Internet Explorer Script Error when running report with user-entered params
We are using Crystal Reports Version 11.0.0.1282. We have multiple copies each installed on a separate computer. We have a relatively simple report with a prompt for 2 values (parameters) to be selected or input by the users. The desktop is either Windows XP SP3 or Windows Server 2003 SP2 On all the XP/SP3 computers, this report works as expected. On the exception computer, the Windows Server2003 Desktop, we see the prompting screen with place holders for graphics instead of the buttons. When we attempt to select a value for the parameter by keying in the value and clicking on the OK link (no button), we see message box titled "Internet Explorer Script Error" with text: An error has occurred in the script on this page.
Line: xxx (varies depending on param chosen)
char 1
error: Object expected
url: file:///c:/doc...../temp/1/prompting1.html
===============================
Searhing around the forum and using Google, I found a suggestion to be copying the "prompting" folder and dll from a known working system - tried this, it didn't work.
So. I still need a solution. Any other suggestions??

If I create the report without asking for user-entered params, it works.
>> Can you please specify the browser and the tool to display the report you are using? Generally the
>> error popps up when there are any mistakes in html or if you are using a javascript which has a error.
The active browser on the computer is IE7 - 7.0.5730.13
I am using the installed crystal reports 11 program to run the report. I open the report in CR by going to File/Open and selecting the report. Then I get prompted for my ms sql login info, which I enter. Then I see the "Enter Values" window with my data entry fields; but I don't see the nice formatting and buttons which I see when I run this from the other computers; I see only the placeholders. I select or enter data and click on the "OK" link. Then the message box pops up. The message box pops up when I click on any of the links or on the "x" in the upper right. Mesage box is explicit - Intenet Explorer Script Error, etc., as I described in my original post.

Internet Explorer script error in my windows application
Hello, I'm developing a windows application with VS 2008 (C#), SQL Server 2005 and Crystal Reports 2008. I have installed in my developer computer CR 2008, but in server computer, CR2008 Runtime.
Everything is OK by now, but when I push Print button to show the report, I hace an error, Internet Explorer script error. There are three errors, '_pe' is not denined, an object unexpected, and '_units' is not defined. Then, I seeparameters window without styles and doesn't work.
I think, these window is an html page, for windows and web apps, but... where's the matter?? I don't think about my developed code, I think.... I don't know what can I think... hahaha
thanks.Hi,
VS 2008 is only compatible with CR 10.5 (Bundle version which comes with VS) ,CR 2008 SP0 and SP1.
Give it a try downloading the Service Packs and Runtimes from the Link given below and then try running your application.But remove/uninstall all the pre installed Crystal Reports versions before installing the new one.

My Windows XP failed to install Adobe Reader XI Int Explorer script error?
On my Windows XP, I failed to install Adobe Reader XI because of Internet Explorer script error - how can I overcome this?
You can try using this tool to first remove all traces of Reader:
http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html
Then, you may download the full offline Reader installer for the version you want from
http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/
After downloading, restart your computer and run the installer before doing anything else. -
hey everyone.. i have a problem with my 3Gs iphone.. i updated to the ios5 and now when i open it says that i have to connect it with the itunes. when i connect it says that has an error 28 something like that.. can anyone help me to fix it?? Regards
Error 23, 28, 29: These errors may indicate a hardware issue with your device. Follow the steps in this article. Also attempt to restore while connected with the white USB Dock Connector cable that shipped with your device, on a known good computer and network to isolate this issue to the device. The MAC address being missing or the IMEI being the default value, (00 499901 064000 0), can also confirm a hardware issue. Out-of-date or incorrectly configured security software can also cause these errors.

Message to use a new version of IE
There is a problem with IE10+ in that it is mistakenly seen as being IE1. To get around this either use a different browser or use compatibility view (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-10) -
i cant open many website with firefox, there say filter not let open this site, but when i open they with internet explorer not have any problem.
Could you post an example of the filter message?
This article has more information on the filters built in to Firefox: [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/phishing-protection/ Firefox Phishing and Malware Protection].
It's possible that you also have a Firefox add-on, or external software, that is filtering what you see. However, we don't have enough information to help identify it yet. If you want to review a list of your add-ons, you can find them under: Help > Troubleshooting Information. -

Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.<br>
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.<br>
All these programs have free versions.
Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Ok so everything is messed up! Not happy. I have some kinda antivirus trying to make me buy there stuff. But thats not all its locked up my computer from downloading anything or updating. Its call Antivirus Scan!!!!! If I try and open Internet Explore it locks it up and says "Internet Explorer Warning - visiting this web site may harm your computer!" and I have a window that keeps popping up saying "Application cannot be executed. The file wuauclt.exe is infected.
Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?' Please Please help me out.It sounds like one of the bogus anti-virus applications that gets you to install malware. Try running several malware scanners. It is best to run several as each will pick up things that the others miss. Some scanners you can try are:
* [http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Malwarebytes]
* [http://www.superantispyware.com/ SUPERAntiSpyware]
* [http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php Ad-Aware]

* [http://www.safer-networking.org/en/home/index.html Spybot S&D]
If the above malware scanners do not find any malware or can not clear it, you should consider posting in one of these forums for specialized malware removal help:

Thick line in questionbox when opening the form in internet explore
When I open my form in firefox, everything appears correctly but when I open it in internet explore there are some thick lines in 2 questionboxes. How can i change this? I don´t see these lines when I create my form.
To add a screenshot to the forum you actually need to login to the forum from your browser and do this directly in on the forum site. Click here http://forums.adobe.com/message/5625059 to go to this post (i.e you can't just reply from your email client with an image).
I opened your form in IE and I don't see the thick lines that you are talking about. Can you try to add a screenshot again (from the forum website this time). Also what version of Internet Explorer are you using?

Does anyone know, how to fix ' This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the applikcation vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." ?
At what point in the process are you getting this message? Have you tried downloading a fresh copy of the iTunes setup file from http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/ ?
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Adobe & Internet Explorer crashing when opening pdf within an Internet Explorer window
Hello,
Can anyone help me with this issue or maybe point me in the right direction? Thank you!
Working with in a ASP that uses reader to display forms. The form opens as an embedded adobe form in a new Internet Explorer window. Once the form opens it pulls data from the ASP. At times when the form opens in the new window both the Internet Explorer windows close. Other times a "user request stop" error appears and once OK is pressed both windows close. The ASP does not know what causes this & can not seem to replicate the problem. ASP is on the other side of the country.
Would the acrotray.exe be causing this?
