i was just wondering when ios 6 comes out cos i have been waiting and i realy want siri on my "the new ipad"

Installing any new operating system can run into problems, like hanging up during the install.  I have not seen any issues with previous iOS installs...backup goes smoothly, installation, and restoring of personal material have been good for me.  There can be slowdowns if users have a great deal of personal data, such as music, and a large number of apps.  Large content can slow the process down.
Before you start the download, double click the home button, then dismiss all apps shown on the dock across the bottom.  Then do a soft reset by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider, and the unit restarts.  I have found those two to help the process by cleaning up anything running in the background and resetting the iOS before doing a download and install.  Really just following some good housekeeping practices to help the installation.

    At 2:36 pm CDT it is showing up on the Apple page as "Upgrade Now" yet when you click on that... it opens up your App Store and gives the message that the program is not available in the US store.     I want to use Firefox, but am force into using Chrome. Why ? Start up time ! Firefox is a dog. Always has been, but it wasn't that noticeable until Chrome came along. And no browser out there even comes close to Google's Chrome start up time, NONE..
    In Firefox 4 I can actually get more screen estate on my netbook than in Chrome, putting everything I use on the title bar,,,that is to cool. That's the big reason why I want to use Firefox. Not to mention I don't trust Google spying on me. But the start-up time is killing me, I can do the laundry and make breakfast before it's ready to start surfing.
    And before anyone out there comes with this tweak and that add on for quicker start-ups, NONE of them work ! And why should we have to tweak a browser so radically out of the box to get simple performance. We shouldn't have to.

    There is typically a new version just before release of new hardware, but there may also be other updates throughout the year.  Apple always announces the new updates when they are available.

    The ones sold that day will come with Snow Leopard most likely but they will be able to get a free upgrade to LIon if they apply within 30 days. Hardware coming through the supply chain from the day of the announcement will have Lion installed so it depends what stock people have to move before buyers see those.

    Some apps have older versions available.
    Try this if you want an App that says you need iOS 7 or later:
    Go to iTunes on a computer or on a device running iOS 7 and find the app you want and download it using your Apple ID and password.
    Now go back to your iPod Touch Gen 4 and go to the App Store and tap updates at the bottom right, then tap Purchased at the top.  Find the app on the list that you just downloaded on the computer (or other device) and tap the cloud to download it.  If it has an alternate version available that is compatible with your iOS, it will prompt you and allow you to download that.
