Why am I being charged $2.99 ~once a week?

Ive gone through my bank statements and on average once a week i am charged 2.99 by "APPLE ITUNES STORE SYDNEY AUS" or see "AUTHORISATION ONLY - EFTPOS PURCHASE AT ITUNES MUSIC STORE AUSTRALIA AU"
Ive checked my iPad app store purchases, iTunes purchases and OSX App store purchases and cant see anything that I would be charged for, im in the process of calculating this and am already in the Hundreds ( Backdating charges to match up with last Apple purchases)
I also make a point of not subscribing to anything, also if it was a subscription i should get a receipt every time right?
I did search online and found a few similar issues but none the same.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue or know who i need to contact?
James

Ive spoken to Apple over the phone and this issue is now resolved, it WAS a subscription but i wasnt getting receipts for them,
The application was Smule's Magic piano.

Apple "veriifes" your Apple ID account information everytime you download media whether free or paid thus the authorization hold. Your account will be credited the amount of the holds usually within 24 to 48 hours.

  • Why am I being charged for data when connected to wifi AND not using my phone?!

WHY am I being charged for data that I'm not using? At times when I'm asleep AND my phone is connected to wifi?!  This happens at really specific, alternating times like 9:54 pm every day, or 12:01 am, 6:01 am and then 12:01pm and 6:01pm. When I called I was told  "maybe your wifi at home is disconnecting" or "maybe your phone is connecting to atnt or sprint". It's not possible that my phone is disconnecting from wifi every six hours on the dot and, at that exact time, I'm always using data. I find it hard to believe that I live in a HUGE city and my phone magically connects to other networks and I NEVER notice this. Verizon is full of LIARS (and maybe’s) and I'm not convinced that these data charges are a coincidence. I was told to turn off my cellular data to see if the problem resolves itself. Why should I alter my daily life when Verizon is clearly the one with the issue? I hope there's a class action lawsuit because Verizon is trying to get over on everyone! I need answers!

        Hello NotHappy101,
I think it's quite odd that your data usage is at very specific times. We can certainly take a closer look. Please reply to my Direct Message, so we can get some additional details.

  • Why am i being charged twice for 11.04 and 11.46 when I did not purchase those songs, I used an itunes card 25$ and I still have 0.04 cents left?

Why am i being charged twice for 11.04 and 11.46 when I did not purchase those songs, I used an itunes card 25$ and I still have 0.04 cents left?
I couldnt redeem w/o an apple ID so when i did it asked for a credit card. And I want to discontinue and remove my account from itunes but it wont let me, there is no account discontinue or removal of account

Because too much time has passed I can't edit this into the prior comment, but here is the info regarding reverting to iTunes 11.0.2 (assuming you do have a time machine backup) from https://discussions.apple.com/message/22057703#22057703

    Repairing permissions doesn't fix it.
I reverted to the previous version, 11.0.2.
    1. Quit the new crash-prone iTunes.
    2. Delete the app.
    3. Restore v. 11.0.2 with Time Machine.
    4. In your iTunes folder look for a folder called "Previous iTunes Libraries", find the latest one.
    5. In the iTunes folder itself you'll see "iTunes Library.itl", delete it (or compress it and save a copy for later just in case.
    6. Copy the newest .itl file in Previous iTunes Libraries to the iTunes folder and rename it "iTunes Library.itl".
    7. Launch the older version of iTunes.
My crashing has seemed to have ceased with a revert to an older version. I noticed today that the newer crashing iTunes had been launched for hours but not playing anything, when I played internet radio it crashed within 5mins, fed up I reverted to an older version.
Btw, a simpler way to do this is to revert to older iTunes app, then hold Option when it launches and choose an older library.

  • Why am I being charged more than $3.00 per month?

Why am I being charged more than $3.00 per month?

The taxes would make sense, except that the song cost .69 cents and I was charged .77 cents. Even if the additional charge was due to taxes, it should have only cost .74, maybe even .75 if it was rounded up.  So I am still being charged 2-3 cents more and this isn't the first time this has happened.  I was charged $1.03 more for an album than it cost originally.  At first I thought itas because I had bought a couple of songs from it and then decided to buy the album, but I clicked on the "complete my album" button, not the "purchase album" button.  The cost for the album was $12.99 and the cost for completing my album was supposed to be $10.99.  I know that 3 cents isn't much of a difference, but when you consider how many songs I've bought from iTunes, it makes quite a difference.  Thanks for replying and I did think about this as a possibility, but the math is not adding up.

  • Why am I being charged to text another iPhone user from my iPhone

I have a pre-paid AT&T phone and am charged per text.   Normally it uses iMessage when I text other iPhone users and I am not charged.  When my friend that also has some kind of pre-paid, non-standard plan (not AT&T, t-molbie, or verizon) texts me on her iphone, I am charged for it.  Initally, I had some problems with being charged from other iphone users, but that may have been resolved when my IPad captured of the text first, before the phone did.
anyone had any experience with fixing this?

  • Why am I being charged £1.99 (£1.658) a week for something identified as "game"

Ive noticed on my recent bill that I am being charged 1.658 plus vat every wednesday. Its identified as "game" on bill. I realise that this may be a subsciption for something except I have never signed up to anything. How on earth do I find out what it is and stop it? "game" is not exactly much to go on. Thanks for any help.

  • Why am I being charged data usage during the times my phone is not being used?

I got a notice on my phone that my number has used all of its allowed data usage for the month.  I looked at my current usage and seen that I was being charged for data usage during the times that I am not using my phone.  I figured it up and it adds up to be more than the amount that you say I am over.  Explain please.

Ok, what all should I turn off on my 5s and I should get any additional fees waived.  I just got this new phone about a week before Thanksgiving and never got a notice till it was full.  I have never went over before.  I also have never been told that I could be charged data even if I am not using my phone and I should make these changes to prevent this.
Also, the phone was 2 days late getting to me.  So in addition to any additional fees that I may occur from the overage I should get a credit for the delay in my phone being sent.  Oh, and it probably would have been longer had I not called to see where it was at, which the guy that helped me put in the order and was to follow up the next day with a phone call to let me know what the status was and never did.

  • Why am I being charged an extra $20 on my current bill?

I just upgraded to the iPhone 5S in the middle of December and in doing so had to give up my unlimited data plan. My new plan is the 4GB with mobile hot spot plan, and my regular monthly bill is now supposed to be $94.99 after changing phones and plans. After the $30 upgrade fee and all the tax/surcharge nonsense my bill for this month should be $138.96.
However, I am being billed for $158.97. I am being charged as if I had the new data plan for the entire month of the billing cycle, even though I switched plans with only about 9 days remaining on the cycle. Wasn't it supposed to be prorated? Or am I just not seeing something? The monthly charges (in the top section of the line-by-line list) are listed as $115 - which is $20.01 higher than the amount listed right above it - "These are the normal, monthly charges billed in advance - $94.99).
Can anyone help explain this to me?

  • Why am I being charged for the Edge program

I recently went into a Verizon Wireless store to get some questions answered about my account and upgrade eligibility. Both my husbands and my phone were having issues and we needed to upgrade or find some other options. We began to speak with an employee at the store and were told we could upgrade to the Edge program so we could receive new phones and not wait another 5 months to our upgrade date. My phone would make random calls, text people out of nowhere, and my husbands would randomly shut down or end calls, as well as his screen was cracked. The employee stated that we could upgrade to the edge program and all we needed to do was send in an iPhone (the phone brand we were using). He said we would either need to get the screen replaced on my husbands phone as well as take my phone to apple to get it diagnosed and get that problem fixed. It sounded like an excellent deal and we asked if we could just buy a good used phone from a used website and send those phones in instead of going through the trouble of getting our current phones fixed to send in. The employee stated that as long as the screens weren't cracked and they were an iPhone 4 or higher then we would be fine. So we bought two used iPhone 4's that were in excellent condition and had no mechanical issues. We sold the phones we had to offset the cost to purchase the two used ones. We got signed up for our new edge program and sent in the two used iPhones. After a few months we received our Verizon bill and it was over $900! We called customer service and they began to tell us that our phones were broke and didn't pass the mechanical performance test so we were charged a fee. So we not only had to pay for those two used phones to send in and pay for our new phones, we are now being charged a $750 fee for these phone being so called broke? We were told that because we broke the edge contract there is no way to get a refund for this fee and have to pay it! This is the most RIDICULOUS thing I have ever heard of and is about to cause a huge appeal to this situation. I will be getting an attorney and am looking for any others who have had issues with the Edge program or similar problems. I will be filing suit against Verizon Wireless for this issue and if we get enough people with similar problems with the Edge program, then we will file a Class Action Lawsuit against Verizon Wireless to get the money back that they have stolen from us, the customers. We will also file for Verizon Wireless to pay for personal loss and harm these fee's have caused. Please reply to this thread and if you have the same problems then we will add you onto the Class Action Lawsuit so you can get back what you have lost or are losing. Thank you. Verizon Wireless Customer Support

Sounds like you Early Edged before finishing your contract.  So Verizon told you you could turn in just any iPhone for the Edge program?  I always thought you had to turn in the phone that you had not finished paying for yet, the one under contract.

  • Why I am being charged for Total Mobile Protection when I never asked for it?  I just checked my bill on My Verizon and was surprised at this additional charge.

I just checked my bill online after upgrading my phone to a iPhone 6 and now I am being charged for something called Total Mobile Protection.  Is this some kind of phone insurance or something?
I was never charged this before so was kind of upset to see it added on without my permission/knowledge (I specified to the Verizon Wireless agent in the store I went to that I only wanted the contract for the $60  2GB and Unlimited talk/text plan that I currently had.  They said that would work).
How can I get this extra $10 a month off my bill?

When you upgrade online you do have the option to deny this though the deny option is way down the page. make s it look like you have to choose an insurance option. Also I've done 2 recent upgrades in a retail store twice and both times they added the protection without asking. Luckily I always check my account so I easily removed this feature on the first day. Let's just say I won't be upgrading at this store ever again. No wonder people get mad when they upgrade multiple lines and their bill is $30, $40, $50 higher than what they a were told because of this unasked for feature.

  • Why am I  being charged for a phone I owned outright?

My fully paid for phone was stolen. I was advised that the Edge program was my best option for replacement & I  choose to go with that option. But why am I  charged $300.00 for my old phone in addition to the monthly charge for the new phone on the new program. Where did that amount even come from? as my 1st question said it was fully paid for. In reading the contract I don't see where you have to turn in the phone at the start, only if you "edge up" & I didn't do that.

You can't buy out a 2 year contract without losing your number.  Dumb, but true for other carriers also.
You can buy out an Edge installment agreement.
Your cheapest option was to purchase a replacement phone at full retail price.  Which for a Droid Turbo is $549
In 2 or 3 months when your old 2 year contract expires, call and ask for the out of contract discount. Depending on your data plan you will get $15 or $25 monthly line credit for being out of contract.  That will offset your Edge payment, netting either a payment of $7, or a credit of $3 (based on the Edge payment of $22)

  • Why am I being charge more on my CC for my apps?  A 9.99 app was .80¢ more (10.79) on my card.
