Why can't I save a re-sized image in the new size and new dpi? This just started happening 2 days ago.
I haven't been here before.
For some crazy reason when I try to save a re-sized image with a different dpi, PS6 indicates I have saved it.
But if I go to re-open the same image, its in a different (but proportional) size and its original dpi.
I also have PS3 and if I open the re-sized image in PS3, it opens in the correct new size and the new dpi!!
What's wrong with my PS6??
Thanks but I don't think you understood the question so I'll be specific.
I took an 8x12 image at 300 dpi (not ppi) and enlarged it to 20x30 at 240 dpi.
I then did a "save as" for this larger size and it seemed to save properly.
I closed the image.
When I re-opened the image in PS6 it opened as 16.667x25 at 300 dpi, not the saved 20x30 at 240 dpi.
That shouldn't happen.
When I opened the same image in PS3 it opened as 20x30 at 240 dpi the way I saved it.
So my question was why isn't PS6 opening the image as it was saved?

I found I could not open my email within hotmail. Hotmail itself works in IE and Google Chrome so I know it is FF. I can open the account but not individual emails nor can I delete junk mail. Nothing within the hotmail window seems to work.
This issue can be caused by an extension that isn't working properly.

I use Firefox to load pictures into my Picassa Albums. Two days ago when I tried to make a new album, Firefox repeatedly block Picassa. I checked in the Options box and my Picassa site was listed to ALLOW but it will not allow. How do I fix this problem so I can use Picassa?

I can receive emails, but I cannot send emails. This just started happening. I have an iPhone and I can send emails from my phone fine. It's just not working on my Macbook. Every time I try to send an email it goes straight to my outbox. Can anyone help?
Thank you for heading me in the right direction. I reset my Mail account for Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net:(customer ID)@att.net (instead of smtp.att.yahoo.com, per Apple's online troubleshooting information). I'm not sure what "(Offline)" means when it appears at the end of my Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP)?? In the Advanced box I clicked on "Use custom port: 465" and checked "Use Secure Sockets Layer." Authentication: Password; I have correct User Name and Password put in. After doing all this, when I try to send emails again today, they go directly to the Outbox and sit there.
What's curious is that my first sent email this morning did go out using the Outgoing Mail Server, smtp.att.yahoo.com: (customer ID)@att.net(Offline) but subsequent emails I tried to send with this server were rejected with the message: "Cannot send message using the server smtp.att.yahoo.com (etc.). The SMTP server doesn't support TLS(SSL) on port 587. Verify your account settings and try again." That's when I tried resetting my Outgoing Mail Server to outbound.att.net (etc.), as mentioned above, and was unsuccessful in sending out any further emails. I guess my next step is to contact my email service provider, AT&T, and see if they can help me. Thanks, again, for taking the time to respond and for giving me your input! Much appreciated! -
My itunes is on an old computer. So old that I can't update it and so Haven't used it in two years. How can I move it to my new laptop and make sure this doesn't happen again? Very frustrated that I've spend $$ but can't get my music.
I want so set up itunes on my laptop and make sure that I get all of my old music and any music shared from my sons' itunes accounts. Do I have to set up itunes on my new laptop first and then use the same logins? Really concerned about losing any music, etc.These are two possible approaches that will normally work to move an existing library to a new computer.
Method 1
Backup the library with this User Tip.
Deauthorize the old computer if you no longer want to access protected content on it.
Restore the backup to your new computer using the same tool used to back it up.
Keep your backup up-to-date in future.
Method 2
Connect the two computers to the same network. Share your <User's Music> folder from the old computer and copy the entire iTunes library folder into the <User's Music> folder on the new one. Again, deauthorize the old computer if no longer required.
Both methods should give the new computer a working clone of the library that was on the old one. As far as iTunes is concerned this is still the "home" library for your devices so you shouldn't have any issues with iTunes wanting to erase and reload.
I'd recommend method 1 since it establishes an ongoing backup for your library.
Note if you have failed to move contacts and calendar items across you should create one dummy entry of each in your new profile and iTunes should merge the existing data from the device.
If your media folder has been split out from the main iTunes folder you may need to do some preparatory work to make it easier to move. See make a split library portable.
Should you be in the unfortunate position where you are no longer able to access your original library or a backup then then see Recover your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device for advice on how to set up your devices with a new library with the maximum preservation of data.

Every single website url address, or url address within a website page is being added to my location bar/address bar drop down menu.
I don't want everything added or saved in the location bar. Only urls that I used a lot used to be saved there but now every single url (and url within a url)I visit is being added to it.
How can I stop this? This just started happening.
I'm sure it's a simple browser setting but I've checked and nothing gives an option to control this.

I can't select icloud backup on my iphone 5, i've got 4.5 gig of available storage and this just started 2 weeks ago, I've tried deleting a couple of apps, signing out, rebooting, all to no avail. The button stays grayed out and will not let me select. Any ideas on how to solve this?

When I type my email address in the "To:" field, a random name comes up next to it as "Holidays in United States". This just started happening out of the blue and I have no idea why. Does anyone else have any idea?
Just to recap, this is a collection of ports I have collected over time for people who needed this information when setting up the HP ePrint app so that they could view their email from within the app. I am certain other applications also need this information. Although lengthy, I could not find a more comprehensive place to retrieve this information. My mac has started sending yahoo emails out as if they were being sent from an old gmail account I haven't used in years. Why has this just started happening?
It is important to understand that Mail uses TWO servers, a Receiving Server and a Sending Server.
When you create a new mail message, or reply to a message, the Sender server is shown in the message composition window like this:
That drop-down window allows you to select which of the Sending Servers you previously set up should be used.
In general, once you choose a Sending server, its choice will "stick" for all future replies to messages from that Receiving mailbox. -
I can't open any of my Groups pages on Facebook, just my Newsfeed,mobile using Safari (on my Ipad). But they open using Chrome. This just started happening, as it was working fine for months.
Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that didn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Setting
Restart your iPad.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then swipe the slider to power off.
Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
No data is lost due to a rest -

Why can't I save my tabs when I exit the Firefox browser?
That is to say, where is the option that was available in the previous version of firefox?
I ''don't'' care for the option "open browsers from last time" since I may not want to save my tabs each and every time, not to mention the fact that it's goddamn cumbersome to keep going to the options menu just to switch between "show my homepage" and "show my tabs" every time I use firefox. I mean honestly.
And don't even '''mention '''the "restore previous session" option. I can't help but feel like what I'm asking is that difficult to implement. Why was it removed in the first place? It was a very important feature for me, when Firefox would ask: "Do you want firefox to save your tabs for next time" when I'd close the window, and there was an option to stop firefox from asking for those who so wish.
Please bring back that feature, it suits my needs perfectly. I hope people remember what I'm referring to. I hope "about:config" has an option to bring this back...You can have things the old way, and even if you don't choose to restore your tabs the next time Firefox starts you can still restore your through your history as John99 mentioned, should you change your mind after restarting Firefox.

Why can I only "Save as Other... Reduce File Size" a single time for an Adobe X file?
We are struggling with our form editing in that anytime we make a change and save the file size is doubled. As a work around we started using the ...Reduce File Size save as. However, we can only use that once per file. Some of our forms contain several hundred fields that are edited, with the behavior as is we cannot save our work as we go.
Reproduction Steps...
1. Open a file in Acrobat X and note it's file size.
2. Make any kind of change (our work is focued on View>Forms>Edit)
3. Go to File > Save as Other... > Reduce Size PDF
4. Set Version Compatability to 'Retain Existing' and Save
5. File size should be very close to the original
6. Open the new file
7. Rinse and repeat steps 2 and 3
8. Note that when you go to try to Save as the new edit, the Save As Reduce size is grayed out and no longer available for seslection.
Please help!!!!Just do a standard Save As. The problem is that Save includes the old and new. Save As deletes the old. Also, if you distribute the form it is locked from editing as I understand it.

Why can't I save a picture after I change the resolution in CS5, I could before.
Why am I unable to save a picture one I change the resolution? I know that I am doing it correctly I have done this thousands of times and all of a sudden it doesn't work. Pictures will save if I make other adjustments i.e. crop, erase...etc. The changes are made while the picture is open in photoshop I see the resolution changing but when I save it simply does not. Beyond FRUSTRATED PLEASE HELP! AS ADOBE WON'T HELP ME SINCE CS6 has been released I was told if I want help buy CS6.
Have you tried closing the Photos app completely and seeing if the pictures save to the camera roll/saved photos album after you re-open the app ? From the home screen (i.e. not with Photos 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Photos app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work then you could try a reset and see if it works after the iPad has restarted : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
