Why do I keep getting an error message saying "error occured during installation before iTunes could be configured"
I am trying to install iTunes on my computer and everytime I do it says
"error occured during installation before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified" how do I fix this?

After installing the lates version of itunes on my Sony Vio, a bubble pops up which says:
iTunes installation complete, ERROR occured during installation before iTunes could be configured. Your system has not been modified. To complete the installation process, run the installation again.

When upgrading to the latest iTunes, always encounter the msg "error occurred during installation before itunes could be configured" which was running the installer on my window XP.

I have tried to download iTunes five times this afternoon to my new computer using both Fire fox and Explorer. Each time after it downloads I receive a message stating that an error has occured before the installer was able to be completed. I turned off the pop-up blocker like support suggested and I am running Windows 8.1, does anybody know how to fix this?

I went into control panel unistalled apple mobile device support, apple software update, apple application support,and bonjour. i have QuickTime 7.7.5 installed on laptop. I rebooted and tired again failed same error. I removed the apple programs again went into registry and deleted any reference to apple or itunes. I deleted files in program x86 directory, common files. reboot reinstalled failed. any suggestions?
Using 2 ipad airs need at least 11.1 cannot install new itunes but I can insta ll old versions but that will not work with new ipads..

I went to majorgeek.com and downloaded msicuu2 but this did not help. How do I clean windows installer?
That was for windows\system32 using scannow and showed 100% complete
Does it make a difference that Apple loads it into Program Files (x86)?
No, it should also be checking through your WOW64 subsystem (that's part of the operating system too).
Can you check something further for me, please? Create a new Windows user account with full administrative rights. Log out of your usual account and log into the new one. (Don't use fast user switching to move between accounts.)
Can iTunes launch in the new user account? (It'll show a blank library if it does, but that's expected. The content is back in your other user account.)
(Checking here to see if the issue is systemwide on the PC, or related to a specific user account.) -

Itunes says I need a version 10.7 or higher for my iphone 5 so when I go to upgrade/install the latest from the website I keep getting a message "errors occured during installation before itunes could be modified.... run the installer again" any ideas?
iTunes doesn't yet provide support for Windows 8. Some can get it installed others not.

This happens a lot regardless of the web page. I continually have to restart FF and it persists stillStart Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

I added SYSTEM and Administrator to full access and then it installed properly
Had the same problem, installer couldn’t read from %temp%\folder\installer.msi
(%temp%=C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Temp). Added full rights for user SYSTEM on %temp% folder and installer ran just fine -
I keep getting the following message:

When I try to open a project, the only option for a new track is for external MIDI device; when I try to open an audio or software instrument track, I get an error message saying that "the specified number of tracks could not be created. Reduce the number of tracks to create and try again." I didn't specify ANY number of tracks. Thanks for help!
Ah.. then I suspect you just need to go to Logic's prefs/Audio and check CoreAudio...
It has been unchecked somehow...
