Why can't I quit you, photoshop?

Go to Photoshop (CS6) Menu, and choose "Quit". Go back to InDesign, and Photoshop pops open. At first, I thought I'd hit the dock icon by accident. Wasn't the case. Over and over and over and over, quit, auto open. It was mildly amusing in a confusing way at first, but like a younger sibling that hovers their fingers just above your skin, this game is getting old. OSX 10.6.8; Photoshop CS6 13.0.6; InDesign CS6 8.0.2; Acrobat Pro 10.1.12; Chrome 21.0.1180.89.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to make this stop?

    Or you can actived the right button on your magic mouse and click on they icon in the dock. then you select "stop" and it's out of your dock.

    As has been pointed out, the Adobe Photoshop Forum is NOT staffed by Adobe employees (though a few engineers DO stop by, when they have the time), and we are but users, such as yourself. The only reason I checked is because on certain sites, I can't download files and the view completely.     Wow I logged into my account here & could not find anywhere to help everyone with the Firefox 32 update patch or whatever that was.
    The update failed over & over & was just trying to tell anyone that if you download a fresh copy of Firefox & run as administrator install it overwrites the files & updates.
    I don't see why there is not an easier way to contribute like "A BUTTON" that says help Firefox or "Report a problem" or give help whatever. I'm outa here this is ridiculous. I even wanted to be a beta tester & there contact and communication with the team is WOW impossible !

    You can remove Dashboard from you dock so you won't see the arrow under it anymore. It's basically a system process not an application & so really isn't easy to "quit". If you're concerned about resources, Dashboard itself takes up very little, but any widgets you have on the dashboard can use resources. If you remove all the widgets from the dashboard (just displayed, not available for use), your resource usage of dashboard goes to basically nothing.

    External Photo Editors are not supported in Photos. You can export any photo to the Desktop and then pass them the Photoshop for editing and reimport them.
    The problem is, that Photos is a completely new designed photo application, designed for Yosemite and the MacOS X versions to come. Many differences are under the hood. It uses the new system libraries and frameworks for more efficient image processing on the new powerful macs, like the mac pro, it is extensible by app extensions, if other developers will add functionality, and most important, it brings integration with iCloud Photo Library.   Photoshop and other external editors have not yet been upgraded to support this.  I hope, the updates will come soon.
    Some features are still missing however, and you can continue to use iPhoto, if you like. Or create a small Photos library for testing and explore Photos, while keeping your main libraries in iPhoto.

    I downloaded Creative Cloud, but when I click to download Photoshop trial under the Apps, I'm getting the message "Unable to extract files.  Please Retry to download again or contact customer support (EX20)".
    Can anyone help?  Every time I click retry I just get the same failure message.

    Do you have a software firewall?
    Are you running any anti-virus, or anti-malware software?
    What are your security settings?

  • Why can't I edit in Photoshop any more

    I reinstalled both LR4.2RC and Photoshop CS5 on a new drive. But now I can't seem to edit in Photoshop from LR. Am I doing something wrong? It worked fine before (except for getting the "Render in Lightroom" thing because of the differnece in process versions). Using Windows 7 Prof. Cntrl E no longer works and Edit in Photoshop is grayed out on the drop down menu. Both work independently just fine. A setting in LR perhaps? Thanks for help.

    We really apologize for all the inconvenience which has caused you.
    Assuming that you are using Windows machine please follow the steps below:
    On Windows, try the following solutions in order:
    Solution 1: Uninstall and reinstall Photoshop.  Any information that was damaged since Photoshop was installed is re-created.
    Solution 2: Re-create the Photoshop.exe application path registry key.
    Disclaimer: This procedure involves editing the Windows registry. Adobe doesn't provide support for editing the registry, which contains critical system and application information. Make sure to back up the registry before editing it. For more information about the registry, see the Windows documentation or contact Microsoft.
    Exit Photoshop and Lightroom.
    Choose Start > Run. If you do not have Run listed, see What happened to the Run command?
    Type "regedit" (without quotes) in the Open box, and then click OK to start the Windows Registry Editor.
    Navigate to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\.
    Right-click the App Paths folder and choose New > Key.
    Type "Photoshop.exe" (without quotes) as the name of the new key, then press Enter.
    Right-click the Photoshop.exe folder and choose New > String Value.
    Type "Path" (without quotes) as the name of the new value, then press Enter.
    In the right pane of the registry, right-click the (Default) value and choose Modify.
    In the Value Data field, enter the location of the Photoshop.exe file on your computer. Include Photoshop.exe at the end of the path. For example, if you installed Photoshop CS5 to the default location, enter C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop
    CS5\Photoshop.exe. If you have a different version of Photoshop or have installed to a different directory, change the path as appropriate.
    Click OK.
    In the right pane of the registry, right-click the Path value and choose Modify.
    In the Value Data field, enter the file path for where the Photoshop.exe file is on your computer. (This path is the same as you entered in step 10, except omit Photoshop.exe from the end.) For example, if you installed Adobe Photoshop CS5 to the default location, enter C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5\. If you have a different version of Photoshop or have installed to a different directory, change the path as appropriate.
    Click OK.
