Where's the "InDesign" of web design?

Where's the app that behaves and works like InDesign? Why is it, we have to rethink and relearn every $*%&^ thing when it comes to making webpages and sites?
I want master pages. Text boxes with columns. A style pallete that ACTUALLY works like a freakin' styles pallete. Pantone spot color to rgb conversion built-in, just like every freakin' designer has used for the last 15 years.
Yeah, I can do all that crap by hand, but shouldn't have to.
I know how to code. I can write markup and javascript in my SLEEP. But by now I shouldn't HAVE TO. I'm so sick of being handed spoons and chisels when what I really want is a backhoe and jackhammer.

You may be thinking of QuarkXPress.

  • Where is the indesign cc (2013) installer now?

Anyone know where is the indesign cc (2013) install it's not in the cloud drop down?!
I need to install on my laptop to take away in the next 2 hours.
I do not want to install 2014 and have any compatibility problems.
This new version and dual Apps is seriously the biggest screwup Apdobe have ever made.  Their lovely sleek CC 'suite' is now just FUBAR.

Make sure you’ve got the newest version of the Creative Cloud application
In the CC app there’s the part "new apps", (below the already installed applications).
Right to the header there’s the option "filters & versions"
    > select "previous versions" there
    > the install button now gives you options for all app versions
(I don’t know what exactly the options are named in English, but I guess you can find it that way)

  • What is the recommended Adobe web design app for a beginner?

I am primarily a print designer who would like to learn web design, which Adobe app would best suit a beginner like me?

    Hello,
mytaxsite.co.uk's hint gave me the idea of poking around a little bit in my library. There I found some links where you can read more about layout (and basic HTML and CSS):

  • Where is the InDesign font folder in Windows 7?

I don't have Suitcase or other font managers. BUT..I like to have all my fonts at my fingertips. Was storing them into Program Files(X86)/Adobe/InDesign/Fonts. All were readily available. It slowed InDesign down a little, but worth it to me.  Any help is appreciated.

For 32-bit versions of ID , the location is the same, (as far as being in the InDesign/Fonts folder, but where you installed ID may not be under Adobe in the Program Files (x86) folder), for 64-t versions look in the Program Files folder.

  • Where is the "technical reference" or "design specification" for firefox?

The only way to efficiently use any program is to read how works. What operations, functions, or tasks, it can preform and how it performs them. Eccentrically, this defines the user interface. Then the user read: the "user guide" for a quick overview: the user manual for a complete listing of functions: the technical reference to design interface software to the application.
An program that only lists random bits of information on how to do something based on user questions, FAQs, limits the programs usage to morons, and and is therefor a time wasting piece of shit. The best solution to to install it, delete it, and get your money.. Then find another program or buy a MAC and live a much happier life.
Only one program in a thousand is written by someone smart enough that the program can be used intuitively without much user documentation. .

  • Where are the InDesign CS 5  pre-designed templates?

Just bought CS 5 Design Premium - if it came with pre-designed templates I can not locate them.  Can someone advise where they are located? Previous versions had them located under a "template" folder when you opened  InDesign.

Take a look at what's on the exchange. You might find something there: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?s=5&from=1&o=desc&cat=225&l=-1&event=produ ctHome&exc=19

  • Where is the InDesign CC SDK? It is still incomplete?

I was so excited that I couldn't sleep yesterday. I welcome NewRelease Adobe Creative Cloud.
I'm a plug-in developers. I'm looking for InDesign CC SDK.
I expect. New method is added to InDesign CC.  ...or it's deleted.
My search turned up nothing about InDesign CC SDK. InDesign Developer Center,This Forum, and another Adobe website.
At present, there is no released information? I want CC SDK information.
    Have a nice day!

@Yoshihiro.S – I cannot help with the SDK, but you can have a look at new properties and methods for JavaScript (ExtendScript) here:
    http://www.indiscripts.com/post/2013/06/so-what-s-new-in-indesign-cc-scripting-dom
Also, there is a dedicated sub forum for InDesign SDK here:

No, there is no such a plug-in for InDesign.

  • Where is the CS5.5 to CS6 Web Design Premium upgrade download link?!

I purchased the CS5.5 Web Design Premium equivalent to avail of the free upgrade to CS6 when it came out.
After too much fluffing around with Adobe's customer services (weeks upon weeks), I eventually received the upgrade disk through the post (I'm based in the UK).
The problem I now have is that this disk has become scratched and I can't wait to receive another disk.
After speaking with someone through the online chat, I was told that only those who purchased an online copy could download it. As I purchased directly through Adobe over the phone, I was not entitled to an auto-generated download link.
The upgrade also doesn't appear in my Product pages.
So, can someone please help to find out where I can download a copy of the upgrade, rather than wait for it to come through in the post?

As long as you have the serial numbers for the upgrade version and the base version(CS6 and CS5.5 respectively in your case) the programs will install fine. Download the trial version from www.adobe.com/downloads/ and install the software. During installation you may be asked for the CS5.5 serial number(after you enter your CS6 serial number). The installer file or setup.exe file is the same on the disks and on Adobe.com.
    Thanks

  • Is Dreamweaver the best web design software to learn for an aspiring web designer?

    Hi Everyone,
Perhaps difficult to get an unbiased answer to this in a
Dreamweaver forum but I'm sure most of you considered other web
development software before you went with Dreamweaver. Of course
the answer is not as straight forward as just choosing one piece of
software over another. I understand that there isn't really one
piece of software that ticks every box for the web designer. What I
mean is that there isn't one standalone piece of software that's
best for web design (HTML, CSS etc.), graphics and animation etc.
and that's why we have things such as Adobe Creative Suite. Anyway,
sticking to web design and development in the Dreamweaver sense,
would I be correct to advise someone who wants to work in the field
of web design to use Dreamweaver as their main tool? Particularly,
I would be interested to know if Dreamweaver really is the industry
standard as it's important to consider future job prospects.
I hope you understand what I'm asking.
Thanks, in anticipation for your help.
P.S. Has anyone heard of Enterprise Works?

    LOL... sure!

  • Which tool we can use in Web design except photoshop?

I have six experience in web  design developing,Need more advice,Which tool we can use in Web design except photoshop?

Dreamweaver is pro-level software for web designers & developers. If you have the necessary coding skills, there's not much you can't do with DW.  If you don't, the learning curve can be quite steep.
If you join the Creative Cloud, you have access to the following other web design products:
Muse is web design software aimed at non-coding designers & hobbyists.  The trade off for Muse's  "ease of use" is static HTML pages with limited functionality.  In other words, you could not use Muse to build a shopping cart site but it might be all you need for a simple  hobby, church or charity site.
    Edge Animate
For creating HTML5 Animations and interactive site pages.
    Edge Coder
    A coding editor.
    Edge Reflow
For creating responsive web design layouts that work on mobile phones, tablets & desktops.
Edge Web Fonts & TypeKit -- custom web fonts
PhoneGap -- for creating mobile apps

  • Web design software for Mac?

What is the best/easiest web design software for OSX Panther -- freeware/shareware or retail? I have a simple site I update once in a while (currently using an ancient copy of AOLPress on my old G3), so I don't need anything elaborate.
    Thanks very much --
    Christine

iWeb is probably the best easy-to-use, very simple, good looking and W3 validated code producing  application out there.
It does allow you to export your data and upload via FTP, yet Apple is definitely trying to sell a few more .Mac memberships.
NVU is quite good for more complex websites.
If you're looking for a very efficient way of administrating your website, adding new content and all kinds of features, check out Joomla, a Content Management System . You do however need a server that supports php and MySQL.
