What browser are you using to log in to your brother account? It could be a problem with some settings within your browser that is giving you grief.

SimonFirst question that I am not clear on your answer about: Is the Apple ID itself a valid email address, and the same one that you have as your Primary email address on your account? If the actual Apple ID is not an email address, then that is why you are not able to sign on to iCloud or to verify it....it must be an email address.
If it is an email address then:
Update your OS to the latest version - 10.8.5
Once you have updated, reboot the Mac and then go to Preferences>iCloud and try to sign on with your Apple ID again.
Check Manage your Apple ID to make sure that your Apple ID/Primary email address is verified.
If the problem persists, contact iCloud Support to see if they can provide you with an explanation of the meaning of the message. If the Apple ID has already been verified, then I'm not sure why you would be getting this messge:

Why can't I log-in to Firefox Accounts to set up Sync from my laptop PC? FF30+ keeps telling me to Please enable cookies; cookies ARE enabled, and I already tried Safe Mode. This has been happening ever since the new Sync was implemented, so I'm guessing around FF 30. I am now up to FF version 34 and it still isn't working. I have not been able to sync since the "update."
Problem #1: Going to about:accounts and clicking on the blue Get Started button opens a blank screen. There isn't even a prompt about cookies. It's just blank. Screen shot attached.
This is before add-ons are disabled. If they're disabled in Safe Mode, we go to Problem #2.
Problem #2: I skimmed a thread (https://github.com/mozilla/fxa-content-server/issues/1017) and tried logging in to Sync through accounts.mozilla.com instead, but though the screen doesn't turn blank while add-ons are still enabled, the "Enable cookies" warning is as far as I can get. Going to about:accounts in Safe Mode has the same result. I have cleared all my cookies and my cache, restarted FF multiple times with and without add-ons enabled, and still nothing. I have browsed this support forum for similar questions, and while other people are having the same issue, none of the other threads have been resolved yet. Several FF versions later, this is way too long for this issue to still be unresolved.... Screen shot attached.
I know where Firefox's cookie manager is located, and I have toggled all the settings. I even allowed third-party cookies (though I really shouldn't since they're pointless). No difference. Screen shot attached.
I looked in about:config and searched for the word "cookie" in the names, but even doing that is pointless for me since I'm not a programmer and hence ignorant in what all these settings actually mean. Screen shot attached.
I'm at the end of my rope here, guys. It's been months. A year. Maybe more than a year; I don't even know anymore. Thank you for replying. Unfortunately, I already did all of these things. As you can see from the below screenshot, the language is already set. Also, this screenshot was taken in Safe Mode, so NoScript is not enabled. About:accounts still says I need to enable cookies for some reason. So, this solution didn't work.... -

Thanks for posting on Mozilla Support! We will try to do our very best to get this issue resolved. First thing, this is probably caused by corrupt cookies or cache.
In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.
Does this resolve your issue? If not, do not hesitate to let us know.

Why can't I sync with my account on computer? HELP!
I have used Firefox for years now and have used the option to sync, sign in and always be safe that I could get to my bookmarks (if and when fixed my computer and got a new one).... it has worked SO many times before.... I did it today too - and "signing in to sync" didn't give me anything at all! EVERYTHING is gone! most is personal stuff BUT I do to the university on a IT-education... I need my stuff back and I KNOW they should be there.... Where on earth did they go? More or less having a minor panic attack here... I have trusted firefox for years and.... Help me out here plz? This is not even funny :( Can anyone tell me what on earth is going in and why i CAN sync but EVERYTHING is gone?! :( I have done this several times and now....

I have tried all of those now and more but I can't get it it work. I have sync'ed several times on three different laptops I have owned and they all worked! everytime! and this time my computer just crashed - and now; here I am :/
When I tried to restore and found the restore/backup button - the only dates I get; is from after the crash happened :(
I sync my account, nothing show up. When I edit/customize my browser, it doesn't show me as sync'ed there beside 'exit-thing' - my email is only there in the menu :S
When trying to sign into "account.services.mozilla" - it won't let me either :S
I even thought I might've lost my password or something, that I lost my real sync info but nope - tried to reset that way too - but still nothing showed up :S

Why can't I print with the new version of Firefox (4.0)?
My problem has to do with printing web pages, but I am not able to change values in my Print "Properties" tab before printing. When I click to change paper size, orientation, pages to print, # of copies, etc. from the "Properties" tab, I get an error message that reads: "Prop Res DLL not loaded". I have to open Internet Explorer (and I HATE Microsoft) in order to be able to change my print properties and effectively print web pages.

Why can't i connect with the apple update server while I am updating my phone?
I was updating my phone while errors came up and finally I got rid of those errors. Now there is this message saying "the iphone cannot be restored at this time,because the iphone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable, please try again later ". what should I do?

Mac Mini Snow Leopard Server - can't login with admin account
SO....i was having problems setting up network accounts from my mac Mini Server. I took it to the Apple Genius bar one night after work to get some help on why the login screen appears for Other..but could not login into any of the accounts I created.
They made an appt for me for the next morning since they had a "guy" that could help the next morning.
When I got there for my second appt..they said they don't support server issues. Only consumer products..I though the server WAS and i WAS a consumer of their products..so..they gave me a number of a consultant..of course..for pay...
So later that day I was trying some other configurations....the power came out while I was checking a monitor cable..and when I restarted I couldn't login to the master admin account.
Since mac mini server doesn't have a DVD drive..you have to boot up with their Server DVD from another computer and the Server installs it through airport.
So I did the boot up via airport from the server install DVD.
Did the Utility disk repair AND password changed. Got some error about not being to able to login if I don't change the keychains to the account.
Rebooted the server.
It didn't work.
So now stuck with a login window..and NO ACCESS to change anything.
HELP!!!!You can access to system with root account.
If you didn't enable before, boot from SLS DVD and activate from menu (after choose language).
After that, reset all the passwords (there is a menu to do that).
After that exit from installer and reboot.
At login screen you can try to login with your user and new/blank password.
If it fails, you have to login with user root and the password you choose before.
With root user, you can access to all system, be very carefull.
Now you can create a new user and import all the files (you have to do a little work with permissions)

Can't Login With Network Account After Upgrade To Yosemite Server 4
I've been putting off this troubleshooting for a while now, and after trying everything I could find, decided to post.
- After upgrading my server to Yosemite with Server 4, and my MacBook to Yosemite, I can no longer login with any network accounts.
- I was on clean installs of Mavericks before the upgrade.
- I'm using SSL for the OD, with a GoDaddy cert, the same one that was working on Mavericks.
- I've tried removing the laptop's binding using the Users and Groups preferences dialog, which does not remove the laptop's entry from Open Directory, so I manually deleted the record on the server.
- I then choose to Join again, and it looks as though everything goes through, but I still cannot login with a network account. Also, when rejoining, it does not create a binding on the server.
- If I use the Directory Utility->Services->LDAPv3, and add it that way, entering the FQDN and checking Encrypt..., Use for auth and Use for contacts, it asks me for the directory admin username and password, and does in fact create the binding on the server, but I still cannot login. What's strange about that method, is that it forces the use of the IP address of the server, rather than the FQDN, like I entered it, which would of course have problems, because the certificate's common name is the server's FQDN. It does not allow me to change from using the IP address, graying out that field.
- I've also tried destroying the OD and restoring from archive to no avail.
It looks like many users have hit dead ends with this, with some having success by completely formatting and setting up a new iteration of the server, but I will not be doing that. However, I'll be happy to try any other suggestions.

-- MikeOkay, I've finally resolved the issue, thanks to the Apple Enterprise tech support team. I'm thinking they wouldn't mind if I share this information, but I can't guarantee that this will work on your system or, worse yet, degrade your system further. However, that's fairly unlikely, just make sure you have plenty of backups before you begin any troubleshooting session.
So I was told to perform the following instructions, which I did, line for line. The part about closing Server.app seems a given, but I'm not sure why they want you to open Server.app at the the end (maybe taken out of context from some other instructions?). I did it anyway, but you should be able to begin testing, on a client workstation, right after rekerberizing is complete. I did, however, need to reboot my client, login as local admin, and then binding would proceed, and network users are able to login again. The engineer also let me know to expect an error, something like the following: "2015-03-11 21:58:38 +0000 Error synchronizing removal of attribute draft-krbPrincipalACL from record 72519e4c-7ac7-15e4-bd42-10adb1944cbc: 77013 result: 16 No such attribute" - this is apparently normal, and did in fact happen in my experience.
So here's the fix:
- Quit Server.app (don’t just close the window)
- On the Open Directory Server, execute these Terminal commands:
- sudo mkdir /var/db/openldap/migration/
- sudo touch /var/db/openldap/migration/.rekerberize
- sudo slapconfig -firstboot
- Open Server.app
And that's it. I did nothing else on my OD server, just logged out. Immediately tried binding on my MacBook client, it failed, I rebooted, tried again, it worked quickly, and I'm able to login with network user accounts again. -
I had renamed my user login name and assumed that there will be no change in the settings and files. When I login with the new profile name everything is gone. How can I get back all my files and settings? Please help. Thanks.

I recently updated my primary email address associated with my Apple ID account.
Now when I go to App store on my iPad it still tries to login to the App store using the old email address I had associated with the account, and naturally my password doesn't work. I can't figure out how to tell my iPad to login using the updated email address.
So in effect I'm locked out of the app store and I currently have 26 updates waiting.
I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting my IPad to iCloud with no luck.. However I cloud happens to show the correct/updated email address.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?
ThanksDid you change the email for the Apple ID or did you create a new Apple ID? A new Apple ID cannot be used with content that was bought using a different Apple ID.

Okay, got it working!
My process was pretty straightforward (of course, everything is, in hindsight):
(1) Go to my user library folder
(2) Do a spotlight search for the word "mail"
(3) Delete something that looks like it might be related to/possibly interfering with Mail's operation
(4) Try Mail
I repeated the above process a couple of times and poof, Mail started to add my accounts! First, my Gmail account, and then, after disabling and re-enabling my iCloud account inside System Preferences > iCloud, my iCloud account too!
The file I believe was the lynchpin was located here:
~/Library/Containers/com.apple.mail/Data/Library/Mail
Give that a shot if you can't get your iCloud/Gmail email to show up in Apple Mail 7.1 (1827) under OS X 10.9.1, despite the accounts seemingly adding succesfully in System Preferences.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This may delete mail you have stored locally, so please do not attempt if you store your email locally (i.e. POP email setups). I think for IMAP setups (e.g. iCloud & Gmail) this is just deleting the cached versions of the emails, so they'll just get rebuilt once the email is downloaded from the server again.
