  • Where do I find the power adapter for my Cinema Display?

I have recently aquired an older style of an Apple Cinema display. It didn't come with a power adapter, just the DVI cable coming out the back. I have done some research and understand that power and usb and video signal come through this one cable, but I have also come to know there is supposed to be a converter power box type thing between the display and the monitor. I can find boxes similar to the one I believe I need on Ebay and other sites, but not the exact one. They vary in style somewhat. Wondering if someone could steer me in the direction of where to get one and help me understand more of what I need and how it all works? The model/serial number on the monitor is CY3041XSLFA, it's a 23" Cinema HD Display, made in 2002. - Thanks -

If the display uses the Apple Display Connector (ADC)
    <http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/0/09/AppleDisplayConnector.j pg/800px-AppleDisplayConnector.jpg>
you will need a DVI to ADC adapter.

They are also available on eBay.

  • Where to find Power Adapter for iBook - 65W Model A1021?

Does anyone know where I can find a new power adapter for an older iBook?
    Details:
    Apple 65W
    Portable Power Adapter
    Model No. A1021
Cord seems to be fine, just need the brick.
    Thank you!!
    Teresa

The '12 PowerBook G4 1.5 GHz now uses the same power adapter as your iBook G4 does. The '12 PowerBook G4s originally shipped with the 45 power adapter brick Model A1022 but they started catching fire so Apple immediately recalled them. Just tell who you talk you on Apple's Support hotline that you want the power adapter that the '12 PowerBook G4 or iBook G4 uses.
Their Tech Support phone number is 1-800-274-2273.

  • Where do I get the AC to DC Power Adapter for a Linksys "Compact USB 4-Port Hub [USBHUB4C]

I have two Compact USB 4-Port Hubs, Model Number USBHUB4C.  These Hubs can be powered, but I cannot find any information on External Power Adapters for these Hubs in any of the documentation or on the Linksys Web Site.
I need to know if Linksys has such Power Adapters available, and if so what the Model Numbers are, and how or where to purchase them.
If I will need a third party Power Adapter, I need to know what the Output Voltage & Current requirements are, and I also need to know the Polarity of the of the two Jack Contacts.  [i.e. Is the center pin on the Hub's Jack Positive or Negative?]  If possible I'd like to have a recommended Brand and Model Number for the Power Adapter.
    Thanks In Advance,
    Bruce

    Hi, again,
Boy, am I glad I was able to find an answer to my problem in here.  I find this very interesting. Here it is, almost 3 years after I made the original post, that I need to find the Power information, for this Device, again, but because of a Computer Crash, I could not get to the original notes, I made about this Forum Entry, so I began the search, again.
I find this very interesting. Here it is, almost 3 years after I made the original post, that I need to find the Power information, for this Device, again, but because of a Computer Crash, I could not get to the original notes, I made about this Forum Entry, so I began the search, again.
I have myriad AC/DC Converters, some of which are Voltage Selectable, but since the Power Specifications aren't on the HUB, or in the PDF Documentation, as is the case with most other Products, I came back to LinkSys/Cisco.  As soon as I entered the Model Number of the "Compact USB 4-Port HUBs, Model Number USBHUB4C," for a search, this Forum entry came up on the page, and it appears there haven't been any queries, on any other subject, about this Device, in the interim.
Since the entry has been Viewed 2,484 times, hasn't it dawned on someone that it might be a good idea to carry a Power Product, that is compatible with this HUB, or at least provide a Specific Source, with a Model Number, (for instance, a Radio Shack SKU) so we don't need to hunt for one, over, and over.  Why the information was never included in the package with the HUB, beats me.  (It should have been on the Device, itself.)
Anyone who knows anything about USB Devices, knows that many of them cannot be powered from the USB Ports on a Computer, especially, on Laptops.  Since one of the things mentioned in the Specifications is the fact that you can have "Max. Devices 127 (Daisy-chaining Hubs Together)," it would seem to be obvious that Power Information would be necessary.  Since the "Daisy Chain" number is true, it should be obvious, that the "Chain" would require quite a few AC/DC Adapters to power it, adequately.
When this Device was Designed, the requirement for External Power must have been known, or there would never have been a Power Connector built into the Device.  I've been in electronics for about 50 years, now, and I know that presently, it's a rarity that the Power Requirements aren't shown on the Device itself, with a Symbol depicting the Polarity of both the Inner, and Outer Conductors.  Even Toys have that information shown on them.
I love these HUBs, but LinkSys/Cisco has really dropped the ball on this one.  I'm guessing that a lot of people have discovered, that if this 4-Port USB HUB doesn't have External Power, they quickly decided not purchase another one, when they need to "Daisy Chain" them together, for their Network of USB Devices.
When you consider the loss of HUB Sales, coupled with a loss of income from a Power Supply they've never stocked, the numbers could be quite large.  That's not even considering the Support time I'm guessing would have been necessary when Customers determined they had a problem, and needed answers.  (It's not really a guess, since I talked to several Support People, without getting a satisfactory answer, before I finally came to this Forum, as a last resort.)
I was actually shocked to find that LinkSys/Cisco, didn't sell an AC/DC Power Supply for the HUB, because Power Supplies like that are so commonly required, with the Electronics sold, today.  I'd be willing to wager that LinkSys/Cisco does, in fact, carry an AC/DC Power Supply that would be compatible with the "Compact USB 4-Port HUBs, Model Number USBHUB4C," they sell.  When something like this happens, I wonder how many other Opportunities like this, have been missed by the people who work for this company.
We've all heard the expression about "Being too close to the Forest, to see the Trees."  This may be a good example of it's meaning.  At least I was able to find the answer to my Problem, thanks to the fact that the Query I made almost, 3 years ago, which had an answer, was still available to me, thanks to this Forum.
    Very Interesting!

  • Where can I get accessories and power adapter for Powerbook 180c

My father just bought me second hand a Powerbook 180c. It looks to be in great condition. But it can't be checked to make sure as the battery is dead and the power adapter was not with it. I've looked on line at various stores, Office Depot, Staples, Amazon, Buy, etc only to find that they either do not carry Apple products or the accessories and power adapters would not work. Or the prices are disgustingly high. Due to illness I cannot work and my parents are on a limited budget. Does anyone know what sites carry accessories and power adapters that will work on the 180c without breaking the bank, atleast a power adapter for now, to see if the 180c even works? Any advice appreciated.

Hi, I'm not sure that a retail store will still carry an adaptor this old unless it's a generic one.
I just checked mine, as Jan says it is 7.5V DC at 3.0A don't get the older version which was for older PowerBooks as it was only 2.0A. The part number on my 3.0A is M5652.
This fellow on eBay seems to have lots.

  • Where buy Power Adapter for cheapest Zire

I have a Zire from a couple years ago, the cheapest one you can buy.  So cheap it wasn't on display where you had to get a slip and ask customer service to get the item for you from the back.  You could just get it off the shelf, it was so cheap. It think it was called Zire 1 or something.  Where can I buy a replacement power adapter for it?

Hello citrus8 and welcome to the Palm forums.
You should check with PDAParts.com or UsedPDAParts.com.  UnityElectronics.com might also be a source if the first two don't have any spare parts.

  • Which power adapter for Europe

I will be visiting Russia soon and I would need a power adapter for both my macbook pro and my iphone, any idea of what is needed? Thanks!

"but what about my digital camera batteries? This is no use to charge my batteries... I am also confuse with the adapter/converter required, what is the difference? "
Most digital cameras come with a universal power adapter (100-240V, 50-60Hz) and can be used anywhere. To be sure, check the power adapter that came with your camera. The AV power input will be marked on the adapter. Depending upon where you purchased the camera, the AC prong configuration will change. If it was purchased in the US, you can use the same AC prong adapter that works with the MBP and iPhone.
If you have a charger specifically for your camera batteries, it probably does not have a universal power adapter - you can check the markings to be sure. Accordingly, the easiest thing to do is to bring a supply of batteries with you. If you live in the US, "good" batteries are cheaper there than anywhere else. If you wait until you get to Russia, you'll find that good batteries are very expensive, and the cheap batteries are very bad.

  • A/C Power Adapter for EUROPE

    Hi All,
Can anyone recommend an A/C Power adapter for my IBM Thinkpad T60, which I can plug into the European 2-Pin A/C outlet?  I don't want to use converters because the A/C outlets where I am staying are recessed and the pins are not long enough to reach the receptacle.  I need an actual A/C Adapter that can also operate on the European Frequency.

All ThinkPad AC Adapters are rated with input 100V-240V. This means you can use your own adapter, all you will need is the power cable.

  • Could I have got a new power adapter for free?

My power adapter for my mac stopped working recently and as far as I know I didn't cause any damage to it myself.
I read the following on the apple website:
    Additional Information
Whether your product is in or out of warranty, you can take your adapter to an Apple Authorized Service Provider or Apple Retail Store for evaluation and replacement if necessary. Pending the results of evaluation, you may or may not be eligible for a replacement adapter free of charge. Signs of accidental damage would negate any coverage. Be sure to bring in the computer used with the adapter; it is required to process potential adapter replacements.
Which seems to suggest that even out of warrenty, if the charger has broken of it's own accord you can still get a free replacement?
I took my adapter and mac to the shop, they said there were no signs of accidental damage but said I still have to pay for it. I referred to this statement from the website but they were very dismissive and kept saying it was out of warrenty. Perhaps i'm reading the statement wrongly.
Just wondered if anyone could clarify :-)

As you indicated, it depends on the results of the evaluation.
Apple takes responsibility when design faults cause certain failures, especially when it represents a safety concern. There have been a small number of cases where failure met certain characteristics that Apple deemed that it should not have happened, regardless of age or use.
I am reluctant to indicated the specificity of some of these issues, because for many reasons Apple would not want us speculating on the subject. Suffice it to say your product failure may not have met any particular characteristics associated with failures deemed to have extended coverage.
If your product failed for an unknown reason, or apparently a failure stemming from age or normal life expectancy use, and it was after the normal expiry of warranty, then no further consideration was given. You need to buy and pay for a new one, unless you yourself, can provide extenuating circumstances to consider.
