Why can't I install Firefox for Android on my Motorola Defy Mini? According to Antutu Benchmark system info, it has a ARM v7 CPU, so it should be compatible...

When I try to install Firefox for Android on my Motorola Defy Mini (XT320), Google Play Store tells me that my device is not compatible with Firefox for Android,so I cannot install it; according to Antutu Benchmark system info, the Motorola Defy Mini has an Arm v7 CPU installed, so it should be compatible with Firefox for Android...

Turns out it was a permissions issue, the files created by the certutil in the defaults folder got root only permissions given to them. I opened them up and it's working fine.

  • HT1338 Why can't I install Leopard for PowerPC on my old Mac Mini?

Why can't I install Leopard for PowerPC on my old Mac Mini? The massage "This can not be installed on this computer" appears.

My thoughts are that your difficulties could be one of these:
your non-retail DVD may only work on a very limited range of Mac minis
the installer may not like your new RAM
the installer may not like the language change especially if the disk has not been erased first
I have seen a little evidence for 3 in the code of other Leopard install DVDs - they appear to have less stringent language checks for erased volumes. Whilst I have never modified model specific installers I have modified retail installers to ignore speed and RAM checks.
    My advice:
back up your whole mini hard disk to an external disk - see notes
erase the hard disk and partition into 2 volumes with Leopard install DVD
try to install Leopard on one volume
put original OS on the other volume
    Notes:
Carbon Copy Cloner can be used to backup the whole hard disk
ensure the mini can be booted from the external disk before you erase the internal disk

  • Why can't I install software for AirPort Extreme 802.11n while running Mountain Lion OSX?

Why can't I install software for AirPort Extreme 802.11n while running Mountain Lion OSX?  The installation CD simply says that the software can't be installed while running this OSX.

Mountain Lion already has the most recent, updated version of AirPort Utility installed on your Mac. The version on your CD is out of date, so you can trash the CD.
Look in Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility.

  • I just bought a new 'Android' tablet, installed 'Firefox For Android' but cannot find the proper log-in button.

Android 4.4.2. New tablet. Unknown Firefox or other ad-ons.

Firefox for Android doesn't have a traditional desktop-style home page, but instead shows a "Top Sites" screen based on your history. You can search from the address bar and start bookmarking sites important to you.
Now... regarding logging it, are you trying to log in to the Firefox Sync service to get data from your desktop browser, or log in to your email site, or something else?

  • Why can't I use Ff for Android on my Huawel IDEOS U8150?

When I try to download Ff for Androids, Google sticks its nose in (they are sooo intrusive) and says I can't. Why is this? Don't Google like getting pushed out?

Actually the issue is not so much that it has a ARMv6 cpu as mobile Firefox does have support for ARMv6 as of Firefox 17.0. The upcoming [http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/mobile/19.0beta/releasenotes/ mobile Firefox 19.0 has the cpu requirements lowered to 600 MHz] but you would still be rather short on RAM.
The issue is that the cpu is only 528 MHz and it only has 256MB RAM.

  • I cannot install Firefox for Android on HTC Desire (Froyo) via Android Market, as the download keeps restarting after reaching 60-75 % (around 7-8 MB out of 13.84 MB). Any help?

The download in Market restarts after some time. The notification bar displays download % as if the previous download is still in progress. That is, first time the download started, notification bar shows correct %. At around 70%, the download inside Market app starts again from 0 KB, and the notification bar shows avergae of the two downloads(35% when download in Market is 0%, 40% when download in Market is 10%).
This second download again disappears from Market, and a third begins, no error message nor any other warning is displayed. This time the notification bar shows average of 3 downloads!
No idea what is happening, this is my first time downloading firefox for mobile.

Sorry, I don't know why the Market app is failing to complete the download.
If it is still not working, you could try the FTP server link on this page, and see if it works any better:
    https://wiki.mozilla.org/Mobile/Platforms/Android
You could also try downloading Firefox to your computer using that FTP link, and then search for instructions on how to "sideload" the app onto your phone over USB.

  • Why can't I install firefox in the language of MY chosing?

I get sometimes very tired of preassumptions on websites that are hard to change.
The Firefox download takes that to the extremes. Why can't I just install and UK version and get all the time prompted to download the NL version. I am working internationally and want all my programs to be English, so this presumption is more than just frustrating, it is wasting time and injecting lots of negative energy!

  • Why can't i install firefox on windows 7

When I try to install Firefox on my windows 7 desktop platform (running this as an administrator), I can download the install file "Firefox Setup 4.0.1.exe", but when I run the file (also as administrator), I get an 'Extration Failed' pop-up stating that it cannot open an output file.

Will it work if you right click the downloaded exe and choose run as administrator?

  • Why can't I install Firefox as an unprivileged user?

I can't install Firefox without letting it alter my system. I can install all other browsers as an unprivileged user, but not Firefox.

Did you try your solution? As soon as I cancel UAC prompt, installation aborts. I can't start installation without it showing UAC prompt. Thus I can't choose path to install browser. You know, all other browsers allow to choose installation type between "All users" and "Current user". While "All users" type requires admin rights and UAC prompt appears if user chooses it, "Current user" does not require admin rights, so no UAC prompt appears if user chooses this type. With Firefox I am not given the choice. It requires admin rights as soon as installation is launched. It even ignores set __COMPAT_LAYER=RunAsInvoker environment variable.

  • Why can't I install skype? I have a new laptop and put in all my account info but nothing happens to install. Is Firefox blocking it?

I just installed firefox on my new Asus laptop and have been trying to install skype. I tried to create a new account and I tried to log in with my old account but I was unable to access skype or to download it. I am wondering if Firefox is blocking it and what settings I would need to change. I am having no luck finding answers through the skype site. Thanks for any help.

Your GMail email is on Google's server, so you should find the same messages there that you saw before. However, any bookmarks, saved passwords, etc. that you did not sync with Weave or another solution that backs up your settings to some place on the web would need to be rescued from your old computer.

  • Why can't I install Firefox?

Firefox would open, but instantly freeze, so I couldn't even reset it. The only way to close it was through the task manager. I decided the only thing I could do was uninstall and reinstall, so I did that. It downloaded but the set up wizard never started. I can't even find it listed in my downloads. I am having to use IE to send this message. Please help!

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, #p#ly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

You can use one of these to start Firefox in <u>Safe Mode</u>:
*On Windows, hold down the Shift key while starting Firefox with a double-click on the Firefox desktop shortcut
*On Mac, hold down the Options key while starting Firefox

Do a clean reinstall and delete the Firefox program folder before (re)installing a fresh copy of the current Firefox release.
Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    *Firefox 21.0: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all.html
Uninstall your current Firefox version, if possible, to cleanup the Windows registry and settings in security software.
*Do NOT remove personal data when you uninstall your current Firefox version, because all profile folders will be removed and you will lose all personal data like bookmarks and passwords from profiles of other Firefox versions.
Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    *(32 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    *(64 bit Windows) "C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\"
*It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and won't be affected by an uninstall and (re)install, but make sure that "remove personal data" is NOT selected when you uninstall Firefox.
If you keep having problems then also create a new profile.

  • Why can I not install Firefox anymore using -ms?

I use to be able to install the downloaded versions of Mozilla Firefox using a simple switch on the command line. The switch was -ms. It worked great through, I think, version 24.0. No versions after that have worked. Is there a reason? It there an "easy" workaround? I've seen stuff that tells you create a config file and add it to the install. Surely there is an easier way? Anybody know something that will work? Appreciate any help with this.

Thank you so much!! This is exactly what I needed and is working.
Appreciate you taking the time to respond. :o)
