Which type of screens do you guys have??? Glossy or Anti-glare
I just want to know which one is better. Which one is easies to get scratched? Which one is stable? And Which one is easies to get clean? Thanks
I'm planning to purchase a 17" Macbook Pro and have wondered the same. I found an Apple Store that had both of them on display and was able to compare them a bit. Bear in mind, firstly, as has been said many times before, this is largely a matter of opinion.
Some observations:
Color on both screens is excellent. In the super-bright apple store I thought they were both easy enough to read and adequately bright. YMMV.
The glossy screen is VERY glossy. In the brightly lit apple store, there is basically no angle where there will be no reflections. However, it is possible to get rid of the worst of the glare by adjusting your viewing angle.
The matte screen is much less glossy. Fancy that. It's about the same as any old-fashioned screen you might have seen on another laptop.
Colors on the matte screen are perhaps a bit more "dull". Colors on the glossy display definitely "pop". If you have seen a matte cinema display next to a glossy cinema display, you know what you're dealing with here in my opinion.
The matte display has NO protection over it. It is just the thin plastic layer like you'd have on any laptop. If you touch it, it will sort of "haze" and then fade back to normal. From experience with these screens in the past, fingerprints and dust can be difficult to clean and you want to be careful what you use to clean it.
The glossy screen is covered with a solid piece of glass. If you touch it, it does not affect the display. My assumption is that it will clean very easily with glass cleaner and a cloth.
Given I have a 3yr old and have seen my matte displays degrade with time due to accidents etc, I think I'm going to go along with Apple on this one and go for the glossy screen. Aside from the durability factor, personally, I'd prefer the Matte display. Lack of glare trumps "pop" any day for me.

The only available, signed, iOS, for your iPod, is iOS 7.1. That's why you can't install iOS 6.1.6.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. Based on what you stated, it sounds like you have no service on the iPhone. It looks like you have already done some troubleshooting. There is one step you did not mention trying that i think is worth trying.
If you see No Service in the status bar of your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support
Remove the SIM card. If the SIM card is damaged, worn, or bent, or if it's too big or small for the SIM tray, contact your carrier for a new one. Then reinsert the SIM card.

Let me start off by stating that I'm no professional nor do I have the extensive knowledge to tell you exactly what wrong. What I know is from plain research I did when I was trying to decide wether to upgrade my macbook 6,1 (late 2009) model to 4GB or 8GB. Which by the way, what is your MacBook ID? 4,1 or 5,1 or 6,1
What I found is that Apple says that my Macbook 6,1 can only go up to 4GB of RAM but it can actually go up to 8GB. From the explanation they gave I understood that Apple, states what that particular machine can be upgraded to at the current time that model is manufactured.
I learned a lot mainly from different forums on the internet and the comments of people.
Try this web site macsales.com and see what they suggest you upgrade yours to.
The web site also helps you find you exact MacBook model to be able to upgrade accordingly. Heck you may also get a tech on a chat line and he can tell you what's wrong with your current RAM.

Which type of apps can you virtualize

I'm new to ZAV, and wants to know which type of applications you can virtualize and which type not, and why.
if you take for example adobe reader, how is it possible to associate the file extension .pdf to that file and how is the integration with internet explorer . Are that things working with ZAV?, because everything is in 1 executable.
I hope someone can explain me this.Allright so you don't use the whole adminstudio suite.. you can a lot with it, but probably ZAV is enough for most of the things. That's great.
I'm doing monitor instead of snapshot, because it's better to "monitor" the installation process instead the "before" "after" solution. but ok not interesting.
Ofcourse i'm not re-package an msi again. Always use the Tuner or ORCA or ZCM builtin Properties (very handy). You can say 90% of the apps are msi's. But not for our software vendors. I'm working on local government and much software are old old setups/installers. Very annoying. I think 10% of our software is MSI, So i have to do it by myself.
But making MSI's is not my core-business on my work. I'm System Engineer, so doing everything and have to know things about everything :S.
So i'm also user very often (if possible) the built in silent commandline paramenters. As example for Inno Setups i record the answer file. Or use a simple Setup.exe /s and afterward i'm removing the shortcuts with zcm "file removal" .
And ok, the are not in MSI format, but it works!, And since there is not a standard in how setups are working, or vendors don't create the msi for me, i have todo what's working.
But dandirk, Do you also have alluser problems with ZAV? or does the whole problem never exists because it's 1 executable, and for each user it's creating an sandbox.
Do you have experience with creating the sandbox on a network share.. For example on the Homedirectory. We are not using roaming profiles, so if i put it in the userprofile it's gone after re-imaging.

Though importing msi is not a bad thing to try if you have problems with the snap.
If you are doing "monitor" captures with installshield often, you are probably missing something. 90% of apps are msi now a days. Installshield should give you a warning that an install is already an msi when you start your monitor. If an app is already an msi, you DO NOT want to remonitor/snap it with installshield. Its much better to extract the msi (if needed) and use tuner or installshield to create a MST. -

It's a web-app and uses SQL so I thought it might conflict with vCenter, but I took the risk and now I'm paying for it. I completely uninstalled all Solarwinds programs and SQL 2008 R2 (still have SQL 2012, as I did originally), but I cannot start the VMware vCenter services that run vCenter (vctomcat & vpxd). Also, I got an error twice that IIS is not installed, even though it *is* installed. I have already removed SQL Express (2k8) as a dependent service and "Protected Storage" was not listed (I'm referencing this). The error I get when I try to start the VPXD service now is:

I have several lenses and a Celestron telescope that used my old Minolta camera body. I want to be able to use them on a digital camera and I understand that you guys took over Minolta. Sony bought the camera division of Konica Minolta, and continues to use the Minolta A-Mount for its interchangeable lens DSLR and SLT cameras, so any A-Mount lens made for a Minolta or Konica Minolta camera since 1985 will probably work fine on any Sony Alpha with a two- or three-digit model number. In addition, Sony sells adapters so those same lenses can be used with Sony's Alpha models with one- or four-digit model numbers, albeit not with complete functionality. Lenses made before 1985 would use Minolta's older SR-Mount (MC/MD), which can be adapted to work with Sony's current interchangteable lens cameras, the adapters only provide a simple mechanical connection which doesn't support any autofocus or autoexposure capabilities that the camera may have.

I have an anti glare monitor and I like the way it is, I want to buy antiglare screen protector but I heard that anti glare screen protectors kill the charm of the retina display is it true? Screen Ward is the brand I am going for is it good? Just want my iPad protected.
Some will say none. That they have never used a screen protector and never will. Others always use them. I'm one of the latter. I have a Zagg screen protector on my iPad. They are expensive but they come with a lifetime warranty, so if it gets damaged protecting your device they exchange it for free.
I have found that you get what you pay for with screen protectors. Buy a cheap thing off amazon, you'll get a cheap thing that probably won't stay on your device. -

My primary use is text editing and document reading (primarily Word).
I want as good as possible "clearness" or is it called contrast, leat blurry looking text.

TerjeIf I were you, I would opt for the high-res/anti-glare option - it's only $100US now: back when I purchased my MBP in March of 2012, it was a $250 option which I just couldn't afford. Now, looking at the new models side-by-side, I wish that I had ponyed up the $250 for the HR/AG option.
I'm certain that you won't regret it - the people that have the option seem to be tickled pink with it. These days I'm using a (glossy) 17" Apple Thunderbolt Display 90% of the time in a semi-dark room. But I find that my MBP with the glossy screen is simply unusable when outdoors or in bright backlighting.
