While trying to convert pdf to word--keep getting message "an error occurred while trying to access the service" Could I get some help please?
Could I get some help with this?
Hi Shelly,
Are you trying to log in to ExportPDF from Reader? If so, please make sure that you have the most current version by choosing Help > Check for Updates in Reader. You should be using version 11.0.07 (Mac OS) or 11.0.08 (Windows)--earlier versions caused this sign-in error that you're seeing.
Let us know how it goes!
Best,
Sara

have been using convertor form more than a year now to convert pdf to word documents
have started to get message 'an error occurred while signing in'
Help please ??This email is in response to support case #0185407323 submitted by Lowell Peterson.
I keep submitting the same problem and keep getting exactly the same response, which is not helpful. My problem is this: for over a year I have been converting .pdf documents to Word by clicking on Tools with a .pdf document open in Adobe Reader, then clicking on Convert. After a brief waiting signal, I am told to download and save the document. Perfect. But recently, every time I try to do exactly the same thing I get the message that says, "An error occurred while signing in."
I have followed this advice multiple times:
Do you get that error when you try to convert a file from within Reader? If so, please try this:
Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Adobe Reader > Preferences (Mac OS).
Click Adobe Online Services on the left side.
Sign out of our Adobe ID and sign back in.
Try to convert your document again.
THIS PROCESS DOESN'T CHANGE ANYTHING. I JUST KEEP ON GETTING THE ERROR MESSAGE.
If you continue to have trouble, please verify that you can access the service via the web interface. To do this:
Open a browser and navigate to http://exportpdf.acrobat.com/signin.html
Try to log in with your Adobe ID (email address) and password.
Once logged in, follow the on-screen prompts to convert a file.
THIS WORKS, BUT WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THESE STEPS WHEN I AM ALREADY IN A .PDF DOCUMENT WITH A "TOOLS" PANEL TELLING ME I CAN DO IT FROM THERE. PLUS, THIS MAY BE MY STUPIDITY, BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO "SAVE" THIS LINK, SO EVERY TIME I WANT TO CONVERT A DOCUMENT, I HAVE TO LOOK UP THIS ADVICE, THEN FOLLOW ALL THE STEPS. IT WAS A GREAT DEAL SIMPLER AND LESS TIME CONFUSING WHEN I COULD JUST DO IT FROM "TOOLS."
Any idea what the problem is~?? -

Hi bert090909,
Are you trying to convert your files from within Adobe Reader? If so, please make sure that you have the most current version by choosing Help > Check for Updates. Earlier versions of Reader could cause the specific error that you're reporting.
Please let us know how it goes.

I'm trying to convert a pdf file to word and I continue to get the message "An error occurred while signing in". I believe I'm properly signed in, I can see my account, etc. Any suggestions?
Hi tkam,
It sounds as though you just need to install the latest Reader update. Please choose Help > Check for Updates in Reader and install the latest update. An update to Reader 11.0.07 resolves this sign-in issue.
Let us know how it goes!

Hi tkam,
I think I may have just the answer you're looking for. If you're converting from within Adobe Reader, please choose Help > Check for Updates and install any available updates. This error was resolved in the most recent Reader update. (You can also try signing in directly via the ExportPDF website at https://cloud.acrobat.com/exportpdf.)
Please let us know how it goes.

I am using Adobe Reader with paid up service through May 2015. When I attempt to convert a file either to PDF or from PDF, I get the error message, "An error occurred while trying to access the service". What do I need to do to get access to the service I have paid for?
Hi DeaconTomColorado,
Please see "Error occurred when trying to access this service" when logging on to Acrobat.com.
Adobe has just released an update to Adobe Reader, so if you're accessing the service via Reader, please let us know whether the update helps resolve the issue.

Hi, am trying to convert pdf into word. I have 30 days trial, however, everytime i try to convert it's asking to subscribe, Why is that, what is the purpose of the free trial?
Hi oj1,
Since you mention a free trial, I'm guessing that you have an Acrobat trial (Adobe doesn't offer free trials of the Acrobat.com online services).
If you do have Acrobat, you can use the Save As command in that application to save directly to Word format.
Please let us know how it goes.

I receive an error when trying to convert PDF to word. Can someone advise on how to resolve?
"an error" really doesn't tell us much.
Assuming that you use the ExportPDF online service, I suggest that you Contact Customer Care - click on the Still need help? button to chat or talk with an agent.

Trying to convert pdf to word. A msg box is open on the right side of the screen that says, "retrieving current session status..." It's frozen. What can I do? Thanks.
Hi Dewey,
Are you trying to convert via Adobe Reader? If so, are you able to close and restart Reader (you may need to force quit, or use Task Manager to quit Reader if it's truly frozen)? After restarting, choose Help > Check for Updates to make sure that you have the most current version.
And, if updating Reader doesn't help (or you already have the most current version), please try converting that same file using the ExportPDF web interface at https://cloud.acrobat.com.
Please let us know how it goes.
Thanks!

When I attempt to convert a file, either to PDF or from PDF I receive the error message "An error occurred while trying to access the service" what can I do to resolve? I already applied updates and attempted to fix?
You could always sign into Acrobat.com directly and use the service through the web site if it's a critical need.
