While recording in captivate 4 I get a pop at the beginning of each recording

While recording narration over a PP conversion in captivate 4 I get a pop at the beginning of each recording, It doesn't seem to matter if I use keyboard shortcut or the mouse. Any thoughts?

Welcome to our community
Is the unwanted bit part of the countdown?
If so, there are a couple of ways to avoid it.
1. Don't record your narration at the same time you record the actions. Record it separately. No narration means no countdown.
2. After the countdown stops, consider that first slide to be a throwaway and ensure you don't begin recording in earnest until after you hear the first camera shutter sound.

My assumption has been that iDVD would automatically find the free space and continue with the new recording from there. I'd be grateful if anyone can shine light on this.

There are, but not with a DVD written as a movie disk. It must be closed when completed, or it doesn't work.
Apple's built in Burn utility also automatically closes any data CD, DVD or Blu-ray disk you burn. Doesn't matter how much space is unused, you can't use it. You'd have to use a more advanced disk creation app, such as Toast Titanium. I then have the option of choosing to write the data as a session:
I can keep doing this until the disk is full. If I've written five sessions to the disk, when I put it in the drive, five CD/DVD icons will appear on the desktop since the OS will treat each session as if they are separate physical disks. At any point you choose Write Disk when writing a group of data, that means you're closing the disk, and again can't add anything after that. So if I had written two sessions, and the third was Write Disk, it's over. I can't put anything else on that disk.

Calculating the size of each record in a table?

Hi to all,
I trying to create histograms based on the unique record sizes in a particular table. However , in order to do that I need to calculate the size of each record in the table (in kilobytes preferably) and to get a list of unique record sizes.
Is there a function or easy way to calculate the size in Kbytes of a record in a table?

You can use the sum of the average of the vsizes of the fields in the table. For example:TEST.SQL>CREATE TABLE TEST

Audio gets cut off at the beginning of slides

I created a presentation with voice over narration, which is to be delivered via the internet. The problem I am having is that the first couple seconds of each slide narration often get clipped. I've tried many different approaches to fix this. One that has been marginally effective, but not 100%, is to leave a second or two of silence at the beginning of each slide. I have also tried all of the different preload settings and lowered the audio quality as well. I just wish there was a way to make each slide pause until enough of the audio track was transferred, then start playing. Has anyone else had this problem, or better yet had any success fixing it? If you have not upgraded to version 7 you should do that.
If you have upgraded to Version 7, be sure to do the updates to 7.0.5
Go to the Help menu and select 'About Adobe Presenter' to see what version, if it is 7.0, to 7.0.2 you need to update it
drop down the help menu again and you will see an 'update' option.
you need to install in order - 7.0.1, then 7.0.2 then 7.0.5 - you cannot install all at once
another thing you might want to do is open the file you are working on in 7.0.5 snd save it out with a new filename in a new location to combat that pesky problem of the 'media.ppcx' file disappearing....

I have done most of the utilities in ONYX, f.e. all points in the register "Aufräumen" in english I think it's called "clear up" and also I've done also "Optimize" -> "Reconstruction" -> "Launch services".
After done all of this items, my start up procedure is always the same (about 30 s).
Is it possible that some programs, which I have installed can take this effects ?
(f.e.: VMWare and Parallels)
Or do you have some other ideas, f.e. how can I find older programs, which I will not use anymore, and uninstall it.

Why's this sound at the beginning of my recording?

After I send a song to iTunes, there's always a faint drum/synth sound heard later in the song that shows up at the very beginning of the track when it's not supposed to be there. Why is this? Is it because I haven't selected the loop and set the duration?

This may be a manifestation of a lingering bug in the audio engine that caches a reverb tail from the last play. If it's what I'm thinking of, a workaround would be to select all the tracks of your song, and move them all forward, in sync, about a measure or two. Looking at your tracks, it will appear as if the beginning of the song is now at measure 2 or 3 instead of 1. That way, there will be a moment of silence at the very beginning of the song (that clears out the cache), but then everything will start normally and play to the end, and it will get rid of the ghost echo at the beginning.

URGENT! I cannot find the beginning of my recording

I recorded an interview under voice and I had to stop the recording at 55 minutes and then start it again about 20 minutes later. I saved it and put my laptop on sleep after the first half. Now I cannot find the very beginning of my interview. All I can see is the second half of my interview which was 31 minutes and the second part of the first half of my interview. Did GB delete it? How do I find the very beginning of my recording?

How do I prevent from recording on top of the first part of my interview? Can I add a new track within the same folder as the first part of my interview and continue to record the interview where I left off and not record over the first track?
That is, what I am doing - I always create a second track for the next take. Then I can give the tracks different names.
Perhaps you had the cycle region enabled? Thenn the recording will begin at the beginneing of the region. Usually the recording should start at the current position of the crosshair.

When my MAC has been in sleep mode for a while and you try and get it started again the mouse makes a splotchy movement across the screen and i have to reboot

When my MAC has been asleep for awhile and I move the mouse it makes this digitized blob run across the screen and erases all below it. The only way I have found to get it to quit is restart the computer. Does anyone know what is making it do this?

okay, you know this is for the Mac pro (desktop mac) rather than the MacBook pro, right? That being said, sounds like you have a problem. Turn off your screensaver, if it's on. if it's a hardware problem, eg the GPU, then take it in. If it's software, try running disk Utility and repair permissions. Failing that, get out your original install dvd's, boot up from them, and try "Archive and Install"

CR+LF Code at the end of each record selected in sql cursor

i am selecting some data records in a sql cursor and writing it into a file using UTL_FILE.puT in a plsql procedure.
at the end of select statement if i add ||chr(13||chr(10) iam getting CR+CR+LF code
if i add only || chr(10) i am getting LF code.
What i need is only CR+LF code. Kindly help to use any other commands.

Is there a way to get iCal to put the time of each event on Monthly view without going in and editing each event?

When I enter a new event on iCal with the time, it leaves the time off of the Monthly view and in order for me to glance at the times of the day's events I have to click on each event or go into the event and edit it again putting the time on, for it to show. Is there a way to get it to show without doing this?

Try reset iPad (not Restore)
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

Getting garbage characters at the begining of xml

Hi Experts,
I am using file adapter to pick XML file. Using TEXT mode & encoding "ISO-8859-1" as it has some special characters.
But when file is picked by PI in moni XML payload contain some garbage characters at the begining of the XML declaration.
This characters is making file as invalid.
But if I open the origional file then it is not showing the characters.
Could u please help me how to remove this garbage characters frm XML file beginning.

In the far upper right of the Actions panel is a small menu icon. That includes the option for the menu-based route to turning the hidden characters on and off in case it ever happens again and you can't find this posting to help recall it.

How to genarate Primary Key for each record in XI Mapping

I need to genarate primary key for each record in the paylod in mapping..
Eg: if i have a 10 reacords i need to have a primary key for each record..starting with the
Record      Primary key
First            001
Secound      002
Tenth         010
If i need to write any user defined funtion... can any one provide the code for it.

like above i will be getting n number of recored and in each record i need to genarate primary key in XI.and the key sould be in sequence...
like for the first record 1 secound 2 like that primary key should add to the privous Primary key.
and this is for each payload.
