Where is my text box in final cut pro? I cannot change the default text at all?

Hi, as the title says, I use a default final cut pro title or ending for a video and I cannot change the text, all youtube tutorials just show that you click on the text box, the boxes appear, and then to the right in the text window you literally just type and change it, which ive done several times before, but I just got a new mac, and now that is impossible to do, what can I do? I dont want to upload videos that say, TEXT GOES HERE

i think what you're gonna have to do is just hit command 4!
That should bring up the inspector where you can change the font!

If the clips are not actually missing, you could try to refresh the timeline by using cmd-0 and then going to the timeline options tab. Then select name only where it says "thumbnail display". Press ok to accept the change, then repeat the process to add thumbnails back to your timeline.

Just copy the Application FCPX to your CD. When you want to install drag the FCPX to the Application folder and you are done.

You don't import the project.
I'm going to assume that both the trial version and purchased version were 10.1.
Open FCPX and then Open Library>Other, Navigate to wherever you stored the library (ies) you worked on when you used the trial. Choose that library and your work should be in one or more events in it.

Did you by any chance move the Events and/or Projects folders? Are they on an exteranl hard drive and it is now not plugged in?

Final Cut pro doesn't play the frames

My final cut pro doesn't play the frames in the application.
The whole time it works great but at ones this happend.

Couple of things to check and try.
1) In Viewer Display options check to see whether Better Performance is checked in the Quality section. If not, check it and that should help you set real time playback with a slight reduction in quality in the Viewer. However, it will not have any affect on your project.
2) If that doesn't work, consider generating Proxy files by eight clicking clips >Transcode Media. There is also a setting in Viewer Display Options to use Proxy in editing your project. Before you export the finished project, remember to change that setting back to Original/Optimized.
3) If that doesn't work, download a speed test and check the throughput of your media drive. It should be a separate drive from your start up disk and should be connected by Thunderbolt (fastest) USN3 (next fastest) or Firewire 800.

Hi,
please don't double post and instead continue with your original threat. In the previous post you got the correct answer to use skinning. You did not like the solution as it doesn't allow per-instance titles. I agree with this and a logical consequence is to file an enhancement request instead of re-posting the question. I'll file the ER, so no need to follow up for you anymore

You may substitute any text you like for the "Placeholder Text", as it is called, in Pages. Click on the existing placeholder text and type something more to your liking. Do this in as many places as your particular template of interest demands. Then, Format > Advanced > Define as Placeholder Text. Lastly, File > Save as Template.
Now that you have defined a Custom Template to your liking, you can go to Pages Preferences and under the General tab's first section, define the new custom template as your default for each new document.

There really aren't default outgoing font settings. They are only there for viewing. A workaround I have seen mentioned is to start you signature with the font style you want to use. When you start your message, click in that first part of your signature.
