If you had already set up the FindMyiPod feature and wifi is on you may be able to find it general location by going to icloud.com and signing and clicking on the FindMyiPhone icon. However, that can be defeated by turning ghe iPod off or restorig the iPOod.
Apple will not help
Change the passwords for accounts used on the iPod and report to local police.

I have a problem with my iTunes, could someone kindly help me please? My iPod is old. It's the 20GB black and white one from a long time ago. Recently, I bought a new laptop with Windows Vista on it, and I got iTunes version 7. It detects my iPod, and I can put songs on it, but I just don't know where the playlist is! The library playlist is there, but where is the iPod one when I plug it in? It used to show up when I had my old laptop with an old version of iTunes. When I click my ipod, it only has four options: Summary, Music, Podcasts, Contacts. No playlist. Please help!

You can only automatically sync playlists using Windows Media Player 0 as far as I know. There's lots of other software out there that can use the Media Transfer Protocol of the Vision:M, but I'm not sure what they can do.
Creative's software is desperately lacking in the playlist sync area, so you're not being a BDU

I am trying to download music from my itunes on computer to my iphone 4 and just realized there is no IPOD. I have MUSIC and ITUNES which the ITUNES accepted all of my purchased music. Where is my IPOD???

ok....so I read the instructions for how to download text files into your ipod like fifty times....and i do everything it says there over and over again...but there is no " ipod disk icon" coming up anywhere. They said it would just appear on your desktop, and that is how you would be able to drag files onto your ipod. I don't know where to drag my files to....where is that ipod disk icon? I tried just dragging them into Itunes and all that, but it doesn't work, obviously. What do I do??? thanks

The iPod will appear in My Computer as a drive on windows. What you are referring to is what occurs on Mac OS X.

Hey, thank you very much for the clarification.
I just performed a quick test. If the iPod doesn't have any programs running it will indeed go to sleep after the "stop playing" timer ends. But if I'm playing music the "stop playing" timer will only stop playing the music when the timer ends, but will not actually put the iPod to sleep. Same goes for watching videos, the timer only stops playing the video but does not put the iPod to sleep.
The "sleep iPod" option, on the other hand, actually put the iPod to sleep when the timer ended.
The "stop playing" option only stops an app from playing media but does not put the iPod to sleep.
Why did Apple change the option from "sleep iPod" to "stop playing"?
How do I put my iPod to sleep now?

where is the ipod updater, i need to resotre my ipod, is the updater in the ipod setup, because everytime i click on ipod setup it just downloads the new version of ipod setup (which i already had) and restarts the comp..

You do not need any app.
- If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
- You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
- Apple will do nothing

I just got my dads old ipod classic. I looked in the maunel and saw that there were games for it on itunes. I go there and there isnt any. This is false advertising. Where are they in itunes and/or what website could i get some?

I am getting ready to buy a 5.5 gen. 30gb iPod and I was wondering where's the better place to buy one at...at an Apple Store or a place like Best Buy in regards to who is better at fixing/replace broken iPod? Or are they the same???

You can always take it to an Apple store no matter where you buy it.
Best Buy simply tries to Restore them and if that doesn't fix them, they send them to Apple.

Same problem as all the others - HELP!! Where is my Ipod?

Like everyone else, Itunes no longer detects my Ipod. I've spent night after night trying everything in the "troubleshoot" list and even met with the "genius" in the apple store.....all to no avail.
Basically, iTunes wont recognize by Ipod or crashes when it's plugged it. My Ipod is about 1 1/2 yrs old and works fine on other computers (except my home computer where all my music is)
I've tried everything including
1) The 5 R's
2) Reinstall COM interface for Ipod Service
3) Quick fix
4) Removing and installing Itunes
5) IPodService.exe Alert
6) Empty Temp directory
7) Windows Installer files
AND MORE......
After doing all these steps, I came the closest last night. Itunes recognized my Ipod but then crashed when it got to update song 651. Since I did a RESTORE earlier I still have no music on my Ipod. Now it continues to not recognize and typically freezes up Itunes when plugged in. It still is recognized as a hard drive through Explorer and is detected by the Updater.
Since it works on my work computer and at the Apple store there is some other conflict with my home computer.
HELP!!!!

Have you tried creating a new user account (yes, I know it means going back to square one as far as personal customisations and settings is concerned) and rebuilding the iTunes library on the new user account You should not need to recreate the song files themselves - well at least not the ones which are .mp3s provided they are still on the HDD - just point iTunes at them and it will incorporate them. You could at least try it as an experiment - you should be able to revert back if it is no help.

I do not know what yo mean by disabled and what model iPod y ohave:

- If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
- Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
- There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.
- Apple will do nothing without a court order
