Why can't I add my Yahoo mail account to my iPhone 5S?

I cannot add my Yahoo email account to my iPhone 5S. I have searched this forum and watched videos, but to no avail.
I tried the 'other' tab, using smtp, imap, etc. But I either get the 'Server Unavailable' message or 'Username and/or password is incorrect.'
Help!

I think iphone 4 deals with mail account in an impressive way unlike the macbook pro. Because my yahoo mail account had been synced completely with all its emails and folders on the iphone 4.
BUT with Macbook pro, nothing happened even it told me that please make sure of your password. N.B. I know my password....
My question is can I have all my emails synced in my new macbook pro with all its folders. ?

Thanks, You know..... it happened with me once before when I first use the windows live mail client.... I contacted yahoo staff and they replied with the same as you replied......( I thought that there is way to do what I wanted )...
By the way they advised me, if I wanted to get my folders .... I have to MOVE messages from specific folder to INBOX then SYNC imail then CREATE folder in imail with the same name as in my yahoo and so on !!!!
OK, if there are ways to sync the WINDOWS LIVE MAIL accounts and its folders, it will be great..... Does anyone know HOW TO ?

I just upgraded my Mozilla Firefox. My yahoo mail loads but opening an email takes forever and I cannot reply, forward, or delete any mail items.

In my case, it appears that Ghostry was the problem (but for some reason, only on the Mac). I disabled blocking on mail.yahoo.com and Mail started working again...

Why can't I use my normal mail account for synching notes

I maintain my father's iDevices/computers as he has Parkinsons and does not understand the technology behind how these services work. I need to maintain as simple a configuration as possible. As an example calendaring is difficult as new entries are not necessarily put in the calendar he uses and I have to talk him through how to show all calendars on a regular basis. I can't have his mail on IMAP as he cannot manage his mail and his mailbox fills up. I can't simply pay for storage ad infinitum - my local copy of his mail is about 6 GB and growing.
I have seen several discussions where it is clear that we *must* use an icloud.com e-mail account for synching notes via IMAP, but none of them have explained WHY I MUST USE @icloud.com e-mail. If this is an IMAP based service why can't I use any other IMAP server
I see that it is referred to as an "icloud account" but if I have to enable mail, it becomes an e-mail account, which I do not want as it will be confusing if there is an issue with the main mail server (which I maintain) it will present an option to use the icloud.com e-mail as a valid option to send the mail.
I do not turn on the mail option in icloud.. (only calendar, contacts, reminders and find my iphone). I find it dissapointing that this is now what seems to be a "requirement".

That is absolutely unnecessary, but more convenient to have icloud to sync your notes. I use other IMAPs as well and can sync my notes with google and yahoo and icloud(corresponding email is required in all cases). It is your choice and you can pick your poison, but you will find out that icloud is more convenient after you or him will lose his info few times. There is no requirement, you can even use the group that will not sync with anything "on my device" if you disable all of IMAPS. Icloud is just the one that you can call Apple and normally people prefer to work with Apple support way more then with google's or yahoo's, but that is again up to your preference.

I frequently receive a notice from Mail that it "can't connect" to my yahoo mail account, despite the fact that I can receive mail from that account. The banner appears with my coded password highlighted and asks me to choose 'cancel' or 'ok'.

FRUSTRATION - why can't I add music from multiple computers to my iPhone??

I use multiple Mac computers in my life. My home computer has about 30 gigs of music. My work computer has about half that. Therefore syncing in any case is not an option. I have added some music from home to my new iPhone, and I want to do the same from my work computer but cannot! WHY?? I can do this with my 5th gen Video iPod no problem.
Plugged into my work computer now, I try to set the iPhone again to "manually manage music," but it still tells me the iPhone is synced with another computer (it is not, since I immediately disabled the sync feature before adding music). Is this going to be the case if I want to add photos from multiple computers, etc., too?

Maybe I'm missing something, but i still struggle to see the connection. Disk mode is the iPods ability to be mounted as a disk on the desktop, allowing the free disk space to be used manually. It exists completely outside the iPods normal, iTunes-driven functions, right? What we are missing on the iPhone is a simple feature from inside iTunes – a feature that all other iPods (as far as i know) have. Strange that the "Amazing iPod" does not.
Disk mode has everything to do with the ability to transfer iTunes content to an iPod from multiple computers. This is not a simple feature from inside iTunes.
Do you have an iPod? If so, are you transferring iTunes content from more than one computer to your iPod? If so, do you have disk mode enabled for your iPod? If yes, turn off disk mode and test if you are still able to transfer iTunes content from more than one computer to your iPod.
Nothing prevents me from admitting when Apple goes wrong or disappoints, but this is not the place for it. This is a user to user help forum for technical support issues and questions only which has a terms of use. Discussing Apple's policies and procedures and ranting is specifically against Apple's terms of use for these discussions.
Since this is a user to user help forum only, no one here knows Apple's reason or reasons why disk mode is not supported with the iPhone. The only answer you will get here or anywhere else for that matter is someone's opinion, unless Apple makes an announcement or information is provided by an exec during an interview. IMO, there must be a valid reason or reasons why disk mode is not supported with an iPhone since it is supported with iPods. Since disk mode is supported with iPods, more than likely there isn't a technical reason why it isn't supported with an iPhone, so I seriously doubt that Apple decided not to support disk mode with the iPhone just for kicks, or for no valid reason or reasons whatsoever on their part.
Until I know Apple's reason or reasons, it is difficult for me to admit Apple has gone wrong in this regard, for it may make Apple right for a reason or reasons we don't know, which can be disagreed on. Once facts are known, just because you believe Apple has gone wrong and/or you are disappointed doesn't mean I believe the same, which may or may not have anything to do with being an Apple fan - maybe we just don't agree.
My brand loyalty goes only so far. I did plenty of research on the iPhone before making the decision to purchase one. Before purchasing an iPhone, I can count on one hand the number of MMS I had exchanged. I have used a number of Palm handhelds for business - before they began selling a Palm cell phone, and I don't recall editing a word or excel document once during all that time. I wasn't interested in doing so with such a small screen, and since I wasn't interested in doing any editing, cut/copy/paste wasn't critical to me either.
If these features were very important to me - features I used on a daily or very regular basis, I would not have purchased an iPhone regardless the other features it includes. I certainly wouldn't purchase one anyway knowing these things, followed by wasting my time at an Apple user to user help forum for technical support issues and questions whining and ranting about it, which is common here by an immature small percentage of users. There is nothing wrong with providing constructive comments here, which constructive being the key word. There are some folks here who don't know what the word constructive means and don't have a clue about how use it.

I can no longer sync my yahoo mail account

Since yesterday my Yahoo account stop syncing. I deleted and added and now it times out

I've had the same problem with yahoo and got this error message
the user name or password for apple.imap.mail.yahoo.com is incorrect
I've entered correct info when creating the account. I've deleted the account on my iPad and iphone. Reentered the proper info but the account will not activate. As well, the password associated with those accounts is CHANGED IN THE ACCOUNT SETTINGS from what I entered previous. It is much shorter.
My husbands account, with Yahoo as well, is fine. any ideas on how to help?

Why can't I add anything from my library to my iPhone?

I have some music on my computer in my iTunes library. When I try to add it to my iPhone I get an error message which says no songs in the iTunes library can be copied to my iPhone. The only thing I could think of was to make sure the computer is authorized, which it is. I'm so lost.

click on the black arrow in search and yntick the Search Entire Library.
Now you will see your device in the left hand window and you can drag a playlist to it as you used to.

Why can't I setup a pop mail account in mail 4.5?

My Macbook has alwasy worked without issue and I use a pop sbcglobal ccount for email I did some system updates today and suddenly my email won't work. I cleared all accounts however when I go to set them back up I no longer can select the account type??? It is just automatically defaulted to IMAP when I need POP and it simply will not work correctly. Any suggestions how to to setup pop?

I have no clue why such an account would derfault to IMAP?
Nevertheless, after filling in the info on the first page of account setup, hold down the Option key until the Create button changes to read Continue. Then click on Continue, and you should be able to select POP.

Why can't I delete an e-mail account on mail?

I have tried deleting it from the mail application as well as within system preferences, but every time I open the mail app to check other account mail it reappears. I want it gone, as it is an account I no longer have access to.

Also, when I delete a bookmark, it comes back when I reopen safari. It seems to keep resetting for some reason and not deleting when I want to delete.

Why can I not access my talktalk mail account on my iPad but can do so on my MacBook Pro?

When I try to access my talktalk account on either my iPad or iPhone I cannot get past the login, however I have no difficulty on my macbookpro. I am sure I was able to do so on my iPhone before I upgraded to os6 but I have only just purchased an iPad and it has os6 as well!
