Whole number field formatted as timezone in CRM 2013 SP1UR1 gives error on saving

Hi,
I added a whole number field formatted  as time zone to the appointment form and when I save the record I get an error saying
Crm Exception: Message: An unexpected error occurred., ErrorCode: -2147220970, InnerException: System.InvalidCastException: Unable to cast object of type 'Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.OptionSetValue' to type 'System.IConvertible'.
This error is coming from the timezone field and only happens when I have data in the field. Has anyone seen this?
Thanks

More info, the error occurs on pipeline stage 30 of the Book or Reschedule message and the same thing happens in CRM 2015. I've started a thread on connect with URL
https://connect.microsoft.com/dynamicssuggestions/feedback/details/1128206/crm-2013-sp1ur1-cant-handle-the-timezone-field
This must be rather new because I've tried it in CRM 2011 UR late and it did not occur there, I haven't tried CRM 2013 RTM though so I can't say if it's a CRM 2013 or a CRM 2013 SP1UR1 issue.
BTW, the 2015 org was a complete vanilla so I've pretty much ruled out custom code as a culprit :)

  • CRM 2013 Outlook client error

    Hi
    We have a test install of CRM 2013 which is working correctly on the server. Logon via the web is ok.
    A user was setup to access through the outlook client in office13 running on a win7 platform which also worked correctly. The same user also has secondary access through the outlook client in office 13 running on a win8.1 platform. This never worked correctly
    and would show credential errors.
    Recently the win7 platform has also disconnected and shows connection errors.
    I have tried the following on the win 7 platform:
    1. Uninstall the client and reinstall from scratch - unsuccessful
    2. Run through the steps in the built in trouble shooter - unsuccessful
    Logon using the same creds via the web on the same machine is ok!
    What are the next steps to rectify this problem?
    Thanks in advance!

  • Number field - Format mask and validation

    APEX 4.2.1
    When a page item with source=DB column uses a Number type and a currency format mask (FML999G etc), when the page is rendered, it properly formats the number.
    The built-in Item is numeric validation appears to be handle this reasonably ok. i.e. both formatted values and only-digits both validate ok.
    But any after-submit validations choke on the non-numeric characters in the field! Please don't tell me I have to a) create shadow items and/or b) replace() out the non-numeric characters in the validation.
    After so many years and versions, why doesn't APEX have a simple, declarative, elegant solution to handle such a basic function?
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks

    As described in the item help
    "Select or enter a format mask. Note that format mask is applicable only to items of source type Database Column."
    In my experience, and this goes for the great web experience, not just the application you're designing - I've found the most data entry fields avoid formatting.
    Relevant information is often shown item labels.
    Any occasional the business has specifically asked for formatting, I've taken the same approach as I've needed to for years - before web development (and every time you use the to_date/to_char functions for date conversions) - validate the information as per expectation. If you think the user will be adding punctuation to a numeric field, then you must validate accordingly.
    This usually means adding TO_CHAR(value_entered, expected_format_mask) to your validation control, instead of presuming APEX will read the user's mind and know the content of that numeric field may not be numeric.
    Date entry does the same thing - ultimately there is a session date format that is implicitly used by Oracle to convert an entry of 12-10-2012 to the appropriate date -- ie, is it October or December?
    Have a think about the various websites you visit personally - plane bookings, concerts, ebay, etc - how many expect entry to be purely numeric? My recollection is most, except maybe some credit card fields, but most use some sort of regular expression to sort that out. And you can tell the validation is coded respectively.
    Generally, I reserve this sort of primping to reporting - even then it's made to be subtle - just like I'd prefer makeup to be ;-)
    Most users just care about the data, not how it looks.

  • Freeze Invoice Number Field

    Hello
    How to freeze the INVOICE NUMBER field after entering a value in it but BEFORE it is SAVED.?
    thanks.
    emgee

    Hi Emgee,
    I believe this is spin off issue from Automatic Numbering thread.
    In the same personalization you have done for Invoice number add another action to Freeze the Invoice number:
    Select the field in the Item LOV and select Disable as TRUE.

  • % formating if a whole number is inputted

    Hello:
    I have a numeric field on my form. I clicked on the field, went to the "Cell" tab clicked on "Patterns" and in the "Display" tab set my pattern to " num.percent{} "
    My problem is that my user wants it to display 10% when they key in "10" (whole number) currently keying in "10" displays 1,000%.
    So far the only way to display 10% is by keying in ".10". I understand why .10 gives me 10% but the behavior of the users will be to key in a whole number.
    What is the best way to solve?
    Thanks,
    Keith.

    That worked perfectly in fact I ended adding to it num{99.99'%'} to display less than 1 percent values.
    I do have another quick question. In another field where I have dates. I have the following setting in the display pattern:
    date{MM/DD/YYYY}
    My issues is that it will only format/display if I click the calendar pop up and select a particular day. That is to say if I was to input the date manually like 06262008 or 6262008 it would display the number like I just inputted not in the display pattern that I had set (06/26/2008)
    Any more ideas how to solve?
    And thanks very much :-)
    Keith.

  • Need to see previous account number field in CRM

    Hi Specialist's,
    As part of our implementation project
    There is a field in SAP r/3 ( Customer Master Data Tcode:Xd03) on Company Code Tab called Previous Account Number field ALTKN, table KNB1( Company Code Data ).
    We need this information to go to CRM system.
    I checked the field in table BUT000 in CRM but could not find any field containing this information.
    Can someone let us know how can we see this information in CRM.
    Also it would be helpful if you can tell under which screen,table and field can i get this information in CRM system.
    Useful answers will definitely be rewarded with points .
    Thanks,
    Abhinav.

    Dear RVI,
    when You run the report then You can add by ALV the following two field that are hidden:
    G/L Account     22     10
    G/L Account     23     10
    The first refers:
    General Ledger Account HKONT
        This field contains the number of the G/L account to which the
        transaction figures are updated.
    The second refers:
    G/L Account Number SAKNR
         The G/L account number identifies the G/L account in a chart of
         accounts.
    I hope this helps.

  • Web app Number field: How to format a number as currency in Business catalyst

    Not a coder. I have a Number field I have created in my web app, please how can I format this field to display the figures like this 999,999,999,999 (#120,000,000) random figure. Help will be appreciated.

    You can't. Number type field is there for storing integers. 999,999,999,999
    is not an integer. You need to use text string. Unless you're using the
    field inside the search form, in which case you need to use JavaScript to
    format the content of the field on the frontend.
    Cheers,
    Mario

  • Exporting to CSV, a number field is changing format

    Exporting to CSV, a number field is changing formats.  I have it excluding the decimals places and commas.
    Can anyone help?  I am using version 10.

    Post Author: V361
    CA Forum: Exporting
    If you are exporting to Excel, it may be Excel that is changing the number format.
    you could totext , but then Excel will treat it as text and not as a number.
    May not be what you want.

  • PDF Forms: problem with keypad "decimal dot" when filling "number" fields

    Ok, here's my problem :
    I've created a form with fields. My client want to input in those fields amount of money. So I've created fields formatted with the "Number" category. 2 decimals, "1234,56" separator style, not currency symbol. So far, so good!
    When testing out the form, here's what happening :
    On the computer that I've created the form (iMac, Acrobat Pro and Reader, french canadian keyboard layout and system)
    Using the keypad, I can input numbers, with the "decimal point" from the keypad no problem.
    But when the client is trying to to the same on his PC (and the same is happening with my PC at home, Acrobat Pro 9.2, french canadian keyboard layout and system), I CAN'T use the "decimal point" keypad key to input numbers (like 43,25). It's just not working (error sound). I can however use the "dot" on the keyboard near the "M" key, but the client don't want to do that.
    Why is it working on the Mac, but not on the PC's!?
    So far, the only workaround that I've found is to set the "money" fields categories to "none" instead of "number.

    It is a little bit tricky, but you might have to add your own formatting handler. You would proceed as follows:
    1. Set the Format to "none".
    2. Add the following script to a Custom Keystroke event:
    if (event.change.length > 0 && event.willCommit == false) {event.change = event.change.replace(/\,/gim, ".") ;
    3. Add the following script to a Custom Format event:
    event.value = event.value.toString().replace(/\./gim, ",") ;
    And that should take care of the situation.
    Note that i have not tested the scripts, and there may be a chance for bugs.
    The advantage of this solution is that internally, you will have the correct format for a number, so that calculations will be correct.
    Hope this can help.

  • Right alignment of Number Field in OAF Page

    Hi,
    I need to right align the column of the table which is of number type in OAF page. I have extended the VO of that page to add new columns. After VO extension i added the column to the page via personalization and gave the reference of view attribute name as per Extened VO. I have set the following properties for that column
    Item Sytle- Message Style Text
    Data Type- Number
    Nowrap=false
    Vertical Alignment=Middle
    View Attribute = Prior (same as Extended VO's column)
    View Instance = XXPayEmpAccrualActionInfoVO
    I need to set the value of this newly added column right align which is currently set as left align by default.
    I have tried the following links from OTN
    Re: Q: How to format number using personalization?
    Right align number field
    but while controller extension i m getting the following error-
    Message not found. Application: FND, Message Name: FND_VIEWOBJECT_NOT_FOUND. Tokens: VONAME = XXPayEmpAccrualActionInfoVO; APPLICATION_MODULE = oracle.apps.pay.selfservice.payslip.US.server.PayPayslipAM;
    The extended controller code is -

    super.processRequest(pageContext, webBean);
    OATableBean tableBean = (OATableBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("PayPayslip4Ss");
    tableBean.queryData(pageContext, true);
    tableBean.prepareForRendering(pageContext);
    DataObjectList aColFormat01 = tableBean.getColumnFormats() ;
    oracle.cabo.ui.data.DictionaryData ColFormat01 =(oracle.cabo.ui.data.DictionaryData)aColFormat01.getItem(pageContext.findChildIndex(tableBean, "Prior"));
    ColFormat01.put(COLUMN_DATA_FORMAT_KEY,NUMBER_FORMAT);
    Please can anyone provide me some pointer here..this is really urgent.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Renu,
    Use the following code:
    OAMessageStyledTextBean origContSumBean = (OAMessageStyledTextBean)webBean.findIndexedChildRecursive("<FieldName>");
    if(origContSumBean!=null) {
    origContSumBean.setAttributeValue(CURRENCY_CODE,new OADataBoundValueViewObject(origContSumBean,"CurrencyCode"));
    Here CurrencyCode should be a view attribute in the VO associated to the items in the region.

  • Date Field Formatting

    Hi All,
    I'm back already! Learning Flash is beginning to get to me
    again so I returned for yet more help!
    I've written the following AS code to get tomorrow's date . .
    // Calculates today's date and tomorrow's date
    var dToday:Date = new Date();
    dToday.getDate()
    trace("today: " + dToday) //today's date
    myD = dToday.getDate() + 100; // plus one day
    var dTomorrow:Date = new Date();
    dTomorrow.setDate(myD)
    trace("new: " + dTomorrow) //tomorrow's date
    var strDate:String = new String();
    var strDate = String(dTomorrow);
    trace("String: " + strDate);
    The strDate string returns the following value . . . "Tue Jul
    11 16:19:57 GMT+0100 2006".
    That is all well and good but I want to convert it into the
    following format for comparison with another field . . .
    "200607111619" which is basically the same value in the following
    format . . . "yyyymmddhhmm".
    Does the only way of doing this involve using parsing logic
    to break down the original string and then reconstruct it in the
    required format using variables from the broken down original
    string?
    I have tried looking at the Date Field object notes in my
    book but it does not give me anything as regards this programming
    requirement. The only thing I can find that might suit this purpose
    is string parsing logic. Am I right or is there an easier way to
    set a date field format?
    Any help would as always be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Kevin.

    I'm working on an application which requires a valid Voucher
    Number to proceed. The Voucher number is based on a combination of
    'date/time/no of items' (e.g. 20060711095802 which is today at
    09:58 (on a 24 hr clock) for 2 (02) items).
    As this date this date/time Voucher Number logic is
    essentially sequential, in that each subsequent Voucher Number will
    be greater than the last good known Voucher Number entered into the
    application (which is already stored in a variable field for
    comparison). But it must also be less than tomorrow's date, for
    which the Voucher Number would always be tomorrow's date (e.g.
    20060712 at 00:00 hrs for 00 items, thus giving 20060712000000).
    This is the value that I'm trying to ascertain from the date field
    logic.
    It would thus be really handy for comparison if I could just
    format tomorrow's date and time in the format yyyymmddhhmm and just
    add '00' to the end of the string.
    I don't like the idea of using the milliseconds value as it
    will be necessary then to convert the Voucher Number entered to a
    date field for comparison.

  • Date and number display format

    Hello all,
    I am new to Adobe Form, and I am quite unimpressed with how difficult it is to do the most simple things.
    I have managed one way or another to solve all my problems until now, but this one got me stuck.
    I have date and number fields in my form, and here is what I want to do but cannot:
    - I need these fields to be displayed using the defaults date and number settings of the SAP user who is generating the form. This one is really hard for me to figure out.
    - I need some other fields to be displayed in a specific format depending on a variable in the context of my form. I imagine this could be done using scripting, but how to change the display format of a field via scripting?
    Anyone has an idea of how that can be achieved?
    Thank you.

    Hi Thomas,
    For these kind of issues you will get many answers if you search the forum.
    If your requirement is to display the current date in the form, just drag and drop the "Current date" UI element from the Library palette -> Custom.
    If it is to get the date from SAP and display, pass date to the context node and just drag and drop the field into the form from the data view.
    Check the following wiki by Chintan. It explains some common scenarios in javascript.

    Use an 'if' condition, check the value and based on the value you can make the field hide/visible in the form.
    Hope this will help.
