I can not even see a light when I switch it on and off. No voice over to tell me anything. Zero music!
Played music for about 1-2 hours max. Should be more than this! Checked battery before it stopped anyway and this was fine.

  • Why can't I get my iPod Touch 4 to work properly in my 2011 Honda Fit base model.

My iPod touch 4 does not respond to the directions provided in the manual. It is not possible to select desired playlists, songs, artists and albums.

Seems like the car system is not compatible with iOS 5.  Other users have reported similar problems with other car systems and docks. You have to wait for either Apple or Hoda to update their devices.

  • Why can't I update my ipod touch to the iOS 4.3?

Why can't I update my ipod touch to the iOS 4.3?
I try to update my ipod touch 4th gen. to the new iOS 4.3 software and the thing loads and after the 7-8 minutes or so, when it says "processing file" a pop up says that the network connection has timed out, and to check my network settings. I've tried several different times and get the same result. My wi-fi is working with all three bars and my computer is also connected to the internet. I've tried restoring it but it says I have to get the new software and then I get the same result( this time ipod not restored).... What's going on with my ipod? Anyone help?

    Hi,
Have you tried to see if you have the newest version of iTunes? Also, it may help if you try the following steps.
Download iOS from a third-party website (i reccomend http://whited00r.com/) (as this is a full operating system, it is a big download and may take time on a slow internet connection)
    Unzip the file.
After unzipping, you should now have a .ipsw file.
    Open iTunes
Connect your device and make sure you take a back-up of it first (if you don't all your data will be erased)
Now, while pressing the Restore button, hold down the Alt key (for Mac) or the Shift key (for Windows).
You should now have a window open asking you to choose a file.
Choose the file you just downloaded from whited00r.com
    Press OK
It should start replacing your current OS to the new one.
When this finishes, your device will restart
Click restore from (whatever your old device was called)
It will put back all your apps and information

  • How can I get my iPod touch to display all the artwork on my computer?

    Hi,
I have an iPod touch 4th gen 32 GB with iOS 6.1 on it.  I have trouble getting it to display all the album artwork that I have on my computer.  Not all of my music has it, but about 90% of it does.  Is there any way I can make it display everything that's on my computer?  I have iTunes 11 on it and it is a Windows 7 computer.  Thanks!

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

  • Why can't I download Free iPod Touch Apps from Apps Store w/Shopping Cart?

I have an 8GB iPod Touch (original model) with the current 2.1 software. I also have iTunes v. 8.0. The behavior I am seeing started about 3 weeks ago and continues with these updates - it was not like this when I first downloaded the 2.0 software and began installing Apps.
I prefer to manage my iPod Touch applications in iTunes. I have my iTunes account set up for a Shopping Cart, not 1-Click Buy. This is because for Music, I prefer to add songs I will want to my shopping cart, then buy them when I want to.
When iTunes 7.7 first came out with v2.0 software, even though I have a Shopping Cart for my iTunes, I could "buy" a Free App just by clicking on it, and it would be automatically downloaded and added to my Applications folder on iTunes. Then, when I synced with my iPod Touch, it would install the app on my iPod Touch. This was true for either new Apps or upgrades to existing Apps.
For the last few weeks, every time I try to update even an existing App for my iPod Touch, if I do it through the iTunes store, I get the following message:
"Applications cannot be purchased with Shopping Cart.
Your preferences are currently set to buy using Shopping Cart. Application purchases cannot be placed in Shopping Cart: they must be purchase by 1-Click. Select Buy if you'd like to purchase [NAME OF APPLICATION} by using 1-Click and your credit card will be charged immediately."
The [NAME OF APPLICATION] is filled in with whatever application I am dealing with at that time.
Why is it that even with a Free application, and an update for it at that, it will not let me obtain it with iTunes if I have a Shopping Cart? So far, I have solved the problem by doing all of my Applications management on my iPod Touch. I use the iTunes Store on my iPod Touch to search for and download the application. Then, when I sync, it places it in my Applications folder on iTunes on my PC.
This is very strange behavior for iTunes. Why would it want to charge my credit card for a Free Application?
    Many thanks.
    Joe

    Hi Steve,
Thanks for your reply. I do have a valid Credit Card on the account. In addition, I also have about a $5 credit from an iTunes gift card in my iTunes account.
In any event, I'm actually NOT purchasing anything. All I'm trying to do is download a FREE App for my iPod Touch. It simply won't let me do it.
    This is extremely frustrating.
    Best regards.
    Joe

  • Why Can't I put my Ipod Touch 2nd generation into recovery mode?

I have an ipod touch 2nd generation. I set a passcode on the ipod and then i forgot it. i tried everything and nothing worked and eventually it got locked fully and says "connect to itunes" on it. This is a problem because i no longer have the computer that i last synced to. i have a new laptop now and i threw away the old one.
I know how to fix it. I just have to put it into recovery mode and then restore it.
For some reason, i can't put it into recovery mode. I tried all different methods.
these are the ones i tried:
    https://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212?viewlocale=en_US&cid=acs::itunes_help
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rm2D7-PCTaw
i tried a couple more but i lost the links of them.
when i try to do the part of recovery mode where you have to start up the ipod. it doesn't go into recovery mode. it just starts up and pops up on itunes saying i have to unlock the ipod in order for the device to connect to Itunes!
    Please help!

Nevermind! after countless tries, i was able to get it into recovery mode!

  • Why can't I update my iPod touch (4th gen) to 5.0.1?

So I have an iPod touch 4th gen previously jailbroken (if that matters) but now restored becouse i wanted to upgrade to iOS 5.0.1. But everytime i try i get "error -43". So I've been googling and stuff like that to find out what it is and what it means but I can't find any match on it. So i don't know if it's wrong with itunes or the iPod so I really don't know what to do.. Anyone who know how I could fix this? Please help.

Temporarily disable or turn off all security software, such as firewall, anti-virus, anti-spam etc.. And try the download again.

  • Why can't I use an iPod touch (3) on a Powerbook G4?

My wife uses my old Powerbook G4 which has iTunes 4.7.8 installed. She now wants to use my old iPod Touch (3rd generation) but can't get iTunes to see the iPod, although it does show under USB in System Profiler.
I have worked my way through the relevant Apple support pages on non-recognition of the iPod and even re-installed the old iTunes but no go.
Do we have any other options?

No. iOS 4.2.1 and later requires iTunes 10.X and 5.1.1 requires iTunes 10.5.
OSX 10.4.11 only allows iTunes 9.X
If your Mac meets these requirements you can update to 10.5.8
    General requirements
Mac computer with an Intel, PowerPC G5, or PowerPC G4 (867MHz or faster) processor
    512MB of memory
    DVD drive for installation
    9GB of available disk space
You have to call Apple to order it since it is not listed in the on-line Apple store. The price is $129
Downgrading the iOS of the iPod to 4.1, which is supported by 10.4.11 is not supported by Apple.

  • Why can't I backup my iPod Touch?

In September, I was syncing my iPod Touch 2nd Gen with iTunes. After syncing it, a dialog box popped up saying that the backup could not be saved or the session could not be started. Then I tried to sync again but the same message appeared.
A couple weeks later, I synced my iPod Touch. Well, to be honest, it didn't even sync because iTunes said that it was starting to sync for more than an hour. So I ejected the iPod and restarted iTunes. After restarting it, everything worked out to be fine, except the backing up process.
So I then searched on Google for solutions to this problem (all of the methods I have taken are listed below), and it kinda worked. iTunes did start to backup but the progress bar was not moving at all, even after an hour so I gave up.
Every time I backup, I go to the back up folder to see if it's making any progress. It does back up, but only for a minute or so. As soon as I start syncing it, it starts to back up but then nothing else gets modified or created after 5 minutes of waiting.
Note: I don't want to restore my iPod because I don't have any back up to restore it from and I don't want to lose anything that is on there.
    What I have done:
-Deleted the backup via iTunes > Preferences > Devices
-Manually deleted the backup folder in AppData > Roaming > Apple Computer > MobileSync
    -Rebooted computer
    -Reset Warnings on iTunes

What happens when you try? Error messages? Apple says you can:
    Backup overview
iCloud automatically backs up the most important data on your iOS 5 device. Once you have enabled Backup on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch in Settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage, it will run on a daily basis as long as your device:

is connected to a power source

You can also back up manually whenever your device is connected to Internet over Wi-Fi by choosing Back Up Nowfrom Settings > iCloud > Storage & Backup.
