Where to put new image files

Hi,
after looking at the show flash I see that images that came from the factory are stored in drwx. The images I have installed are always preceded by -rwx.
From what I understand the drwx is a directory. Is there any benefit from storing them this way and should I make it best practice to do so? Thanks, Pat.

Hi Pat,
I know with catalyst switches the .bin image is bundled with html files as a .tar file, this enables the use of http server to directly connect to device and make configuration changes.
This is most likely what you are seeing, otherwise it is pretty standard to have the .bin image stored in the top level of flash.

  • Simulate Acquisition does not include new image file created after first call

For example, I have 5 images in a folder.
    I call Simulate Acquisition.
It cycles through all 5 images.
Now If I include 1 more image it does not include this image in the "cycle". I need to reload this step by clicking Main\path\browse button and select any image in the folder and then it cycles through all 6 images.
Is there anyway to automatically include new images added to the folder after the step has been created?
    Thanks.

Here's a sample inspection and VI to illustrate how you could do this. I used an image variable and passed this into the Run LV step so the VI could read the file and update the image variable and then I used the Select Image step to get the image variable into the VBAI script so you can process it. I also added a delete option in the VI so you can delete the previous image when you read the next available image. Make sure to go to the Setup State and initialize the path variable to where your image files will live (to access the Setup State, go to View>>View Complete Inspection and select on the Setup option on the left hand side. I initialized it to c:\Image Folder
    Hope this helps,

  • Where to put the properties file

I am a new user of NetBeans6.0, I am making a simple application for user registration. I have coded everything but when I run project I get error caused by the dao.properties file load problem.
I have put the dao.properties file inside the classes directory(where all java class files are build after running the project) of my web application directory( I didn't create this directory though, it is automatically created by IDE), I think there is a problem with its path.
where should I put the dao.properties file so that when I run the project the Tomcat automatically find it and also, what the settings I should do?
actually, I have referred to BalusC'd  DAO tutorial: the data layer but that comes in use when we are working off the IDEs, In my case since I am using Netbeans so it may be different from that one.
if someone already done that then please let me know

ok, but will it work if I upload the project in a remote host?
lets talk besides IDE, as in your DAO tutorial you have instructed to put the properties file somewhere in root of the classpaths. ok, it will work on a local computer cause there is classpath setting but since remote host doesn't know about that property file and we cant set classpath at remote host(I am not sure though if we can) then how will it work at remote host.
how the server at remote host comes to know about that property file?
In my case since I have made the project using IDE and everything regarding classpaths have been set automatically(IDE done itself), but at remote host these sort of settings are not done then how the project will run?
if I have described my problem incorrectly then please consider it as it is supposed to be.

  • Where is the user image file located?

So, I know this has been discussed before, but I can't find a sollution that works in Mountain Lion.
I'd like to be able to locate the image file which I'm using for my user account icon. It also appears in iMessage and Contacts, but I can't drag it to the the desktop. Because I don't know the file name, I can't search for it.
Does anyone know where it is stored? Or how I can extract it?

    Hi,
Previously in iChat the "Recent Pics" were stored and shown in the Drop down in the Buddy list.
    The place was ~/Library/Images
In Mountain Lion it appears that the Drop Down shows "Recent Pics" but is pulling them from several sources.
    The Messages Drop down
The Recent Picture Folder has these:-
    Some Match and some don't.
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.AddressBook holds the Zebra and copies of my Sig and thre Union Flag.
At present I cannot find the ones the System Preferences > User and Groups > your account has as Pic are stored.
Some of the pics are the Apple Default ones.  (Hardrive Name/Library/User Pictures)
You can also take a Snap Shot on Macs with cameras  and I guess it is this that you are after ?

I've searched all over the web and haven't found any information about this.It doesn't work like that, that's why there's no info. You can't load 3D LUTs into the camera. There are pre-contructed 3D LUTs already in the camera's 3.0 firmware referred to by Sony as "Looks", but as of FW 3.0, you can't load your own. If in the future they do allow this, it looks as though 3D LUTs from Resolve would first have to be loaded into Raw Viewer and converted into something more camera friendly, and then Raw Viewer wrotes it to an SD card in the correct file/folder structure. You CAN do 1D LUTs today though, using Raw Viewer.

  • Where to put AntiXssLibrary.dll file after installation of BPC Server

    Hi Experts,
In the installation of BPC, that is after the installation of BPC Servers there comes another step "Installing the Anti-Cross Site Scripting Library"....The document tells us to download "AntiXssLibraryV1.5Installer.msi" and run the setup. Once it gets done the final step says "Copy AntiXssLibrary.dll to %BPC_PROGRAM%\Websrvr\Web\bin on both the BPC Application server and the BPC Web server." I can't understand where i should paste the file on Application Server and I could paste it in "C:\BPC\WebSvr\Web\Bin" what is the other location I should put the file.
I am installing BPC on single server...Please help me out...
    Thanks

    Hello,
    Please use the follow link

to download an installation kit for Microsoft Anti-Cross Site Scripting Library.
In this way you will not have any more the problem where to put a dll and what you have to do with it.
This program should be used into application server it is not necessary to put it into db server.
If you have problem regarding unzip of dimensions then you have to check if you have into client side into C:\Program Files\BPC the dll xceedzip.dll and you have to check if this was correct register. (using regsvr32).
I hope this help to understand what is that dll and what you have to do to complete the installation of SAP BPC server.

  • Where to put ~ITSMOBILEDEVICEINCLUDE html-file?

    Hi,
we are building an ITS Service based on ABAP-Dynrpos (similar to LM01).
We are using the Motorola (Symbol) MC3100 Handheld Scanner and want it to perform an "Auto-Enter" after scanning a barcode.
    I found this:
    http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1311169
Mobile Devices and Browser - Wiki - SCN Wiki
My understanding is, that we need to define a ~ITSMOBILEDEVICEINCLUDE in the service (in SICF).
But where to put this device specific HTML-file on the server? Or am I misunderstanding something here...?
    Thank You for your input!
    Jan

Never mind, I found out myself. You can create this file directly in SE80.
Navigate to Your ITS service in SE80 and then right click on the "HTML Templates" node of your ITS-Service, then choose "create" from the context menu...
Samples of device include files can be found in SE80 for ITS-Service ITSMOBILE01:

  • Anyconnect 4 as 802.1x supplicant replacement for Windows - where to put config xml file?

I want to try out Anyconnect NAM as a 802.1x supplicant replacement in Windows 8.1
And I have made myself a fine little config xml file that I want to test.
But where do I put that config file?
Should I rename it to something special, or should Anyconnect NAM have some extra startup parameters?
    Thank you.

The file must be called "configuration.xml" and if you already installed NAM, then put the file in \Users\All Users\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client\Network Access Manager\newConfigfiles\ and restart the anyconnect service
If instead you are creating an install package for deploying, you can put the configuration in a directory named Profiles/NAM/  together with the msi package, the installation will import the config itself.when you run the msi file.

  • Where to put shared JSP files in Tomcat?

I'm building two different web applications. Both applications are deployed within Tomcat. Now these applications share some JSP files. I can not figure out where to put JSP files that are shared (with the include directive) among several applications. Can anyone help me?
    Thanx debeumers

Well, now I'm not so sure anymore. But I have some
checkboxes I want to share among different
applications. So why can you share classes and jar
files and can not share JSP's?Sounds like more trouble than it's worth. Disk space is cheap. I'd deploy them with each app.
The only thing that would make me hesitate is the DRY principle. In that case, I might have "common" JSPs in my version control. I'd have the Ant script from each Web app check out the same "common" JSPs and build them into WARs. That would keep those JSPs common and not violate DRY. JMO - MOD

  • Exporting or relocating masters changes the created date on the new image/file/s ?

When I export or relocate masters onto hard drive (internal or external) it changes the created date? I have tried every option possible with no resolve. Can anyone help? eg. img98007.jpg (arranged by date in aperture and is 12/05/2001) when saved/created on the hard drive the created date will be 27/06/2008????

    I'm afraid you've lost me.
You started off (it seemed) by asking why the image EXIF date in Aperture was different then the image file date in the Finder.
The best I can say is that when an image is captured in a camera you get one date. When that image is made into a computer file the file will have another date.
I want to consolidate/sync all my files over the last decade from iphoto libraries etc. The only way to do this is to import them into aperture then export them to the finder with the correct shot dates so I can sync all images.
If it changes the created date etc. it will be impossible to do so??
What do you mean by this? I can understand the consolidate, you want to move all your images from all sources into Aperture, not a problem, but what is the sync part referring to? And why do you feel you need to export them from Aperture once you have imported them?
And again the created date of a file is the date the file is created it has nothing to do with the image creation date.
Sorry I can't be of more help,
    regards

  • Where should I put new images

Background - I am a long time Elements user on Windows. On disk my images are organized in folders by subject and that cannot change. With Elements I copy the images from a card into a subfolder of My Pictures\New. I then move the images into other folders under My Pictures\New based on subject or on special processing (focus stacking, HDR) that is required before final editing. I then edit with the Elements Editor and when done I move the images to their final directory and import them into Organizer.
In LR this workflow must change since I cannot edit without importing the images into LR. My current thought is to follow the same procedure up to the point where I am ready to edit. At that point I will add the images in a subfolder to LR, edit them, then move the images (or the entire folder) to the final location using the Folders panel in LR. If moving with LR does not work well I can delete the images from LR, move them using Explorer, then add them to LR again.
Does this seem like a reasonable workflow? Any suggestions as to how to do it better in LR? Thanks.

It's hard to see from your description why you are adding Lightroom into this already complicated workflow at all. I don't see the benefit, I just see more workflow complications. You say "LR offers enough advantages..." and then seem to rule out many of the biggest advantages, including simplifying workflow and organizing, and you don't state what advantages you do get from adding Lightroom to the workflow. You also seem to be discounting the cost to you of a more complicated workflow; it has been my experience after years in Lightroom forums, that Lightroom is not "friendly" towards such complicated work-flows, and actually adds additional amounts of work to achieve a complicated workflow over and above the same workflow using your operating system or using Elements.
I never recommended storing photos into a single large folder. You can certainly put them in folders, that's what I do. What I was advising against was thereafter, moving photos from one location to another to represent stages in your workflow, or to use folders to have specific meaning, because Lightroom tools are more suited for that purpose.
Since there is no way to convert a LR catalog to Elements that would mean starting over in Organizer which would be a big job with a sensible folder structure and impossible without it.
I also can't agree with your concern about getting "locked into" Lightroom and then being unable to find your files. Are you aware that you'd also need Lightroom to see your edits? If you are going to protect yourself against a possible future in which Lightroom was not available, you'd also need a step to export all your photos so you could find them and use the edited versions without Lightroom, from a folder somewhere in your organization scheme.
But any metadata can be written to the photos themselves, and used by any other photographic application, so migrating from Lightroom to any other photographic application is indeed possible. Starting over, no, it wouldn't be starting over; it would be more like importing into another photographic application and then using your existing metadata.

  • Where to put persistent (writeable) files in web apps?

I want to persist a small amount of data from a web-app, saving when the app is stopped and reloading when started.
This will be done from a ContextListener, and I plan simply to serialise a small table when the context is destroyed.
The question is, where should I put the file? Obviously I could simply specify an absolute directory, probably via an environmental entry (so as to specify it in the server, since it would be dependant on server configuration). I'd far rather have something more automatic.
I suppose I could put it somewhere under WEB-INF, but that doesn't seem right, the web-app directory should be read-only.
Servlet engines typically have a writable working directory where they keep compiled JSPs and persisted sessions, but is there a standard way of getting to it?

Well, now I'm not so sure anymore. But I have some
checkboxes I want to share among different
applications. So why can you share classes and jar
files and can not share JSP's?Sounds like more trouble than it's worth. Disk space is cheap. I'd deploy them with each app.

  • Where to put local DTD files in Java projects

I'm working on a Netbeans project where the program funcion is driven by an XML configuration file, which will be distributed with the program.
It's structured enough to warrant a DTD. The problem is, accesing it.
I'm currently accessing the XML as a resource, in the same directory as Main.class, which is in a package directory. Using a system <!DOCTYPE with a simple filename for the DTD works fine in the Netbeans XML editor, but, of course, when I run the program it runs with the project base as the current directory and can't find it. And the situation will be even worse when I prepare the program for distribution.
Anyone found a tidy approach to this? Is there some way of modifying the way the DocumentBuilder accesses DTDs?

Thanks - that works fine and is quite neat.
                builder.setEntityResolver(new EntityResolver() {
                    public InputSource resolveEntity(String publicId, String systemId) throws SAXException, IOException {
                        if(systemId.endsWith("lapsync.dtd")) {
                            return new InputSource(getClass().getResourceAsStream("lapsync.dtd"));
                        } else
                            throw new SAXException("Unknown entity " + publicId + " - " +
                                    systemId);
                });
