ive tried new VGA cables, different monitor and neither worked.
When I watch a 1080p video on VLC its fine. Its when I run a game such as DOta or CS:GO that the problem emerges.
What should I do.

You can try resetting SMC but:
> the internal screen turns white and large dark vertic lines appear but the external monitor is fine<
this is most like LVDS cable that runs from the computer body to the display.
Can you affect the fault by moving the display (open and close)?

  • White flex lines appear automatically

When Flexing in logic 9 sometimes white flex lines appear over all the recorded audio, this isn't quantised and the audio hasn't moved, but logic puts the little white flex lines all over the whole of the tracked audio.
This wouldn't be a problem generally, when this has happened in the past I simply use the erase tool and clear the lines so I can quantise or manually flex as needed however on a recent session Logic has for some reason applied these little white lines to every take on a session where I tracked drums on 9 tracks, this has made the session run painfully slow and even trying to manually erase these flex lines is taking too long.
It appears to happen more often when I group tracks and phase lock audio, has anybody had similar issues? is there a simple fix I'm overlooking?
    Thanks

I have the exact same problem, right after I updated to 3.1.3. I think this is a bug. Anyone else have the same problem, and if so have you found a fix for it?

  • Thin dark line appearing on site when viewed on the ipad and iphone iso 7

When viewed on the iPad my site shows a thin vertical dark gray/black line at the edge of a div.container. It use to appear all the way around the div but I took care of that with height: 100%. When zoomed in 500% it disappears. I've found it can be eliminated by configuring the viewport for mobile and tablet devices. The problem is if I do that my horizontal scroll stops working. I've also tried my best with the suggestion from other websites to use a -3px margin and 3px transparent border. Any help here? Is this the right forum for this kind of question? Why did this begin to happen after iOS 7?? Any chance Apple will correct something like this? I don't appear to be the only person with this problem. Any help would be kind. Cheers!

  • White line appears on macbook pro retina

When i minimized windows the white thin line appears on the screen. The line disappear right away.
This is a big concern for me because my macbook pro retina 13' is still pretty new.
How can i solve this problem ?
I got my macbook late Sept 2013.

Take a picture of the phenomenon and then make an appointment at an Apple store genius bar.  Presumably your MBP is still in the warranty period and have the technicians evaluate and fix the problem.  Use the picture as evidence so they fully understand what the problem is.

  • Glowing black screen during charging? White vertical lines

    Hello all,
Last week i updated my pb to os 2.1 and everything went well. But now I am facing another problem. Sometimes (not always ) when I charge my pb (completely turn off) then the black screen starts glowing during charging and it keeps on glowing throughout the charging period and my pb becomes very hot. And when I turn on my pb after this then white vertical lines appear on the half portion of the screen. The screen also develops white patches but these patches and lines disappear after 5 minutes of usage.
So why is it happening? Is there any problem with my pb? Help someone
    Thanks

  • CM1312nfi: white vertical lines out of nowhere

I've been using this printer happily for the past few months without a single problem. I use this printer mainly to print full page full color images on special glossy paper that requires a higher fuser temparature so I had set up one of the paper types to use a higher fuser temperature. Quality has always been incredibly good but that ended abruptly today.
Today I printed another full page, full color image but noticed a small vertical white line at the top. It was about an inch long and my guess was it was about a single dot wide - like something scratched the print. So I printed the same image again. This time, the whole print was filled with these "scratches", most running from top to bottom and all not wider than a single dot. As these "scratches" were visible on all colors, it isn't something like a failing toner cartridge.
When I print on normal paper, I don't see these lines but since the print quality is much lower on normal paper, they might be there but perhaps I simply don't see them.
I've spent 2 hours on the phone with HP support (@ 5ct/min) but they just tell you to do the standard things, like print a Configuration Report, do a few calibrations, clean a few times, etc. In the end I was no further except that I wasted about 50 sheets of that special paper (@$1.50 per sheet!).
Since then, I've printed a few more times and although there are now less scratches than before, it's still there. If I look at the print, I have the feeling it uses less toner than normally. Also, if I print two copies of the same print, the second copy is usually a lot better than the first print (probably because the fuser has a higer temperature with the second print).
Here is a (close up) scan of a print-out with the problem:
    http://www.whutever.com/privateimages/HPLines.jpg
What could be the problem? Failing fuser? Dust? Something else?
Edit: Wanted to add that the white vertical lines appear in different places each print.

  • Dark line across white menu bar space

Something really weird just happened. Across the white menu bar (where it lists Finder and shows the clock, etc) there is now a somewhat faint black line. it's a few cm thick, and looks a little blurred. This is what happened prior to the line appearing:
I was downloading the latest update to Quicktime
I was trying to transfer a song from my iTunes library, as well as a video, to my iDisk.
I was adjusting the brightness of the screen.
The iDisk locked up... it said there was 5 secs. left of the transfer. Also, the updater said I had to restart the computer. I did this, but when I restarted the screen was really dark. I was playing with the adjuster, and the screen went black. I restarted again, and the brightness was ok... I still had to adjust it to make it lighter.
Now everything seems to be working ok (except my iTunes music file and video say they are in use by OSX and cannot be opened... I just deleted them)
but I have this crazy line across the top of the screen.
    Please help?

Hey, thanks everyone. I am running Tiger on my iBook... I have Panther still on my iMac, but will probably upgrade sooner.
I am at work now (using Tiger as well) and notice the line here, too. I guess I just didn't notice it on the iBook until I had the little issue with the display brightness.
The line really doesn't make the bar look 3D, just sort of dirty. Oh well.
Thanks so much for the reassurance!!

  • I bought a macbook pro retina ME665 in Dubai, and 3 month later its display stopped working properly.some white lines appeared on it and display itself became white and black. Can anybody suggest what should I do to fix this problem?

  • White lines appear on videos since my new Mac Pro - Why?

    Hello,
    I'm the happy owner of a Mac Pro 2,7 GHz 12-Core Intel Xeon E5 / 64 gig RAM / 2X AMD FirePro D700 6144 Mo running on OS X 10.9.3 (13D65).
I'm using CC latest version but also Red Giant Magic Bullet LOOKS to color grade my videos (on an adjustment layer). I have 3 HDD (1 SSD in the computer with the programs + 1 external (Thunderbold) G-RAID for cache files + 1 external Pegasus R6 2 (Thunderbolt 2) for the footage).
Sometimes, when reading (but more often when exporting in Media Encoder) white lines appear on the video (see image below). Why?
Is that a Premiere problem? Is something going wrong with my Mac? I have already reinstalled everything from scratch but the problem remains...
I was working with the same programs on my previous iMac and I didn't have this problem.
    Any idea ?

Is it an Adobe or a Mac Pro 2013 related problem? Does everyone using the GPU acceleration have the same problem?
So far, it appears to be an issue with OS X 10.9.2 and up.  Some folks that are beta testing 10.9.4 have reported that the strange artifacts no longer appear while using Hardware mode, but a few folks are still having Premiere crashes with it.  My suspicion is that we're seeing two separate problems with Premiere on the new Mac Pro when using Hardware mode: 1) artifacts, lines, etc on exports and 2) application crashes.  Neither of these appear to happen when Pr and AME are put into Software mode.  Given the commonality of the problems (using GPUs on the new Mac Pro) some folks seem to think they're directly related.  My gut tells me they aren't.
The challenge for the folks at Adobe and other third party app developers is that the boys (and girls) in Cupertino are changing things within OS X a bit too quickly, for better, for worse.  Some of these changes are what I call "ninja patches" where they don't really explain what they're changing or why.  I strongly suspect that's what's going on here.  They sneaked something into OS X 10.9.2 and haven't un-sneaked it yet.  Folks are strongly encouraging Adobe to address this issue pronto, but if Cupertino keeps altering the guts of the OS, how can they?

  • Why are white lines appearing in images in PDF files but not the original InDesign files?

    Hi folks!
Let me just start out by saying that I'm not a graphic designer and have basically no experience with graphic design programs, aside from the little futzing around I've tried to do with InDesign. My company (which publishes a monthly magazine) has decided that it would be a great idea to get the files to our magazine from the graphic design firm that actually handles the production end of things so that we may offer back articles, etc., and modify them as needed. Somehow I've gotten assigned the task of handling this. However, I've encountered some problems along the way. The graphic design firm uses Quark, we own InDesign (CS3) and use Markzware to convert the files. Most things seem to work okay in this arrangement but I'm having problems with the images in the file when I create PDFs. Although the images look fine in the InDesign files (and are of print quality), when I create PDFs of some files, thin white lines appear over the images in the PDF document. I asked our graphic designer about this but she has no idea, and she isn't very familiar with InDesign.
So, my question is, where are these lines coming from and how do I stop them from appearing? As a reminder, I'm not a graphic designer and am fdairly ignorant in design software terminology. If you're kind enough to try to help me with this problem, I'm going to require an explanation in plain English. Basically explain it to me like you would to a 10 year old.
If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it!
    Thanks in advance,
    Lynn

I think Bob was typing too fast and meant to ask if you were distilling, not to tell you distill.
Distilled PDF (you get distilled by printing to PDF rather than exporting) always flattens transparency, which is what makes those white "stitching" lines.
You can make the stitching disappear on screen by turning off smoothing in the Acrobat prefs, and it shouldn't print on a press, but it sounds like you may be doing the output on a digital machine and it's likely to show on the lower resolution output.

  • White lines appear on OAM placed in InDesign

Hello. This is my first post in the forums.
I've just placed my first OAM file into an InDesign folio. The initial/downstage image views great in both Edge Animate and InDesign but once the folio is uploaded and viewed on a tablet device horizontal white lines appear. Has anyone experienced this behavior with OAM files and tablets? I've seen postings about white lines appearing in PDFs but not folios. Any ideas how to fix this issue?
    Thanks!
    _melissa

    >The lines did not appear on any of the printed images,
Although it is odd that three computers exhibit the same problem, and unless you can provide other coincidences (same files, same monitor, etc.), I agree. The video card is typically the culprit IF the image anomalies don't print and if they move about with each image resizing or opening of a specific image. Check to see if it's properly seated and connected. Same for monitor cable. Try swapping in another card.
One other thought: as this is a CRT monitor, what happens if you change the resolution and refresh rate? Are you using a recommended combination for that monitor?
