Where do I assign what permissions a role admin person has on the portal server?

Hi,
The Portal server admin or Domain administrator of that role can assign permission to a role admin as follows.
Goto: Adminconsole > Managedomains > Domain name > Role > role admin > policy
In the "Policy Module" you can specify whatever permissions you wants to assign to the role admin.

Where do the portal server saves on his side all the plugins/packages that are available in my NWDS and does it have other packages that I don't have and need?

10X Harish but I am looking for the folder themselfs as they appear at the NWDS plugins directory...
I found many of them at the ...\j2ee\cluster\server0\apps\sap.com\irj\servlet_jsp\irj\root\WEB-INF\portal\portalapps. Is this the right place?
And another question: Often I can't find any available imports on the NWDS plugins but I find it on the server, for example:
com.sapportals.portal.pcd.gl.IPcdAttribute is not available at any of the NWDS plugins but it is available on the server at: com.sap.portal.pcd.glservice\lib\gl_api.jar. Why is that?

If you are trying to "Share" photos via email, quit iPhoto then launch the Mail app.
From the Mail menu bar click Mail > Preferences then select the General tab.
Select your Mail client from the pop up menu next to: Default email reader
Now select the Accounts tab then the Account Information tab.
Select the account on the left that you want to use with iPhoto.
Type in your User name and password
Relaunch iPhoto. Click Share from the menu bar > Email

Where can I find a list of NI-DAQ functions supported over the RDA server?

I am developing an application in Microsoft VisualC++ for PXI6071E MIO card remotely using RDA server.
What I found out is that not all the functions described in the "Traditional NI-DAQ Function Reference Help" shipped with NI-DAQ version 7.0 are supported over the RDA server (e.g. Init_DA_Boards, or AO_Configure).
Is there any document available where the functions supported by the RDA server are listed? It will help me a lot instead of manually executing all the needed functions and building this list by myself.

Thank you very much for the link.
Based on this article I included the easyio.h and easyio.lib from LabWindows/CVI into my VC++ project and I managed to perform the needed operations using Easy IO function calls.
As a result of my own tests, the Analog Input functions provided by nidaq are not supported by the RDA server, but the General Purpose Timer/Counter functions are well supported.
Hopefully the future versions of NI-DAQ will be fully supported by the RDA server.

How can I migrate file shares & permissions from one volume to another on the same server?

I am replacing a storage array and as part of that process, I need to move files/folders and Shares/permissions from one Volume to another volume within the same server.
The server is Windows 2003 file server. The file transfers are not a problem, moving all 40 shares with permissions etc. is my main concern because in order to maintain everything I need to change the drive letter of the new volume to match the old
one so that links to various resources throughout the network do not break.

If you want to copy files/folders from one Volume to another volume within the same server, you could use the File Server Migration Tool (FSMT) or Robocopy to accomplish your goals. The tool can move all of the files from the shares on your original volume
to the new volume.

How to assign Users to process roles?

I have designed a process and I have consolidated all the roles,
when I intiate the process from the runtime workset it asks to assign users to these roles(I have consolidated all the roles to three mail roles). The problem that I am facing is that the user should not see this screen, depending upon the user login id the approvers should be automatically assigned to the respective roles.

assuming that I've got you wright you could try to model the following using the callable object "business logic" and the callable object "assign user to process role".
With the help of the first CO you can implement the logic to assign the respective approvers to the users (initiator) and let the processflow go on directing it to the appropriate step where the above mentioned second CO assigns the user to the process role (using the result states of the bussiness logic CO)
At least you are supposed to need an appropriate Parameter that you can consolidate with the User ID.
Just a quick idea, hope this will work with you.

Infinity Order Shambles - Where to complain? What ...

Hi,
I've never had internet from BT, and the way it's looking I won't for a while either given the utterly shambolic performance over the last fortnight with my order.
Here's what happened:
1. Checked on the availability of fibre to my area through the BT checker site. It's available up to the 80/20 fibre. Great.
2. Ordered Infinity 2 with an installation date of this morning.
3. Realised the order system had substituted my old (2 1/2 years ago) address, 150 miles from my house as the address where the HomeHub would be delivered to.
4. Rang customer services on the day I left for my holiday and got it changed to my grandfather's address as there would be nobody to sign for it. I was told I'd get a phone call to confirm the delivery address had been changed that same day. No call came.
5. Next day I rang customer services as the order website still said the hub was going to my old address. They changed it again and said I'd see the order page updated later that day to reflect the correct address for delivery. Nothing changed.

7. Next day I contacted BT via Twitter and then via a web chat. They changed it to my actual home address as they said it didn't need to be signed for and could fit through a letterbox. They also confirmed that the appointment was all on track despite these problems.
8. On the delivery day I tracked the item with Royal Mail and it was indeed being delivered to my old address 150 miles away. I called my grandfather who said he's had one delivered in my name to him that morning!
9. Come today, the day for the installation and no engineer arrives between 8am and 1pm. No phone calls or anything so I sit there like an idiot all morning. I call customer services at 1pm who tell me that fibre is not actually available at all in my location and some "cage/cable?" - not sure of the word exactly, work had to be done and I would get a phone call on the 1st of July. After this call I will then be able to rearrange yet more delays in waiting for an engineer visit.
So if the fibre isn't available, why take my order? Is it really not available or am I being fobbed off? It definitely sounds like it to me. Other broadband providers I contacted before ordering with BT said the fibre was ready to connect up and were happy for me to go with them immediately. But I chose BT. Your product looked to be the most competitive and the also the best.
I would very much like to hear your response to the experience I have had, especially about whether the fibre is or isn't available and what will be done.
This has been the worst customer experience I have ever had, and I am a pretty patient person. You have the honour of being on the receiving end of the first real complaint I have ever made.

I will change this because one employee has ANSAL 34000 biweekly, his benefit salary is getting calculated as 34000.20 Reason : it per period salary is coming as 1307.70 istead of 1370.6924... with this change, the benefit salary will come as 34000/-.

Error when uploading BW roles into the Portal

I am trying to upload one standard BW role with 3 BW web applications into the Portal using Portal's RoleUpload functionality. Teh BW role gets uploaded fine in the Portal, but the Portal fails to create the iViews for the Web Applications. The error I am getting is below:

In the download section, I have found only the portal server 6.1 for SPARK but nothing about v7 for Windows =(

Hi All,
Can you please suggest me what permission require to create new case from service module. Steps is below i followed to create case and assigned to user.
1- Created new blank role.
2- Went in service module.
3- Given the Create, Read, Write, Append & Append To permission to CASE entity on organization Level.
4- Assigned this role to user.
After assigning this role login into crm online and trying to create case. Its giving message "Insufficient Permission".
Kindly suggest me the steps i am missing here. Want to assigned single custom created role.

Federation, remote role assignment based on ABAP roles on producer

Hi all,
We have implemented the federated portal solution for our ESS users. We use the ABAP stack of the producer portal as user store for consumer and have no problems in assigning portal roles on our consumer based on ABAP roles in the backend (displayed as groups in the portal).
Now we want to add some extra functionality (eg SRM and eRec) and we encounter some problems. These systems all have their own ABAP stack as user store. We have maintained the functional authorization model in the ABAP roles for instance in SRM. So an example:
System I: ABAP + JAVA --> ECC 6.0
Here we have the standard R/3 functionality and the producer portal (A) installed. Roles created on producer portal and assigned based on ABAP roles.
System II: JAVA --> NW 7.0 Portal
Our consumer portal (B) where we use roles created on the producer portal (A) on System I.
System III: ABAP + JAVA --> SRM
Our SRM system with SRM producer portal (C). In the ABAP stack of this sytem the functional SRM roles have been assigned to the users. We have created functional SRM Portal roles in order to use remote role assignment on consumer portal (B).
+PROBLEM+
We want to remotely assign portal roles created on the SRM Producer (C) to users on the consumer portal (B), based on the ABAP role assignment in the backend of system III. How can we achieve this in a fast and efficient way?

Interesting question. Let me share my experience and hope that's of some use to you.
We started off federating corporate NetWeaver Portal (lets say B, parallel to your convention) as consumers to BI Portals (Lets say A).
- B's UME points to Active Directory
- A's UME points to BI ABAP user store
- User ids are identical in both systems
We ran into the problem of dual administration ((de)assigning portal role on both portals instead of just one) for a long time. The issue was because of different reasons at different times as we patched B's and A's. At one point we were on SP15 on both portals and we were told by SAP that RRA can be done on B for remote roles and the assignment propagates to A automatically if the following configuration is set up on both A and B.
- A's permissions are relaxed allowing "Everyone" group checked for "End User" access as per ([http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/2236fc0b413fe1e10000000a11466f/content.htm|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/43/2236fc0b413fe1e10000000a11466f/content.htm]
However, we chose not to do the permission relaxation as enabling "Everyone" group with "End User" access can allow anyone to launch an iView (if the URL is known somehow) and the user would be able to see the layout of the iView, which can include text, etc. The user won't be able to access any data though, however, there is certain compromise on security which we decided that its not okay. So, we digressed in SAP's suggested practice because of security reasons.
Today we, manage security on B using Active Directory groups and on A using Java groups (ABAP roles).
In your case, I suggest investigating the option of relaxing the security on producer portal like in the above link. If you think its okay, all you have to do is, provision users on B by assigning remote roles from C and A.
Either my story is applicable or I must have got you totally wrong,
