Which replacement screen and vid mirror adapter to buy
Hello everyone,
I am looking for guidance on the following...
1. I would like to replace my G3 iBook 12 inch screen, its a little bunged up with SCRATCHES so its time for a new one, any suggestions?
2. In order to video mirror on my G3 2 suggestions have been made, the first is a special adapter about 125 bucks, the other is the dvi vga adapter as seen on the apple website which is about 20 bucks, Now..
the first is outrageous in pricing I beileve especially compared to the second option, which also doesn't work, because the DVI port on my iBook is rectangular not square like the new ones, so that 20 dollar jobby wont do, surely someone out there video mirrors on their iBook and knows what to do and where to go.

1. It's probably not worth the cost of a display. $250 is the cheapest I've found. Are you up to replacing just the panel, do you think?

We had this happen with a ipad mini, took it back to person who worked on it, after a week with trying to get it working again, he replaced it. I will agree with the other replies take it back to repair place there must be something inside the phone that if you don't do repair excalty right it messes up all phone functions. Also I would give the repair person a time frame to either get it working or replace it.

I have a video card a couple of years old - an ATI Radeon HD 7850 with 2GB VRAM, and it drives the big 30" monitor as well as my two older 20" monitors turned up sideways perfectly, to make a Photoshop editing station that's potent. All the various Photoshop panels are on the sides, and the entire central monitor is available for the actual editing.
As far as computers go, I've yet to find a machine better for Photoshop work than a Dell Precision Workstation. Others will of course have their own opinions.
It's possible to find off-lease workstations, such as the Precision T5500 system shown above, being sold used on eBay by refurbishers. Depending on who you choose you might even get a Dell warranty (I did). Their newer T5600 line is current, which makes the just off cutting edge systems cheaper. You can score a good deal this way, but you need to educate yourself very well on the options before choosing a model with particular set of features. Another member on here (JJMack) got a good deal on a Precision T5600 refurbed from Dell direct. I hope he chimes in and describes his experience with his T5600.
Some things to think about:
SSD storage is greatly preferable over HDD storage, and is well worth the additional cost. Do not skimp here. Get more than you need. Consider building a RAID array of them.
More RAM is better, and much more is much better.
A good balance between individual core speed and core count is needed. Too much of one and not enough of the other isn't as good.
If you want multiple monitors, a single modern video card that can drive multiple monitors is essential; don't try to run Photoshop with multiple video cards.

Cost or replacing screen and rubber bottom?
The rubber bottom part of my 2009 Macbook has started to come off so I want to get it replaced. Does anyone have an idea of the cost that Apple would charge? And also what is the cost of replacing the screen? I have a scratch on it and it is constantly multiplying in size.

What is the diffrence between an OEM screen and a Non-Oem screen?
i wanted to buy a new screen for my ipod because my brother cracked it. so i was wondering wat was the difrence between an OEM and a non-OEM screen? like is there a diffrence on the pixels?

Yeah, that's a given. The point is, OEM can be used two different ways. One way is to say the parts are Apple branded. Toshiba might make the part following specifications supplied by Apple, and then the part gets a label that says Apple. In this case Apple is the OEM.
The other way is to say that the OEM is the company that makes the part for Apple. In this second case, the factory could make a run of parts for the 'aftermarket' and use the term "OEM" in their add copy and not be guilty of fraud.
However, just because a Chinese vendor says their parts are "OEM," does not make it so. In fact, I would think that only Foxconn and its suppliers could make that claim, and I seriously doubt Foxconn is dumping parts on eBay....
HINT: China is notorious for producing counterfeit goods. -

The other day I dropped my phone and it cracked on the bottom right hand side to about the middle and I need to know does apple replace screens and if they do how much will it cost?
No. They only replace the display on the 5 and 5c. An out of warranty replacement for the 4S will cost $199. They replace the entire phone.

I just received a replacement iPad and when I connected it to my computer I followed the prompts exactly like the apple tech told me too. When I got to a prompt asking if I wanted to restore the iPad he said to click on it. I did. Now my iPad screen is frozen on the iTunes connect screen and I cannot get out of it. An iPad shows connected in my iTunes folder, but when I run a diagnostic it says no iPad is detected.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have an iphone 5. I have no idea of the ios version in it. Recently i broke my iphone screen and its showing up nothing. it was never synced to itunes or to any pc. When i tried to connect iphone to itunes in my pc it was asking for passcode which i had forgotten ages ago. Suggest me the possible ways to recover my iphone.
Since the screen doesn't work, it will be challenging to get it working, even thru iTunes. You will need to ask yourself if you want to invest more money in it or get a new one, especially since the contents will be lost since you don't know the passcode. Apple will gladly replace the screen for a cost that represents a significant portion of the price of a new. Once the screen is done, you may or may not be eligible for the free iPhone 5 Battery Replacement Program.
Or, if you decide to salvage it and are strong of heart and firm of hand, you can replace the screen yourself for less. See here and note they carry kits with all needed tools and parts. -
My iphone has a smashed screen and my laptop which it was connected to has died under warrantee and been replaced. I am going to replace my iphone but want to back it up first. Unfortunately the screen wont work and there is a password on it meaning I cant access it from my itunes account on the new laptop. How can I disable the password from itunes and back up the phone. It wont turn off or activate any sliders.
You can't disable the password. If you could, what would be the point of having one?

It's a good thing you have your Camera Roll backed up from the last sync you did with either iTunes or iCloud!
Your Camera Roll photos can be retrieved from the last sync once you get your replacement iPhone. The rest of your photos are backed up elsewhere on your computer from your last sync. -
I took my Iphone 4 to an Apple retail store. It had a cracked screen and I got and out warrantee replacement for $149. Everthing works but the display is subpar. The wallpaper and images appear muddy yellow and the colors appear washed out.

I have just now tried the Reinstall via iTunes, about 20 into the download, the iTunes logo on the phone disappeared, and the Apple Logo appeared again,,, I waited until the iTunes stated that the download had finished, and the install was in progress,,,
Nothing happened, still the Apple Logo was visual on the screen, iTunes never recognised the phone which it was on my iTunes account previously,,,
Still just a bunch of lines, maybe 5 or 6 so small writing,, I personally can not read what it is telling me, someone said it reads, incorrect shutdown,,,????????

I have got a 13 inch MacBook Pro and it got stuck in a loop so I switched it off by holding the power button down and now when I switch it on the apple logo appears then I get a blank slot at the bottom of the screen then the circle appears and rotates and then it switches off again, I have tried starting it again with the system disc that came with it when it was new but it makes no difference. Is there a sequence that I can use to force it to start.

Take it to whoever replaced the screen and see if they can help you.
iPhones are not user servicable and Apple does not sell iPhone parts at all. I'd be surprised if you were actually able to back it up at this point. It sounds like it's completely borked. -
I got my ipad2 replaced yesterday. And this new ipad started giving me problem by crashing aps. Then I restored the ipad twice but the problem was still there. I called apple and they fixed it by doing Reset All Settings. But now I have this weird problem. When I open Mail the screen flickers random blue and gray appeared on the screen. I took a video too. Will that happen again? Is it hardware problem? This ipad2 32GB was replaced yesterday and I think it is refurbished. Are replace product refurbished?
There is no way for anyone here to know if your replacement iPad is a refurbished unit. Per Apple's replacement policy, replacements can be refurbished units. If you feel the unit is not working correctly, take it back, let them check it out and if found defective, they will replace that unit.

Anyone know which render format I should use, my film will be used on a video wall (12 screens) and I need super quality. My footage format is 1080p HD resolution 1920x1080. I will be running the project from a mac with a direct line to video wall. Thanks in advance.
I do some VJ-type work, involving playback of QuickTime files from the computer to projections, and I get good results using ProRes 422. That's convenient, because ProRes 422 is such a great editing codec, too.
Traditionally, VJs use PhotoJPEG codec, which also works well, but it's a bad editing codec. So you would have to export an edited master, then convert.
If you want it to look as good as possible, definitely schedule some time to test the footage on the wall. You may want to change the color correction of your footage to match the projectors. And if you feed the video wall some flat gray, you can see if any of the projectors need to be adjusted.
I'm not sure what application you're using for playback, but QuickTime Player 7 works well. It has an option to play fullscreen on an external monitor (View > Present Movie…).
