Where is the developer version of SQL 2012

Hi,
This seems to have been asked a lot but I can't find a definitive answer.
I purchased a copy of SQL2008R2 (Developer) from Amazon a few years ago and I would like to upgrade it to 2012.  Looking on
MS sites it appears that there is only; Express, Standard and Enterprise versions available now.
However on my work PC I have a 2012 developer edition which was downloaded via an MSDN subscription.
So, where does a private individual buy/upgrade their copy?

Hello,
To upgrade SQL Server developer to 2012 developer you need to do inplace upgrade.
1. You need to buy valid copy of SQL Server 2012 developer edition ,link given by Uri will be helpful
2.You need to patch your SQL server 2008 r2 to SP1/Sp2 to upgrade.RTM upgrade is not suported.
3 Run upgarde advisor to see if any issues will occur during upgrade
3. You need to run SQL Server 2012 developer setup.exe file as administrator and when installation window appears you need to select maintenance on that page you need to select Edition upgrade.
Below link will help you.Its upgrade about trial edition but same applies to developer as well.

I am using SQL Developer version 1.5.0.53, and I was wondering if there is a way that I can view the database version within SQL Developer?
I know when you log on in SQL *Plus it shows it, is there anywhere in SQL Developer that it can be viewed?

    There is a report.

  • SP1 to R2 Upgrade - The installed Version of SQL Server is not supported for the operational database

    Hello,
Am trying to upgrade a SCOM SP1 environment to SCOM R2( 3 MGT servers, 1 GW and 2 Web console boxes )
    The prerequisites are failing and it is stating the following ;
Operational Database SQL Version Check - The installed Version of SQL Server is not supported for the operational database
Data Warehouse  SQL Version Check - The installed Version of SQL Server is not supported for the data warehouse
The SQL servers are running SQL 2012 SP1 64 Enterprise, which is compatible.
All other pre-upgrade tasks have been done.
    Help appreciated!

I'm having the exact same issue, I believe. I think that Tubble has problem with SCOM 2012. Not 2007.
I've checked the compatibility list for both SCOM 2012 SP1 and R2. All newer Windows Server and SQL versions are supported. We're running the SQL 2012 SP1 x64 Standard edition on a Windows Server 2012 Standard.
I even tried to move the database from SQL 2012 to an older SQL 2008 R2, but that's not supported either. Only upgrading. Not downgrading.
So, I started checking the opsMgrSetupWizard.log file for clues. And the error message was there as well. But the reason why it says not supported is that it can't get the info about the OS version, so I guess it assumes the OS version is to low. The RPC
    service can not be reached.

So, in our case this was just a FW that was blocking some high ports between management server and SQL. I believe TCP port 135 also needs to be open.
Let's hope this fixes your issue as well, Tubble.
    Have a great day!

  • What is the latest version of SQL Server which ColdFusion 7 supports?

What is the latest version of SQL Server which ColdFusion 7 supports? For example can Cold Fusion 7 connect to SQL Server 2012 or 2008 without any problem? Thanks

First things first, I would advise you to apply the upgrades, if you haven't yet done so. I remember Coldfusion MX7 to be quite buggy. We could not wait to apply the upgrades and hotfixes. Version MX7.0.2 turned out to be the lasting upgrade. We used MySQL, however, not SQL Server.
You can get the information you want from Adobe Support. But you can think it through yourself. The way I think about it is as follows.
Coldfusion is an application that includes database functionality. I may therefore assume that Coldusion would be backwardly compatible in its support of database server versions. In other words, a new version of Coldfusion, say 9 or 10, would work with an older database server like SQL Server 2005.
However, I would not expect a previous version of Coldfusion, say MX7, to be compatible with newer database server versions like SQL Server 2008 and SQL Server 2012. Even if someone told me they were compatible, I would still expect such a set-up to be an accident waiting to happen.

    Hi, Andre.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem as though Apple's reference to Portuguese support is entirely accurate. Or, depending on your point of view, not accurate at all. : - (
In addition to there not being an option to select Portuguese in the iTunes Preferences, this article in the Apple Knowledge Base says that the language used in Portugal's iTunes Store is "British English".
I'm guessing the reference you found means to say that there is an iTS for Portugal, not a Portuguese language iTS ... or a Portugese language iTunes for that matter. But it doesn't say it very well.
You might want to let Apple know your opinion on the matter by submitting the form at the bottom of this Support page .

    Hello,
domain rename is NOT supported when using Exchange 2007 or higher. And NetBIOS rename is NOT supported on ANY Exchange version.

"It is imperative that you not attempt a domain rename operation until you read and understand the contents of this technical reference. The domain rename operation is not supported in Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 or Exchange Server 2010.
DNS domain rename is supported in Exchange Server 2003. However, renaming of the NetBIOS domain name is not supported in any version of Exchange Server."
There are maybe also other applications/services that do not support this.

From the above posting, i am not sure exactly what problems you are running into when getting edge inforamtion, but the evaluation version should run the same as the development system, except for the limitation on executiopn time and the additional pop up reminders. *Note: This is a repost for the Portable Media Forums about the Zen Vision:M, but I feel it pertains to this board and applies to other devices as well. Seeing how some of you don't visit the other board, here it is...
With the multitudes of "problematic" posts and posts which identify befuddling limitations, where is the developer input? We are rightfully curious as to which direction the next firmware update is heading yet our complaints/inquiries/frustrations have resulted in the dev-team to respond with... complete silence.
We are NOT asking for up-to-the-minute updates round-the-clock, just some mention of what bugfixes and features they are shooting for. Really, just a response affirming which issues they are aware of and offering NO timeline for fixing, would suffice.
Besides the current problems common to all players, I have not had one LICK of trouble with mine. I absolutely adore it, and for thousands of people who have already bought one I would venture to guess they do as well. We are here to address issues about this player because we believe. We believe in the ZV:M. We believe in the direction Creative has taken for its next-gen media devices (this is my first Creative product). Yet, we also believe in customer service and relations. Where has this gone?
We do not demand answers that shouldn't already have been dutifully responded too. We only plead for information on a product we purchased in good will and faith, from a company whose crusade against the iPod we support.
I do strictly charge Creative with the task of interacting with its customers and revolutionizing the way in which MP3 players will be concei'ved from this day forth. Work with us and we will surpass the 'iSpawn' generation.Message Edited by Ma_USMC on 03-3-20062:6 PM

  • URGENT : Where is the Developer Server ?

I downloaded the trial version of developer/developer server from
this site. i installed all the components of the file, and i
seem to have the entire developer part. However, i can't seem to
find the developer server part. does anybody know how i can
start the developer server in standalone mode ? where are the
executables associated with the server? is there any
documentation about the server config ? is the server even
included in the trial download ?
    Appreciate any help...
    null

    Chet,
Once installed, there is nothing immediately obvious which tells
you that Developer Server is on the machine - i.e. there is
nothing in the START menu. I haven't seen anything in Oracle
Installer's 'List of installed products' which I can easily
identify as the 'Developer Server'. However it is now "happily"
installed on my machine, and probably on yours too.
To be on the safe side, you could rerun the installation and
take the 'deployment installation' option when prompted for
    'Development Installation','Deployment Installation' or 'Custom'.
On the next screen, choose 'Server Install'
This should then ensure you have the server installed on your
    machine.
(The Developer Server copy I'm using is the one issued on the
"Internet Development Tools Technology Track", which is
effectively a trial, if that helps answer part of the question)
You can check if you have at least got the Forms Server
installed by typing the following at the Dos prompt:
    ifsrv60 -install MYSERVER
    You should be prompted with
'FRM-60001:Do you want to install 'Developer Forms Server
    [MYSERVER]' as an NT service?'
If you were to respond YES to this, it would create a Forms
Server service in Control Panel-Services which you would then
    need to go and start.
Before doing this, however, I would recommend reading the
"Oracle Developer and Oracle Developer Server 6.0 Reviewers
    Guide" available from TechNet at:
    http://technet.oracle.com/product/tools/dev2k/rguide60.zip
It's a bit of a hefty download, but worth it, and gives a good
tour of other things you'll need to do in order to get things
    working.
    Hope this helps
    regards
