couldn't even turn it off to try a reboot because after I pushed the sleep/wake button, I couldn't find the red slide bar. I finally just had to wait for the battery to die, then recharge it, and it looked normal again. I also spoke with several friends who haven either iPads or iPhones, and they've all had this happen to them. I checked my accessibility settings, and Zoom was already off. This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, or by a peripheral device.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

My iPad standard window is bit too big for the screen.

My iPad screen unexpectedly got slightly too big for the display window. The size is bit too big. For example, the keyboard when it pops up does not fully display all tkey sans. Another example is the time/power remaining bar slips out of sight. Did I accidentally change something? Is this an issue with version of iOS that I am using (4.3.3)? (Note I'm not talking about resizing by using your fingers.)

I am having the same problem. The enlargement is not the same as the 3 finger tap or the 2 finger zoom. The screen opens and then bumps to a slightly larger screen just enough to make it too big to see the outer edges. You can put 3 fingers on the screen and move the screen to see the edges but you cannot get it to shrink to the correct size. This is the second time this has happened to me. I am also having some other issues. Sometimes while in an app the app will close and I will be diverted to the home screen. And sometimes when playing "with Friends games" the letters on the letterboard (not the key pad) disappear, will not move or are giant. I plan on taking it back to the Apple store this week but I hate the idea of having to start over.

Hi Hannah,
Inspector > Text > Tabs Button > Tab Settings > Default Tabs.
To set a tab stop on the go, click in the ruler.
If you can't see the ruler, Menu > View > Show Rulers.
To set tab stops for lines (paragraphs) you have already typed, select those paragraphs and set them all at once.
Also, have a look at Menu > Pages > Preferences > Rulers.

HT1338 Since having my Macbook Pro attached to a large display screen, everything is too large for the screen. Is there a cure please?

Today I had my Mac linked to a projector screen, and since disconnection evrything from the desk top onwards has been too large for the screen. Before that evrything was perfect. I have tried zoom buttons etc, but nothing seems to work. Any help gratefully rceived.

So it's not the Zoom feature? Open System Preferences Universal Access pane Seeing tab. Make sure Zoom is turned OFF.
If it's not that, then you may have the resolution set so that it is not optimal for the built-in display. Open System Preferences Displays pane Display tab. The optimal resolution is usually the one at the top of the list of choices.

Display unaccountably gets too big for the screen

This has happened maybe a dozen times, and I don't know what I did to make it happen. Suddenly, the desktop display gets too large for the screen, and I have to scroll around to find the dock or the menu bar. Whatever else I'm working on, e-mail, etc., gets outsized, too. Does anyone know how to correct this? So far, restarting has worked, but that's a pretty time-consuming way to do it.

Hold down the CNTL key and scroll down with the mouse or trackpad. That should change it back to size. This is called screen zoom.

I'm having a new problem with Muse. This is my first Muse site, all my previous web work was HTML CSS, but I'm trying to learn the programs. However, I have a weird problem with my page... When the browser is too small - aka the window showing the site is cropping some of the content, the scroll bar appears, but wont scroll down it... I don't understand why. It seems to be happening in all browsers. Likewise, on some computers my footer is missing or invisible, not sure why, but on my computer in all browsers (firefox, chrome, safari) I don't have the problem. Any advice?

Also, in site properties I have the minimum height set to what would show the whole page, not sure what is going on. I've also noticed, that the scrollbar appears when the page is cropped, it just won't scroll the page..

Looks like you have your content pinned on the homepage .... or on a layer that is pinned. Probably the header layer.

In MS Word, it is possible to prevent tables from breaking at page breaks. So, if a table, when populated with data gets too big for the spae allotted on one page, the table will move in its entirety, to the next page. Can this be done in "Pages"?

I am trying to figure out ow to prevent tables from breaking along a row when there is a page break in "Pages". This is done in MS Word by going under Table properties under "Rows". I have a document with small three row tables and I want to keep the tables together and move to the next page in its entirety when there is a page break. Help!

I inserted a Inline Text box into the document, copied the table inside the text box, then pasted it through the document (which lists quilting projects). When the table spans a page break, even when in an inline text box, the picture which is in the right hand column splits, as well as the information pertaining to the particular quilt.

Why is it that the wallpapers are too big for the screen? I liked how in iOS 6 that you could make it whatever size you wanted. Please Please Please bring that back and you will have one happy customer!!!

Is there is a reason why pictures in iOS 7 don't work well with setting your backgrounds??
This needs to be changed back to iOS 6 style for setting backgrounds, otherwise everything else is good.

"Why" - because Apple designed it that way, probably to allow for the motion-parallax effect in the iOS 7 home screen. It has been this way since iOS 7 was released 6 months ago. Why are you first noticing it now?

I hit something and the size of the screen shrunk, so everything is too small for the page. How can I make it back to regular size?

I don't know how, but the size of Facebook is much smaller than it should be. Like around the edges of the page, there is about an inch of just white, and all of the writing is really small. Is there a way to make it back to regular size? I can't really read anything because it is too small.

Display too big for the monitor

Suddenly it seems as though I have a dispaly for the visually impared. As if the monitor that would be needed to see the whole dipaly at once would be 32' instead of the 17" available. As a result, I can only see a small portion of the window at any one time. Is this a bug? or did something get turned on that I can turn back off? Please help!!
Ps. This started just after my son watched a dvd on my computer.
