Why do I lose my text layer in AE when gpu ray trace rendereing? Macbook pro with retina and latest

why do I lose my text layer in AE when gpu ray trace rendereing? Macbook Pro with Retina and latest AE update.
Any new text layers disapear also as soon as the 3d box is checked.  Solid layers do likewise.  The text is available in fast draft mode but is not present in a final render.
Adussting the number of "rays" makes no difference.
No one else seems to be having this problem with ther macbook pro with retina ( on internet).
What silly mistake am I making???????????
If I start the project in CPU ray trace all is fine.  If after the problem develops in GPU I change back to CPU I DONT get them back!!!!!
I just reset the AE preferences - no help.

  • I just bought a new apple MacBook Pro with retina and it has froze on me twice today. Anybody know why this is happening?

I just bought myself a brand new apple MacBook Pro yesterday. Today while using it it has froze on me twice for no apparent reason. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Or have it replaced.  Unless you've added a bunch of strange stuff, this shouldn't happen to a brand new one.   Let your local Apple Store get you going with a MBP that works perfectly.

  • Reason for blurring of text in MacBook Pro with retina display?

I was in an Apple store recently and examined a 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display.
I noticed that when I expanded the size of the text (using the touchpad) on the Apple web page on the screen that there was a brief blur in the appearance of the text before the text looked sharp again at the larger size.
I asked an Apple person at the store why this occurred. He claimed that the brief blurring of the text that I saw when I expanded its size was due to my eyes adjusting to the rapid change in text size.
The answer appeared ridiculous to me. I have a 17-inch MacBook Pro about 5 years old as well as an iPad 2 and iPad mini. On none of these machines have I seen the temporary blurring of the text appearance when increasing its size.
Is there an inherent problem with retina displays that causes this problem?
    Thanks for your help

Nah, it was due to the image zoom being processed off the server for the Apple website and the likely clogged connection wifi speeds off the local router in that specific Apple store.
most websites are not designed for retina level viewing either
Ive done zoom in on a Retina here at the house with 30MB down speeds and never had a blurring unless it was coming off a jammed up server from a specific website that was slow.

  • The quality of built-in camera on macbook pro with retina display is far worse than any other mac. Why?

I just got the new macbook pro with retina display like a week ago and I've been noticing that the quality of the built-in camera on it is so bad.
It's even worse than my 2009 iMac or my sister's 2012 13" macbook pro. I don't get why this is a facetime HD built-in camera when i can obviously see that is not even near HD. Or is it just my computer. Do i have to bring it to the apple store??

it's advertised 720p so yes it is the same as all the other MBP.  it may just be the resolution of your monitor is stretching the pixels.  Don't worry about bringing it to the apple store.

  • On my MacBook Pro with Retina Display, Why does the "USB Devices Disabled Unplug the device using too much power to re-enable USB devices" keep coming up after I unplugged the usb device?

On my MacBook Pro with Retina Display 15", that I purchased a few weeks ago, started coming up with the following message on my desktop:
"USB Devices Disabled Unplug the device using too much power to re-enable USB devices".
I unplugged the device and the message still keeps coming up.
This is what I have done so far to troubleshoot:
I shut down the laptop. When booting up I pressed the command+option+p+r at the same time. It comes up with a menu to reinstall OSX, Get help online, Run Disk Utility, etc. I choose the disk utility and repair the disk and then restarted.
The message keeps popping up and I can't seem to get rid of it. Why does the message keep popping up even though I don't have any devices hooked up to the laptop at all? Any help to reenable my usb ports and get rid of the messaage would be helpful.

I talked to Apple Support and we at least stopped the bleeding, a little bit. These are the troubleshooting steps I did before I contacted Apple Support:
    1. Reinstalled OSX
    2. Restore the last known good Time Machine Backup.
This did not fix my issue, so I called Apple Support and they told me this:
    1. Turn Power off.
    2. Wait 15 seconds.
    3. Plug in Magsafe adapter.
    4. Wait 15 seconds.
    5. Hold down the Shift+Option+Power Button for 20-30 seconds.
    6. Turn Power back on.
Ok, this stopped the bleeding a little, but as soon as I plugged in a Apple USB Superdrive
and a Apple Mini Displayport to VGA Adapter. This "USB Devices Disabled" pop-up pops up like every 30 minutes now. At least, it is not constantly popping up after I close it, so I guess it will do for the temporary. Going to contact Apple support, later, though to see what else can be done.

Why is the australian MacBook pro with retina display far more expensive then the American one when the Australian dollar is much stronger

this is a user response forum, i'm not sure what you think we will know. Apple doesn't reply here. you would probably have to contact the main Apple HQ in Australia to have a chance to get any kind of answer.

  • Why 15' Macbook Pro with Retina Display Shows 4K Resolution?

I discover a very interesting problem when taking a screen capture in 15 inch Macbook Pro with Retina display under different screen resolution settings.
Please see the image below first.
Info on the Left : Screen captured in "Default" setting, which is the best retina setting, everything is huge and very Sharpe.
Info on the Right: Screen captured under the "More Space" setting, which everything looks small and give more space.
The problem is the screen captured file pixel resolution in each screen resolution settings:
The "Default" screen setting showing the correct pixels at 2880 by 1800 which is perfect.
The "More Space" setting is showing 3480 by 2400, at 4K resolution.
    My question is:
Why is that when the display is under "More space" setting result with more pixels?
Can anyone help me to explain this with this please?

I'm not sure what is to explain. "More space" works by pretending that there are more pixels available on the screen than the physical screen has, so it's not too surprising that a screen shot should have more pixels.

  • Hello everyone I need help! Why i cant Update to Mountain Lion if Im gonna try to update my Macbook Pro with Mac OS X 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5. It always says "Your Software is up to date" which is only Mac Os X ver. 10.7.5

Hello everyone I need help! Why i cant Update to Mountain Lion if Im gonna try to update my Macbook Pro with Mac OS X 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5. It always says "Your Software is up to date" which is only Mac Os X ver. 10.7.5

Not sure what exactly you did (or not), but it looks as if you should attempt doing it all again, only this time all right and by the book. Many millions have done so, and sure it'll work for you as well.
If you've indeed purchased ML already, you'll find it exactly there in the App Store: under Purchases.

  • Bad text quality in Adobe Reader on Macbook Pro with Retina

When viewing documents in Adobe Reader (just installed on new Macbook pro retina), text quality in documents and in the program itself is very low.
Text quality is perfect in viewer and in Adobe on other computers and on my Iphone. All settings are as recommended (110 pixels/inch and text smoothening turned on). How can this be?

  • Why does my Volume adjust from loud to mute when it wants on my macbook pro?

    Hi!
My volume on my macbook pro decides what volume it wants to be, from loud to mute, and vice-versa. I cant stop it, I dont know how to! Please help me!

This is related more to physics than to anything else.. At the same source signal strength, higher frequencies are more easily attenuated. If the receiver sensitivity is the same and the background noise level is the same, a higher frequency signal will have a shorter range than a lower one.
So, your tests sound like they produced exactly the results that I would expect.
Ways for manufacturers to get around this... they can use an antenna with higher gain with the higher freqs. They could pump out more milliwatts at the higher freqs. They can come up with receivers that are better able to pick signal out of noise...
If you don't have a ton of 2.4 GHz sources around your house.. stick with 2.4. If, like me, you can see ten or so 2.4 GHz wireless networks from your living room, 5 GHz looks like a nice place to go, understanding that the radius of the network will decrease.

  • Why Autocad 3d works slowly in my macbook pro with retina display?

It happens everytime I open autocad and I start to modeling in 3d.
    I need some advice

3D takes a lot of processing power. I would post in the AutoCad forums and see what those folks have to say.

  • Why will some CDs not work properly with my Macbook Pro with Retina display?

I have the external CD drive for the Macbook Pro with Retina display, but I'm finding that some CDs will not run their applications properly. However, on the older editions of the Macbook Pro (for example, on the 13"), the programs run fine. Is there something I can download to fix this problem?

When the MBP-R does not run CD applications "properly", what does it do?
Is it possible that the applications that do not run properly are incompatible with Mountain Lion? For example, might they be old PowerPC applications that relied on Rosetta to run on Intel CPUs?

  • Why would a picture of a globe pop up when I start up my macbook pro?

I started up my macbook pro, and instead of the Apple logo popping up while the computer loaded, a picture of a flashing globe had popped up. I ended up shutting the computer off and then turned it back on and it loaded up as normal. I was just curious if this was something i should be worried about..? i've only had my macbook for about 2 weeks, and it's my first time with a mac computer. Please help!

That is a sigfn that either the Online Apple hardware test is starting or that you are booting from the Online Recovery HD system. Both are from the Apple web servers.
