Where's the appleTV selection on the iTunes homepage. need to reload my appletv using the HDMI cable
Can't find the AppleTV icon on the iTunes page. Trying to reload using the HDMI cable method (crashed). What am I missing? I need to reload from iTunes.

When you say the remote is not working, does the light on AppleTV flicker when you use the remote but nothing happens?
If so hold Menu and left arrow/rewind keys TOGETHER for over 6 seconds and see if you get an unlinked chain appearing on screen- if you do it may now work.

wow, that was a quick reply. lol. but i have removed everything. I wasn't even able to get iTunes on my computer for a little while. i kept getting errors on that. Now it's saying that the required software isn't installed. Hmm, could it be referring to Apple Mobile Device Support? That is supposed to be installed with when iTunes gets installed right? I only ask, because that didn't get installed with the itunes setup.

If I change the nation setting of my iTunes in order to buy a song from the American iTunes store, then change my setting back to the Korean store (where you cannot buy music) will that create any problems with my downloaded content? I want to buy an album that I cannot get hold of in Korea, but it is available in the US iTunes store. However since most of my apps are downloaded from the Korean store I'll need to switch back in order to update them. Does anyone know if there are any issues in doing this. I'd rather find out before I spend money, change my store setting back to Korea, and then get told I can't listen to the music because I bought it from the US store and my iTunes is set to the Korean store.
Cheers.You canot easily change your country settings. The iTunes Store in a country is intended only for use by that country's residents, and only while they are in the country. To use the iTunes Store in a country you need a credit card (or other card type if acceptable in a country) issued in that country, billed to an address in that country, and also be physically present in that country when using the store. You are also restricted to waiting 90 days between country changes.

After selecting "Tones" within iTunes on iPad, I cannot get back to the regular music section. I am eternally stuck inside Tones. Help !! It's driving me nuts.
I copied this from an extremely knowledgable iTunes for Windows user in another discussion. Maybe this will help.
In Windows, you can restore much of the look & feel of iTunes 10.7 with these shortcuts:
ALT to temporarily display the menu bar
CTRL+B to show or hide the menu bar
CTRL+S to show or hide the sidebar
CTRL+/ to show or hide the status bar (won't hide for me on Win XP)
Click the magnifying glass top right and untick Search Entire Library to restore the old search behaviour
Use View > Hide <Media Kind> in the cloud or Edit (iTunes) > Preferences > Store anduntick Show iTunes in the cloud purchases to hide the cloud items. The second method eliminates the cloud status column (and may let iTunes start up more quickly)
If you don't like having different coloured background & text in the Album (Grid) view use Edit(iTunes) > Preferences > General and untick Use custom colours for open albums, movies, etc.
With iTunes 11.0.3 you can enable artwork in the Songs and playlist views from View > Show View Options (CTRL+J) making it more like the old Album List view.
If you are a Mac user, all you have to do is start navigating through the menu items at the top of the screen to find just about everything that is mentioned here. -
Today I was prompted to update iTunes, which I don't use that often. I found it was the newest version. Now, however, when I try to add a CD to my Library, I cannot find it. When I click import CD, it does not give me an option on where to save it to. I didn't have any trouble with the older version of iTunes, but now I am completely confused. I have read the file on Learn about iTunes, and it only tells me how to do it on the older version. Can someone please tell me how to do this now? I'd really appreciate it!
Oh, my OS is Windows Vista.iMac optical drive problems are often attributable to heat. The newer Intel iMacs aren't as bad as the 1st Gen G5s were (I know... I had one), but Apple optical drives tend to "flake out" when they get hot, and in iMacs, they get hot quickly. Near the end of my iMac's life, I was ONLY able to use the optical drive within the first five minutes after booting up. After that, it wouldn read, write or even accept a disc.
If yours works right after a long sleep or shut down, but then goes to failing, it's probably heat. -

ATV doesn't show iTunes playlists and doesn't play them using the Remote app

Using ATV3 with the latest software version and it is connected to the iTunes library (also latest version) on my Mac Mini.
When I go to Computers on the ATV I can see the content of the iTunes and am able to play both Music and Vidoes however I don't see the playlists on iTunes there. On the ATV configuration it is configured to Show playlists -> All but still no Playlists appearing at the top of my movie and TV show listings section.
When I connect to the ATV using the Remote app on the iPhone and go to Computers there I do see the playlists but unable to play the ones with Vidoes just music.
Any ideas what would cause these problems...?log into my library through more > computers where? on the Remote? This is exactly what i'm doing, I can see the content of my library there but I can't play movies from there.

My iphone 3gs will not connect to itunes and it says that I need to do a system restore. It also says that I need to enter my password on the iphone to connect to itunes but I can not do this because the phone is in emergency phone call mode only.
Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you can restore to factory settings.
Unfortunately, the data on your phone is already gone if you're seeing the connect to iTunes logo. -

I cannot use the back up function as have been advised that therer are bugs in it and restoring it back to my phone will bring the bugs with it and phone will be back to apple again as will start playing up again. But I need the music. Whn I plug it in laptop and go to itunes icon it gives me 2 options: Set up as new iphone? OR Restore from backup.
Do I pick set up as new phone? I dont know as the guy at the genius bar told me there would be an option asking if i want to sync itunes only...but there isn't.Set up as New and then... Re-Sync your Content from iTunes.

I would like to copy all the songs from one Ipod into another. All the songs are into my Itunes account, I tried to drag and drop the songs from the old Ipod to the new one but it doesn't work. Is there a way to do it ?
I share one Itunes account with other people from my family and one person would like to keep the same songs on the new Ipod as the ones which were on the old one.

Since I upgraded to Mavericks from Snow Leopard I need a work iTunes account for my work system, but used my work email address as an associated email to my personal iTunes account.

ITunes 10.2.1.1 crashes when using the visualizer
Running Win7, completely up to date, NVIDIA GeForce G210 with current drivers. When I start up the visualizer iTunes runs for a few songs and then suddenly goes silent, screen goes black, and my entire system freezes requiring a hard power-down. This started happening this week. Tried restoring to an earlier date but no help.
I can't use an application that fails. Does Apple want me to stop using iTunes?After a lot of research it seems Apple intentionally designed it this way. It's a power management issue. With iTunes 10, Apple decided to allow iTunes to "work with" the PC's power management settings, which means when the PC goes to sleep, iTunes allows it to do that. Having the visualizer going no longer keeps the system "active". And when it goes to sleep, it can't be woken up by anything other than a hard re-boot. So their intention is apparently to force Windows users to disable their security-related system sleep settings if they're to use the visualizer during extended plays. How wonderful. Apple is starting to sound more and more like the competition when it comes to user friendliness.

I just finished downloading and attempting the install of ios 7 on my iPhone 5. I'm using the newest version of iTunes.
And now, I'm stuck at the screen with the iTunes logo and the plug. But no matter how many times I try, recovery mode will not work. My phone is currently useless unless I can figure this out.No problem, glad to help!
Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine. -
I have a 3GS. The iPod on the phone has made duplicates of some songs. I’ve tried using the “get info” dialog box to set all the information the same but the dups are still there. Even after erasing all music with iTunes, iTunes is empty but they are still on the phone.
Some Users have reported that a Restore as New has Resolved Issues after the Upgrade...
