Why can't I watch news video on ipad2? Says I need adobe and that is not supported on this device

I subscribe to several news feeds and cannot watch the videos they post (fb). On the site I am tol I need adobe but my device does not support it. Why doesn't it and what can I do?

Actually it is not Adobe refusing to build an ios version of Flash, it is Apple who has refused to work closely with Adobe to allow them to create a very efficient version.
In Steve Job's own words he says "WE do not allow Flash on IOS..."
Blackberry, who has been working with Adobe, and allowing them access to the resources they need in order to create a very efficient Flash player has done so with incredible success. Even the Register points out how insanely well the Flash player and Air enviroment runs on the playbook, and during their tests found zero effect on battery compared to using any other software on the device, which gets about 13 hours in battery life.
Google, has also allowed Adobe access to the resources required to make an efficient player and have done so with incredible success, Android 3.1 and Flash 10.3 incorporated Hardware acceleration, the ability for flash to perform operations on the gpu, requiring far less energy. Many reports coming out have found the same situaton as they did with the blackberry, meaning Flash, when allowed access to the proper resources can be less resource intensive and less of a battery drain than any other software on the device.
Windows, has been working with adobe and allowing them access to these resources for years, and you can see the difference in performance on a windows machine vs a mac.
If Apple does not want to work with Adobe to allow the Flash runtime to perform up to its potential on their devices then that is fine. But understand it is Apple that is crippling the flash runtime and causing it to perform task in ways it is not designed to, and thus requiring more resources, and battery.
Last year, when Steve Jobs released his open letter, I was up in the air about it. But now after seeing company after company manage to get the Flash runtime working and being super efficicient, I have no choice but to think that the only company having issues with it (Apple) must be doing so via thier own choice, and not due to the fault of adobe, or the efficiency of the platform.

QuickTime is capable of playing more video formats than the iPad. The iPad can play M4V, MP4 and some MOV format videos. It can not play formats like WMV and FLV.
One thing you can do is to convert the video formats on your computer.
A free program that can do it is HandBrake, which is available for both PC and Macintosh at <Download>.

- Try restoring the iPod, first from backup and then try to factory settings/new iPod to rule out a software problem.
- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, foreign material and broken or cracked plastic.
- Could you have damaged something when you took the iPod apart and replaced the Home button?

Can you turn off the "Charging not supported with this device" messages?

I recently bought a standard dock extender cable in order to connect my iPad to my Apple HiFi and have had music from Pandora constantly interrupted by sporadic "Charging not supported with this device" messages. The messages will continue to come up repeatedly despite pressing the "Dismiss" bar repeatedly.
Is there a way to turn those kinds of warnings off in either iPad Settings or in iTunes when docking the iPad?

Try connecting the iPad to the iPod Hi-Fi with a male to male mini-stereo cable. I use one of these cables to connect my Airport Express to my iPod Hi-Fi, so that I can use it with AirTunes.
You can even combine the cable with the Apple iPad Dock, which would let you charge the iPad while using it with the iPod Hi-Fi.

I can watch ustream videos on my apple mac pro. However, I can't watch them on my iPad....I had downloaded the UStream app, but that also didn't work.

Why can't I watch HD videos on youtube on my iPhone 5?

I want to apologize if this has been asked before but I just couldn't find a thread that had this discussion. I just realized the other day that I cannot watch HD videos on youtube on the iPhone 5. My friend just got a Galaxy S3 and we were comparing the playback quality and there is a huge difference. Both of us were connected to a wifi network and we chose the same exact video and on the Galaxy S3, it tells you that its playing the HD version of the video whereas on the iPhone 5, it by default was playing the low quality version and there was no way for me to choose the HD version. So my question is, can the iPhone 5 play HD video on youtube at all? Is there an option that I need to select for it to do that?

Jasmine has settings to control the video quality. The YouTube app doesn't give you any control.
Neither of these apps are from Apple. The YouTube app is from Google, and as the maker of Android, they have no particular interest in making the iPhone look good.

Make sure you have the latest version of flash installed. If not you can go to the Adobe website and download and reinstall it.

When I use the same cable with the wall adapter it charges just fine.

LOL My situation is the opposite. plug my iPhone 3GS with USB cable and attach to mini adaptor (or whatever the small one is called) and it does not charge. Connect the same iPhone 3GS to my MacBook, using same cable, an charging takes place for iPhone. Then, connected the iPhone to the AC power with the large Apple AC adaptor and it always charges. Seems to be the small adaptor and sometimes a third party automobile adapter.
At first I thought this might be because I was using third party USB cable, but now wonder about that since there are so many problems that others are having.
Having scoured the discussions, it appears no definitive answer has been given. Am I wrong. Maybe I never found the answer to what is happening here.
