Why can't I open a pdf from a web-site

Windows 7 Home is my operating system.  Internet Explorer 10 is my browser.  I cannot open a pdf file off my VISA account web-site.  I have downloaded and agreed to the latest Adobe Reader XI (I also have Adobe X, should I uninstall it?)    When I try to open the pdf file which is my monthly VISA statement, I get this message:  "To help protect your security, your web browser has blocked this website from displaying non-secure content."  I have also turned off the pop-up blocker.  Nothing works.  Can anyone help.  I am a novice on computer technology, so I don't know much about the way the computer works (my husband is the expert in this household, but he's recovering from heart surgery and is not yet able to think through these situations).  I thought I already posted this problem, but I can't find my post.

Firefox is a good browser, but it comes with its own PDF viewer, which may not display PDF files correctly.  See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1158136
If you want to continue to use Internet Explorer, you may want to lower its security settings; see http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/Change-Internet-Explorer-Security-settings

    Hey Carolyn,
I do have this app on my iphone and it works great. My issue in when I try to download a PDF from a page in Safari. Chrome does it without any problems. I'm just trying to use Safari more as it is apparently "faster" and "uses less power". Thisis based on the latest information I viewed from the WWDC.

    Back up all data.
Triple-click the line of text below to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go > Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have the letters “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Why can I not create a PDF from a web page on my Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro on my new Windows 8 computer? It worked fine on my windows XP system?

Acrobat 8 is not compatible with Windows 8,  for the simple reason it was
created much before it and Adobe could not participate the changes to the
OS that Microsoft implemented many years later on. You need to buy the
    current version for compatibility.

Can you explain in better detail?
Is it when you open the file attachment and attempt to Print?
Is it right-mouse clicking and attempting to Print?
Is it when you print the email itself and expect the attachment to Print?

OK. You mean that it has fillable form fields. Those will not open in the mail app or in iBooks.
Download Adobe Reader in the App Store. It is free. Then go back to the mail app, tap on the PDF file to get the Open In window to pop up. When the Open In window pops up, select Adobe Reader. The PDF will open in Adobe Reader and be saved in there. You should be able to fill out the fields in the Adobe Reader app and then you can email it from there if needed.

Don't know! You'll have to give us more details of what's happening when you try. Can you print other documents OK? When you try to print, does the printer icon appear in the dock - click on it and see if there are any printer messages.

Why can't i open raw files from me eos canon 7dii on PS elements 12

Because your camera is newer than your software.
You need ACR 8.7 which was released this week, to open CR2 files from the 7D.2.  Only current Adobe products can use this version, which would be PSE13 and the Photoshop versions CS6, CC & 2014 and some Adobe video products.
You can also use the free DNG Converter 8.7 to create DNGs of a folder of images at a time, and then open those DNGs in an older PSE version, but you’ll never be able to open the native CR2 files unless you update the host software to the current versions.
The DNG Converter 8.7 is available from the Adobe Updates page:

  • Why can't I open a PDF in Word?  I have Microsoft Office:Mac 2011

Why can't I open a PDF document in Word.  I have Microsoft Office:Mac 2011 installed because I have to email PDF and word documents to my clients.  Please help.
I currently have been viewing them in Preview.  Is that the only way?

Word is a text processor, not a PDF viewer. You can embed a PDF document in a Word document, but that's pretty much it. Besides Preview there are numerous third-party applications that can also view PDFs such as Adobe Reader.

    Why can't I open my PDF's?

Beats me. Can you tell us any more about it? Some of the things you might want to share include:
    - your version of Adobe Reader or other PDF software?
    - any message you get (exactly, in full)?
    - your system (e.g. Windows 7, Mac OS Lion)?
    - if you're running another app (e.g. Outlook, Chrome) what is it?

  • I cannot open any pdf on any web site!

Any advice please. I cannot open any pdf on any web site!
This happened since Monday 16 Septemeber, after I downloaded and then uninstalled Adobe Reader.
My Safari preference is "allow all other plug-ins", and preview would open pdf downloaded files to my MBA, but not if on the web.

    Back up all data.
If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder

From the folder that opens, remove any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.
