Why Case-Sensitive while assigning tasks to other users??

I am trying to assign a task to another user through AdminUI.
While searching for users, I am supposed to provide case-sensitive search text to find actual users.
In previous installations it is not a problem. i.e only in production it happens.
Is there any place to modify this settings?
Please see the attached screenshot of the page.
Thanks,
Nith

Raghu,
thanks for the reply, you are right as per the audit .But suppose if it is for 200 users ,creating 200 CUP requests will be impractical right.
there should be some solution for this , because there will be many situations practically where we have to assign roles to N number of users.
Is this possible in GRC 10 ? any idea ?

    Hi Glen,
I am trying to use ExtendedPropertyType and put in UpdaterItemType as in this code as below. Although it is not updating the Owner

I have tried it both by Propertyname and PropertyID. Although new custom property's canbe

    2. And Is ProprertyID a fixed value as 0x811f or does it need to be calculated.

  • How to assign task to others with an attachment?

    Hi All,
How to assign task to other with an attachment and field values in the actual InfoPath form?
In detail, If a InfoPath form has submitted then task should be assigned to a person with an attachment and some field values which are present in InfoPath form.
    How to achieve this scenario?
    Thanks in advance!

What you describe is a simple approval workflow. SharePoint comes with approval workflows out of the box.
When a task is created to approve an item, it does not need to have the attachment that is already in the item. The task will contain a link to the item that needs to be approved, so there is no need to duplicate the file attachment.
You may want to read a bit more about the out of the box approval workflows in SharePoint. Start here:

    Hi,
In order to narrow down the causes, I have the following question:
    1. Does this issue occur on OWA?
    2. Does this issue occur to all the users?
If the issue occurs to all the users, I think you need to enable the pipeline tracing log to which HUB server is the root cause.

  • Changing case-sensitivity while upgrading?

The Macbook pro i recently inherited has a case-sensitive file system and I was hoping to change this by upgrading to Lion. So my question is, is it it possible to do this when upgrading to lion over the Mac store or do I need to get a solid copy of the OS?

Best to put a bootable backup/clone onto an ext FWHD formatted w/o case sensitivity, ensure that you can boot from it, and reverse the process. That should remove that from your machine. Installing Lion won't do the trick.

From Task 1, user can assign the Task 2 to different multiple user at the same time or user can assign the Task 2 to different users at some time interval.
Now, Task 1 user should wait to complete the all Task 2 assignment or Task 1 user can close the Task 2. If Task 2 user is not responding.

Please help me how can i achieve the above scenario in BPM11g 11.1.1.6.0

For the Release effected step you can add but I think you have to create cuistom Wflow for that. You cannot use WS20000075.

    Hello Nguyen -
CIL (Common Intermediate Language) is the code we are writing inside the activity as method.
It can be any one of BPL(Business Processing Language - is the common snippet using for OBPM) or .NET or Java code.
In the above case we are using BPL.This is the beauty of Oracle BPM.Its supports all the three :)
Each process activity references a method. Methods can have CIL code implemented or can be empty,
but associated methods must always exist for process activities.

  • CS5.5 Master Collection on Case-Sensitive File System

    Hello,
The first thing I'll say is that I already know it's not possible to install on a case-sensitive file system.
So, on to my question.  I have been tasked to find out a way to get this installed on our 30-35 Macs with case-sensitive file systems (required for other courses/tasks, so not an option to format.)  I was trying to think of a work-around that would let me install and use the CS5.5 Master Collection, but have not been successful yet.  Please note, I am not looking for a hack or extensive renaming of a bunch of files or other half-solutions I've found.
Basically, what I was wondering is, if I go into Disk Utility and create a 35GB "Disk Image", mount that, and then try to install, why doesn't that work?  I mean, I am technically trying to install to a case-insensitive file system at that point, but CS5.5 still pops up with an error.  Has anyone gotten this type of solution to work, or any other for that matter?  Luckily my college hasn't bought the licenses for all these systems yet, but when a solution is found, they're jumping on it right away.  The main reason I don't want a "hacky" solution is that being deployed on 30-35 systems, this has to be a simple solution, not something that takes hours per system.
    Any insight is greatly appreciated.
    Jeffrey Simmons

Thank you for the information, I had a hunch it was installing stuff elsewhere too, but wasn't 100% sure.  As for the problem, I ended up just converting to a case-insensitive boot partition.  To others who may want to do this, I used iPartition without a problem.  The only catch is, you can't just run it from the OS drive, you either have to burn a iPartition Boot DVD (requires you have your OS dvd as well), or do what I did and just install OSX to an external drive, install iPartition, then convert the file system on the regular OS drive.  A bit of a hassle, but you don't have to format your system.
CS5.5 Master Collection then installed fine, with no problems.  Unfortunately, Photoshop keeps repeatedly crashing.  It's fine for hours, then crashes 4+ times within an hour.  Repeats this over and over unfortunately.  Adobe support hasn't been helpful at all, so I'm just going to return this software and continue using Gimp.  It has always done everything I wanted, but I wanted the "name brand" software.  In the end, it's not worth the hassle, and definitely not worth losing my work over and over, so back to the store it goes.  Thanks again for taking the time to help out though.

  • CProject user cannot edit (confirm) their assigned tasks

    Dear Experts,
we are facing an unexpected behaviour on cProjects: project user cannot edit (confirm) their assigned tasks, because the authorizations at the task level for user appear as Read (authorizations view on task), while on the project definition, for the same tasks the user is assigned Write permissions. Something must be happening in between that we are not getting right.
More details on the configuration behind and the process:
    - In Project definition level, project roles (coming from a project template) are staffed to users (business partners)
    - Project roles coming from project template are assigned to a project role type with Default authorization set as Read. Because we want all project users to be able to access in read mode to the whole project and tasks; and then be able to edit (Confirm) only their assigned tasks. Except for the project manager role, who has a different project role type assigned wih Admin default authorization set
    - After making the staffing at project level, this seems to be working fine: all project users have read access assigned at project structure level and rest of tasks, except the project manager who has Admin authorization. And for each task, the user assigned to the task has write permissions.
    - But when a user open the task from the tasks dashboard, and go to the Authorizations tab, then the user has Read permission for the same task, which causes the consequence of not being able to Edit and Confirm.
Can you guide us to understand why the Write authorization is being overriden to Read at user access? Should not the default authorization “read” at project role type be overwritten by the assignment of the user to the task?
Maybe is there other configuration setting that is missing or needs to be checked?
    Many thanks in advance,
    Roberto

Thanks Ravi, I answer your questions:
    1) How did you give write access? - Manually in ACL-Authorisations tab or through selection of responsible role/person in basic tab.
we use the second option. We create projects from templates that have roles assigned to tasks. After we complete staffing in the project, we assign users (business partners) to each project role. After this, automatically, users are assigned as task Responsible and receive their tasks assigned in the task dashboard.
Question here: since we do not use Resources, the field responsible resource is not used/filled- Is this required?
    2) Whether the task accessed by the user is in 'Released' status?
yes, tasks are released, so that ther users receive the task in Tasks Dashboard, but due to the permissions issue, they cannot confirm task
The only possible workaround we have found to solve the issue is to assign Write authorizations to all users, but at project level. So the consequence is that users can edit all the project tasks (not only their assigned tasks) and we want to avoid that. We want users to have read access to whole project and write access to their assigned tasks (by staffinf Users to roles)
    thanks again for help.
    best regards,
    Roberto

  • Time Machine Case-Sensitive Error

I've read several posts about people who encounter the Time Machine error that arises when TM thinks that one of the volumes (source or destination) is case-sensitive while the other is not. Some people encounter this error genuinely, by which I mean that there is in fact a discrepancy between the file systems; this is not the situation I wish to address.
There are other people - myself included - who have been using TM successfully for months or longer until one day the error crops up. When we check Disk Utility, both source and destination are shown to be case-insensitive. Many approaches have been suggested, from rebooting to reformatting, and many people have reported success; however, it appears to me that the problem has not been solved, since the cause of the problem has not been identified.
In my own experience rebooting sometimes fixes the problems temporarily (for a few weeks) before it later reappears. But I would rather not reboot repeatedly, repeatedly Verify the disks using Disk Utility (finding no errors every time), or reformat unless I am sure that it will fix the problem once and for all. With that in mind, does anyone know of a permanent fix to this problem?
    Details:
    - TM thinks that the source volume Macintosh HD is case-sensitive
    - Disk Utility says that both the source and the external Firewire destination are case-insensitive

Hi, and welcome to the forums.
I've not seen any such posts here (and I read at least the title of every post in both the Leopard and Snow Leopard Time Machine forums).
There are problems, on occasion, when there's a case-sensitive disk image of some kind on the internal HD (some downloaded software comes on case-sensitive disk images, for some reason); but that doesn't seem to be what you're experiencing.
What, exactly, does the message say?
There might be some sort of problem with your internal HD. When this happens, does the disk show it's S.M.A.R.T. status as Verified? Does +Verify Disk+ ever show an error?
I'd be inclined to try a "full reset" per #A4 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum. It's possible the preference file that directs you to is corrupted. This is a long shot, of course, but worth a try.
If this happens again, look for any disk images, and try to get the exact message. You may also want to look in your system.log for messages.

  • How to convert case-sensitive to extended journal format

I have two apple computers (extended journal format) that have been backed up via a time capsule. I have just noticed that the TC is formatted as case-sensitive. I do not know why case-sensitive. In an effort to ensure consistency of file format then I seek to somehow remove case-sensitive formatting. I presume no/minimal underlying case-sensitivity issues within file names as source data is not formatted in case-sensitive manner.
I have tried SuperDuper to clone the TC to an external HDD but the application cloned the formatting in addition to the data.
I have attempted use of Disk Utility to copy content from source (TC) to destination (HDD) but this yielded error messages that noted different file format types.
It there a way to convert/remove case sensitive formatting from TC?
I appreciate that I could simply reformat TC to extended journal format but this would presumably erase all my backup data.
    Any guidance most welcomed.

    RossM wrote:
So I guess my choice is to "leave well alone" as Pondini suggests and accept the fact that cloning TC onto HDD has now formatted my new HDD as case-sensititive.
Actually, you may have two choices, depending on how you're going to be backing-up to the new HD:
Your best bet, by far, is to back up to it directly, rather than connecting it to the TC.  That's much faster and more reliable.  If so:
    * Leave the TC backups alone.  Reformat the HD as case-ignorant and let Time Machine start fresh on it.  You can always see and restore from the old ones via the Browse... option, per Time Machine - Frequently Asked Question #17.
    * Format the HD as case-sensitive and copy the backups from the TC to it. But don't copy the whole sparse bundle; copy the Backups.backupdb folder from the sparse bundle to the top level of the HD.  (Sparse bundles are used only for network backups.)  See #18 in the FAQ; you'll need the 4th procedure (copy network backups to be used locally.
But if you're going to connect the HD to the TC and back up to it that way, it doesn't matter how you format the HD, since the backups must be in a sparse bundle, that has its own format.  Two choices for that:
    * Leave the TC backups alone. Connect the HD to the TC and select it as the TM destination, and Let Time Machine start fresh on it.  You can always see and restore from the old ones via the Browse... option, as above.   (There is a way to speed up the first backup; see the blue box in #Q2 of Using Time Machine with a Time Capsule.)
    * Copy ("Archive") the TC's internal disk to the external HD, per the green box in #Q6 of the same article.  Then select the external as your Time Machine destination via Time Machine Preferences.
Is this simply deferring a problem issue to another time (aagh)? Or to somehow try and remove this inconsistency and remove case-sensitive formatting from all tech items, even if this might mean reformatting and losing old backup data?
No.  There's not really a problem, unless you change the case of file/folder names and try to restore the old ones to the same place via the TM browser, per the link in my earlier post.  That's the only possible downside.
Does Time Machine require case-sensitive formatting on its destination drive?
No.  It's the default, but case-ignorant is fine, unless you ever want to add a case-sensitive volume.  Then you're in a pickle.
Or does Time Capsule only function witih case-sensitive formatting?
No.  The TC's actual disk is case-ignorant; it's only the Time Machine sparse bundle that's case-sensitive by default.
The benefit of case-sensitive formatting as Apple default seems rather unclear to me
It's the default only for Time Machine backups.  Everything else defaults to case-ignorant.
The advantage is, once you've been backing-up your internal HD for weeks, months, or years, and want to add a case-sensitive external HD to be backed-up, you can.   If the backups are case-ignorant, you can't.
