Why do I have program folders that have a slash through them?

I have folders with programs in them with slash that says that the programs can't be run on Mac Book Pro. .....Mountain Lion
Do I delete them?
Crazy....this laptop is 1 month old and I had apple transfer from my old laptop.

Too many conflicting details, so we have to get the facts straight before solving any problems:
So the only program that has the slash across it that you need to work is The Print Shop? You have no need for any other non-functioning older programs...
Under the Apple menu of both computers, go to About This Mac... then More Info... then System Report and tell us the Model Name, Model Identifier and Processor Name for BOTH computers:

Do you have The Print Shop manual? Do you know the version number? Since it runs, check in the Menus to find a HELP or ABOUT menu and get the version number for us.
So, if I understand you now, it works on your Mt. Lion MacBook but not on your Lion MacBook and your desire is to have it work on both. Explaining the mystery of why it works in Mt. Lion and not in Lion will cost you extra!

Those are aggregated by the Gantt chart. Right-click the block in question and hit "Expand" or equivalent. MWM v2.0 will aggregate Activities in the Gantt chart for display purposes if the Activities are similar.

Exactly what did you do and how did you do it? this ay be the cause of your issue but without details we can n=ony guess

This makes no sense at all - all of your previous statements indicate that you do have an iPhoto library but have some problems with it
By default your iPHoto library is located in your Pictures folder and is named iPhtoo library - if tha tis not the case the you have moved or renamed it and only you know what you did until you tell us the details

Why are there two program folders

when I opened my new Windows 7 PC there were 2 program folders
1) c:/program
2) c:/program (x86)
why and does it make any difference where I store programs as I install them

Hi,
You must have a 64bit Windows installation. Programs that can run in a 64bit environment will install to your Programs files folder, whereas programs that require a 32 bit environment will be installed in your Programs files (X86) and use WOW64 ( Windows 32bit on Windows 64bit ) in order to run. E-mail folders that did not come through with Leopard upgrade

I had many e-mail folders in my Apple Mail that did not come through in my Leopard upgrade. I do have them backed up on a Lacie. Any easier suggestions then going to the back up. Can you drag from the abckup to the new e-mail set up on Leopard

Downloaded programs appear with a slash through them ? ?

Hello, I recently bought a MacBook Pro. I downloaded a free writing software from the internet (Celtx) to write screenplays. After the installation, I dragged it to the Applications folder as requested by the program. The program runs fine but in the Applications folder, the ICON of it has a circle around it with a slash through it (a la Ghostbusters). But still open the program? I can't figure out why it does this? Any takers?

When I power/turn on my macbook with the power button I get this gray screen that has a circle with a slash through it. It then stays on this screen so i hit the power button to shut off and then turn back on and its there again then i power off and on one more time and it then powers up like normal and brings me to my login in screen where you type your password to sign in.

The MBA is trying to tell you that it is not able to find a bootable system
Either the file is corrupt or access to the storrage has failed
I would start by seeing if it will boot with Command + R depressed

Why does spotlight find files & folders that i've deleted?

i have several external drives connected to my g4/os 10.3.9 housing my music collection
when i connect them to my intel mac mini/ os 10.4.10 and delete a file or folder it still shows up if i search for it in spotlight (or using the search in the top right of the finder window). it shows up with a blank icon, uses zero k, does not give any location, is "read only", and if you double-click it a message comes up saying that it is an alias and the original can no longer be found. it then gives me 3 options "delete", "fix alias" or "ok". none of these achieve anything.
any ideas? it is annoying as it makes searching for anything really annoying as half of the results are these meaningless "aliases". this problem only occurs with files & folders originally created on the drives by my g4/ 10.3.9
if i create and delete a file or folder on the drive from my mac mini it behaves as normal (ie: once deleted it isn't found by searching.

is there a way to force tiger to build an index for this drive? there was in panther (under disk info...you could see whether it was indexed, and start indexing if it wasn't) - couldn't see it in tiger (only had a quick look)

Why do we have to go through flash players to download DE?

Okay So after my acrobat reader 8 digital editions fail with an error message, I have to delete everything and just to be on the safe side, reinstall with a acrobat reader 7
After getting countless error messages "failing to autenticate" when i try to download the flash player 9, i have to resort to downloading the archived flash player version 8.
Then when i get into digital editions page and through the flash player download the digital editions, i get the message "download error"?
What kind of crappy service are you guys running here?
Do you idiots ever have the basic intelligence to at least make sure that one can at least download the digital editions without going through the flash players?

I am having the same issue. I purchased an ebook knowing I had adobe on my computer. The book needs the digital edition to run and for some unknown to me reason flash doesn't work on my internet explorer and I've tried on netscape where flash works but the download stalls and I don't know if its actually doing anything or not. No security warnings pop up or anything. I've been trying for hours to get it to work...and now thinking I wasted the money on my book. I run vista on a new computer and cannot download the Digital Edition and no clue how to make it work. Is there a way to download it manually onto my desktop where I can install it from there?? skipping flash and java and all that stuff totally? I've been looking and haven'tt found it.

Why do I have to go through diagnostics to get my wifi network to kick in? System preferences won't remember my network!!!

Every time I take my mac out of sleep mode I have to go to dianostics in the system preferences to get my wireless router to give me my internet. WiFi shows it is on but after that nothing. I can't seem to have my network be remembered. What am I doing wrong. It never happened until I switched to mountain lion.

I never got the 5 pop up for cancelling. Turns out I was forced to call to be told Adobe would not cancel my month to month membership without charging a penalty. I already uninstalled all cloud since they weren't working properly and consistently.
Fine Adobe so be it you want to punish a customer for wanting to cancel a SERVICE. I have Adobe suite that is not cloud and cloud will be something I will never consider gain . People should have the right to cancel MONTH to MONTH memberships. I am also switching to other software for my art and photo editing.

HT1551 why does my Apple TV say that some movies purchased through iTunes are not authorized to play on the Apple TV (1st gen)

Why will my Apple TV (1st gen) not allow me to play some movies even though they were purchased in the iTunes store? I have sync'd the movies to my Apple TV and there is plenty of room on the drive. Have you purchased anything on the Apple TV recently, next time you make a purchase, try making it on the Apple TV.

My Ipod wont sync with my new library and I dont know why not. It will show that it is connected through home sharing, but it is only avalible when i am with my laptop! I dont know how to get this current library as mine on my ipod, help!

My ipod will not sync with my laptop. I have had previous Ipods in the past, but since then I have grown out of most of my music. Also about a year and a half ago I got a new laptop. I used the same Itunes name, but now on my new Ipod it has all of my old music and it refuses to download any of my new music. When I am using home sharing though, it says that I can turn on my "Library" but that my "music" is what is perminately on the computer. This only works though if I am near my laptop. When I try to transfer my library onto my ipod it wont let me. My music on my ipod is completely different than my normal itunes library on my computer and I have no idea how to transfer it. When I plug it in, it wont sync at all, or show that there is any device even plugged in. I am frustrated and tired of not having any of my music, so someone please help!!!

You can only sync to one computer/iTunes library. To make this your syncing computer:
