Where is safari? it does not show up in my tool bar?
where is safari? when I downloaded Mavericks it disappeared from my tool bar.
Hi steve0393,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
I think you are asking about Safari not showing up on the Dock in Mavericks?
If that is the case, you can drag Safari from the Applications folder to the Dock.

Hello there!
Compared to other versions, in CS6 the patch tool is in a different location:
If this doesn't help you, what version of Photoshop are you using?
Please post back with any other questions,

Options-->Menu Bar is Unchecked(off) (so, TABS are at the top of the screen):
Press Alt to popup Menu Bar, Click on a Custom Icon and the item clicked on does not come up -and- the Menu Bar closes.
So, Alt->Popup Menu Bar->Click a Custom Icon does not function properly.
see Troubleshooting Info below-->First off if you have Firefox4 you probably also have an earlier version such as firefox 3.6.15 installed. By default firefox installs these in slightly different locations, but it leaves it up to you to create a separate profile for each version. The profile is where firefox stores data and settings. I am not sure that firefox explains this clearly, but you will run into problems if you do not have a separate profile for each version of firefox. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Testing_pre-release_versions
To try to get the toolbars working correctly, after you have ensured you have separate profiles in use for each version ( the following action will make changes)
# use the restore default set from the customise / customize toolbars dialogue
# if that does not work then
#* use [safe mode] and the option [X] reset toolbars and controls -
I used an index template .dwt and inserted a logo header image.
Using Browser lab it renders in Safari but not in Firefox 3.0 for both OS/Windows, IE 7&8, and Chrome.
Using FILE-->VIEW IN BROWSER, which is Safari it is fine.
A friend used FIrefox and IE7 and the image did not show or same results as Browser Lab.
Orginial code: <div class="header"><img src="../pictures/logo_header.jpg : Safari good, other browsers did not show image
2nd try: Code: src="/~sanchezg/pictures/logo_header.jpg", This time Safari did not show header image either.
Location: www.unm.edu/~sanchezg
From PROPERTIES--> SRC --> BROWSE FOR FILE
URL: ../pictures/logo_header_jpg
Relative to: Document : index.dwt
Selecting 'Change default Link Relative To in the site definition:
Default Images folder: /User/xxxxx/Sites/GabeSanchezFIles/Pictures
Links relative to: Document is selected
Web URL: http//www.unm.edu/~sanchezg
What are your thoughts?
Thank youI'm troubled by these answers because they seem to further muddy the water. Here's the important concept -
All links in the TEMPLATE file should be one of three kinds -
1. Relative to the template file, e.g.,
<a href="../ (meaning that you must go up one level from the template folder
to reach the root of the site, hence all other files, since none of them
should be in the templates folder)
2. Relative to the site root, e.g.,
<a href="/ (meaning that one would begin looking for the linked file at the
root of the site and follow the pathing from that point)
3. Absolute, e.g.,
<a href="http:// (meaning that the link is to a page external to the site).
Seems that none of the suggestions are putting you on that path first. -
The time machine Icon does not does not show up in my menu bar
The time machine icon does not appear in my menu bar. The desk top icon for the external hard drive is green. I've checked preferances and the time machine is turned on and the box is checked that has the icon appear in my menu. I've turned off the time machine and rebooted and then turned it on and rebooted again. Nothing seems to work. I'm running Mavericks and I have an Intel I5 processor.
the box is checked that has the icon appear in my menu
Uncheck it and check it again. Any change? If not, see below.

This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your personal files or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2. -
Inspecting element on Safari 7 does not show Web Inspector
When I run "Inspect Element" on Safari 7, nothing happens. I don't see the Web Inspector and the page appears to lag a little bit. I am running Mavericks 10.9.2 and Safari 7.0.3.

It happens mostly at random, but once it shows up on an image, even if i close and re open it it will still show up. if i zoom out far enough it will disappear, but as soon as i zoom back in again it will reappear. its never in the same spot on different images and never the same size. i was already on with tech support and they deleted my settings folder which seemed to fix it for a short time (like a week), does anyone know what is causing this or how to fix it?
*this is not my art, just an example of it happeningit may have worked, but gimping my system isn't exactly a solution, more of a band-aid.
its the equivalent of the old
patient says, " its hurts when i do *this* "
doctor replies," well, don't do that "
What do you mean "it may have worked" – did it or did it not?
Anyway it is not a remedy but diagnostics and if it makes a difference it points at the GPU driver as a likely culprit. -
10.5.2 Finder does not show root volume in side bar / desktop
Hi,
I was chating on IRC with someone who could not find his hard drive on the desktop and in the side bar after using a software. After checking the settings of the Finder, repairing the file permissions, I made a few attempts to make him reset the Finder state, without success.
I made a few experiments on my side. I removed .DS_Store files and restarted the Finder. To my surprise, my drive is now missing from the side bar. I go to /usr with the Finder, the drive shows as if it was set "invisible". But I checked with GetFileInfo, and the /Volumes/Macintosh HD symlink has not the V attribute set while / has it. But as far as I can remember, it has always been the case.
Anyone in the same case ?Folks,
Francine Schwieder already solved the issue of the missing hard disk in side bar/desktop:

I just upgrade to Firefox 4, but why I cannot find the web mail notifier envelope in the task bar?
Hello there, DianelCarter.
From the sound of it, you're not seeing the banner at the top of the body of your email that has incorrectly been marked as junk. The following Knowledge Base article offers up some steps to try if you're not seeing those features:
Mail (Mavericks): If junk mail filters aren’t working correctly
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14937
Ultimately, if the basic steps don't help resolve your issue, you may want to reset the Junk Mail preferences to give the database a fresh start:
If the problem persists, click Reset in Junk Mail preferences to reset the junk mail database to its original information. Resetting the database removes everything Mail has learned from you about what is junk or not junk, so you need to help Mail identify junk mail again.
Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities.
Cheers,

I've updated CS5.5 to CS6 repeatedly, and I've then installed the CS6 update for Dreamweaver... I don't have the HTML5 option in the Insert Bar...
What now??? Thanks, TerryYou don't get option for HTML5. It is already there as part of HTML. The only thing you need to do is to set the default document type to HTML 5 as shown in this picture:
Once you have got the default document type, all your new pages will be HTML 5 compliant and the HTML codes you use will be HTML5 compliant and your pages will look identical on all HTML5 compliant browsers. All current browsers are HTML5 compliant to some degree. Even IE 10 and 11 is HTML5 compliant
Hope this helps. -
