While preparing an AUDIT - (Data changes report) faces an 'Server error' message

Hi BPC Experts,
While preparing an AUDIT report- (Data changes report) faces an 'Server error' message.
But regular users are able to input their data in EPM.
What could be the reason for this message?

Face time server error message

facetime won't allow login and says server encountered error

Options for auditing data changes

Hi Friends,
I thought I will get some inputs on my following implementation. The requirement is to audit some data changes with in the system.( Oracle 10.2 on RHEL 4.7 )
The audit is required in a sense that, the before images of data and information of who changed the data is required. I have looked at options like Oracle Auditing,FGA and so. But this cannot give me audit for the data changes,when and who changed.
The first thing that comes into my mind are using triggers . Another option is using log miner. I have successfully tested it out with both of these approaches. The environment is like
1 ) For some critical tables for which audit is required triggers were written ( ours is an OLTP application )
2 ) For some non critical tables, log miner which was called by a stored procedure which runs at certain periods is used.
3 ) audit data is stored in a different schema , with same table names as in base schema.
I would like to know your thoughts on this.

The delay with log miner is acceptable with some less critical audit tables and as you said, tirggers can be implemented for some critical tables.
One bottleneck with using logminer is that it depends on the availability of archived redo logs, the backup mechanism if any implemented should make sure that, no archive logs are removed from the locations specified for the audit program. The backup mechanism should ensure that all archived logs are processed by periodically running audit program which uses log miner.
Wondering if there is any other recommended approach for this.

Masterdata infobject data changes report

Hi all,
i have a query regarding Infobject Data changes to be tracked through Technical content cubes.
we have many TC cubes in BI were we can track Infobjects last changes and so on .
Now req is that when anyone changes the Infobject Data it should be tracked in .
bec we dont have an standard Technical content Infobject(whcih tracks data chnges of Infobject) to include in the TC cubes .
So can u suggest me in this issue .

Hi, did you get this working? I'm really struggling to get up and running on 2008 R2, the CMS service just refuses to connect to the database. It also looks like the database wasn't created properly during the install. I set it up on an MSDE database, and when I look at it with sql management studio the database is there but there aren't any tables or anything else
Can anyone either confirm or deny that its possible to run Crystal XI on 2008 R2?
The error I'm getting when trying to start the service is:
The root server reported an error Initialization Failure. (Reason: Unable to connect to the database using the provided connection string. Reason: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data source name not found and no default driver specified).
I've confirmed that the ODBC connections work (both 32 bit and 64 bit) via the built in test, but Crystal for some reason isn't happy

Fiscal Year Change in MM failing with error message

Hi I am with a company that is using SAP R/3 ECC6 Modules SD MM FI CO with COPA (costing based) for reporting. Our fiscal year runs 1 August to 31 July. I am a FICO support analyst, currently also filling in for SDMM until we complete recruitment of a new person in that post.
In MM when trying to open the new period/close the old, we are getting the error message 'The specified year 2009 is not the current calendar year.' the detailed log says 'incorrect period in control record of CoCo. The current period (month/year is 112008)
I have:
1) Maintained our FYV in the IMG and it is set to year independent (tried making it year dependent but that didn't solve the problem)
2)Set the apppropriate periods with correct year shift and texts
3) Assigned the CoCode to the FYV
4) Checked that the proper variant for posting periods are set.
5) Set the Global parameters for the CoCode
Financial postings work fine and there seems to be no problem with the FYV there, and everything worked Ok last year (our first with SAP since Go Live).
I have searched the relevant sections in my SAP Press config manuals for FI and MM and done a search on Google but there must be something I am missing.
Can anyone suggest a solution, please.

Thanks anyway, Vijay, but OB52 is for changing Fiscal periods. That table is set correctly, the financial postings wouldn't be working if it wasn't.
I hadn't checked OMSY, Syed, thank you for that suggestion. There are no entries in any of the fields for Year or FYr. I am willing to make entries here to try it if there is a good reason but why would it have worked all through FY2008 without any entry in these fields but fail now in the new FY? The period change worked without problem for the past 12 months, isn't this the same as most SAP fields i.e. if you enter nothing then it is open for everything, in this case all years?
I am using MMPV to try to open the new period but it is there that I am getting the error messages.

Changing "server error" message name

Hello,
when I call a soap request and there is a mapping failiure or some invalid data entered by the user, the user gets a response back as "server error".
Can this "server error" be changed to something else and I can tell him "incorrect mapping/insufficient data" somehting like this?
I aint aware of anything like this can be done but wud b interested in knowing.

GR date lesser than the PO date, the system should show an error message.

Dear Gurus,
if anybody puts GR date lesser than the PO date, system should display error this happens because the system allows back dated posting of 101 MVT in MIGO.Similarly the IR date should not be less than the GR date. This happens because the system allows back dated posting of MIRO also.

Use the badi MB_DOCUMENT_BADI and compare dates of EKKO-BEDAT and MKPF-BLDAT for MIGO.
USe the badi IF_EX_MRM_INVOICE_UPDATE PROCESS_AT_ and compare the dates of MKPF-BLDAT and RBKP-BLDAT while saving the invoice for checking the back dated entries and throw an error message.

Change the calendar control's error message

I have a number of calendar controls which are used to pick dates, however they all have the ability to key the date in and if you enter an invalid format for the date value, they raise the "Conversion Error Occurred" error which displays on screen in the message box.
I want to replace this error with something more user friendly. I have tried adding messages to a bundle and defining the bundle in the app config, but it does not seem to work.
Anyone got any ideas how to do this?

i think it is actually a jsp validation message, but i can't figure out how to make it change

Bw report to show all error message from an infopackage

I am looking for a way to analyze within a BW reports (a specific one or already existing in a BI content) all errors messages generated by an infopackage and stored within the status field of a PSA. Does someone have any feedbacks or ideas on that?
